we can read16115 He has only forbidden for you what is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and what was dedicated to other than God. But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then God is Forgiver, MercifulSo what about all these things made out of the pig skin (gelatine) are the allowed to eat? Cause the aint from the meat.
In US it must be a big problem Halloween if the kids cant eat that treats
PS my son going to spen this Halloween in US, And I know he looking foreward to it. Normally we dont eat that sweets but get some from oxe.
But maybe its allowed to eat. Or what? -
Its not always from pig though.

I am not a fan of sticky candy. So its not always a problem for me at least.I know sometimes gelatin is required to make dessert also. It can be substituted by corn starch.

khinzir = khinz (stinking, maggoty, filthy, rotten, infested, contaminated) + ara (I see/find)
Gelatin like in sweets or pharmaceuticals would be fine by me, but that's just me. You should do what you think is best for you and your family. If you find that gelatin is 'khinz' for you then you should avoid it.
My personal opinion.

Thanks for replies.
@AgphysThe skin got small pieces of flesh in it dont you think?
its like putting your hand into a pile of venomous snake saying you wont get bitten.
I dont think thats much left. But then we also should think that there in the meat/flesh still are some small trades of blood.
Then we shouldn't eat meat at all. Or it should go through a more intense treatment than we do now. If it all is possible to remove all blood...I see that kosher use a special method to remove the blood. Salting and so.
which is not a part af Halal slaughtering as far as I know.
I have never heard any so called muslims talking about removing the blood after the slaughtering where the blood had run out. -

Wikipedia Gelatin is a mixture of peptides and proteins produced by partial hydrolysis of collagen extracted from the skin, bones, and connective tissues of animals such as domesticated cattle, chicken, pigs, and fish.

Greetings and Peace, all group
I knew about bones as a source but wasn't aware of all the other components in gelatine. Not concerned about bone since it is distinct from flesh
2259 Or the one who passed through a town which had become ruins. He said "How can God possibly revive this after it had died?" So God put him to death for one hundred calendar years, then He resurrected him. He said "How long have you stayed here?" He said "I have stayed here a day or part of a day." He said "No, you have stayed here for one hundred calendar years! Look at your food and drink, they have not changed, but look at your donkey! And We will make you a sign for the people; and look at the bones how We let them arise, then We cover them with flesh." So when it was clear to him what happened, he said "I now know that God is capable of all things!"
6146 And for those who are Jewish We have made forbidden all that have undivided hoofs; and from the cattle and the sheep We made forbidden their fat except what is attached to the back, or entrails, or mixed with bone. That is a punishment for their rebellion, and We are truthful.
Fat is also distinct from meat...and what is fat but adipose tissue? Blood is also a tissue.
Myself, I stay away from fried pork skins...but in truth not concerned about lard or gelatin.
ALLAH knows best.
