    Peace,

I am not sure if I put this topic in the right category, but here it is anyway.

This link is to an article on women's dress code is Islam by Free-Minds.org http//www.free-minds.org/articles/politics/rania.htm

It says its written by Queen Rania of Jordan.

The exact same article, word to word is on Submission.org's site here http//www.submission.org/dress.html and it says the article is written by someone by the name of Ahmed Okla.

Just wondering who is the real author?

      Salaam Green Leaves,

I took a quick look at the article and I don't think that queen Rania has anything to do with it. She is way far from such debates.

        Peace be upon you all,

I "heard" that Q Raina did something like that , I think it was a few years ago. I don't ever recall "HEARING" that it was false. But I put "HEARING" in quotes to emphasize the facts that it is just jearsay on my part, no evidence.

          Salaam kyle,

Queen Rania practices Islam the traditional way. She prays, fasts Ramadan and goes to Hajj and Omrah during which wearing the Hijab (the head cover)! Queen Rania is a royalty who keeps herself busy with charity works. She has no time nor interest for religion debates!

            Peace be upon you Taj,

Did you see where i said I "HEARD" it? Did you see where I stated what I heard was "hearsay"?
            D

But regarding your response, the pictures I have seen of her, she does not wear the head cover, so why does it seem far fetched to you that she would speak about head cover?

              Salaam Kyle,

Did you see where i said I "HEARD" it? Did you see where I stated what I heard was "hearsay"?

Sorry it sounded as if I didn't!!! ?

But there was a problem regarding that article. Nobody knows what exactly happened when that article was sent to the papres with the web address of Queen Rania. In any case, it is very clear to me as well as to every Arab living in the Arab world that Queen Rania is not into that sort of debate. Not her upbringing, her education or her position (as a queen) would encourage such an act. Yes, she doesn't wear the Hijab everyday but she wears it, like the rest of the women, in Mecca while performing Hajj and Omrah.

so why does it seem far fetched to you that she would speak about head cover?

It is not farfetched that she speaks about Hijab. It is her writing such an article is farfetched!

              Taj

                  Peace,

That's what I thought...its not her who wrote the article, because considering the country she lives in and her status as a queen, I doubt she'd be willing to write an article openly asking people to follow the Quran alone...especially when her husband considers himself the direct descendent of prophet Muhammad. They've killed people in mid-eastern countries for denying hadith and I think she knows that all too well.

Then why is she being given credit for an article she did not even write? ?

Have you met Queen Rania before? If not maybe we shouldn't be speaking for her. We do not know what she is thinking, only God does.

                    Just a thought. )

                      Salaam Feshari,

I did meet her and I am not against what she could be thinking, Allah only knows, of course. We all could be thinking anything, no limits. But to write such a material is not her at all.

Besides, if she did write it, she would be contradicting herself, because she does wear the Hijab in Mecca for the Hajj and Omrah.

Right, I'm just saying maybe it's better we not try to speak for her. That's all.

No, Rania is her first name - don't know what it means though.

Malika is the word for queen

                                  Salaam Elke and Dell,

Rani a person who gazes for a long time at something. Rani is the masculine form. Rania is the feminine. So Rania is an adjective for a woman taking a long gaze at something.

Oh, yeah! But you know what, those "Hadeeth fanatics", in actuality, are not. They pick and choose the Hadeeths they like, which happens to sound fake (based on my own discernment), and discard or hide the ones that make sense.
