    I am trying to do some search on the original meaning of a word but struggling as some steps are not clear to me.

    For example the verse 1689 says the followinghttp//corpus.quran.com/wordbyword.jsp?chapter=16&verse=89#(16891)

    Sahih International And the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves. And We will bring you, , as a witness over your nation. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.

    BOLD I am interested in the the root definition of this word as it seems to be used differently (plain,detailed etc.). I know those are synonyms but just for piece of mind and also to get into the habit of searching root of each word, I would like to learn this.

    I followed the following link

    http//www.studyquran.co.uk/PRLonline.htm

    However, step 4 onward is unclear to me.

    If i extract the root I get this

    As clarification = tib'ynan = ynan(clarification) --> ynn (root)

    How do I search the meaning of it and know whether I got the right root?

    Thank you
