The fact isn't mentioned in the Qur'an doesn't necessary means isn't real.

From the Wikipedia's article we read there are at least 4 Hadiths

the facts of punishments regarding each Nd every single matter is mention in quran. when quran talks its the responsibilty of Allah to complete every single subject of quran and specially the punishment of judgmenet day.

regarding hadith it just readable for dates Nd names rest of the things filter through quran if its mention then u can take in to account if its not mention its mean its fabrication

          Thanks. Great response.

Maybe the Hadith writers copied from Jewish legends this "punishment in the grave".

yeh you can say that, lot of hadith stories are very similar to bibel, gospel, psalms and christian and jewish tradition,,

However, here http//islam.ru/en/content/story/reality-punishment-grave it is write

              Verses from the Qurn

              .

?And they will be exposed to the fire day and night. Then, on the day the hour will rise (day of judgement), it shall be said to the Angels Cast the people of the Pharaoh into the severest punishment!?(4046)

?Our scholars have substantiated the punishment in the grave with this verse of the Qur?an. They say

?The verse indicates that fire will be brought to them morning and evening and this does not refer to the day of judgment as Allah says ?And on the day judgment will be established, cast you the people of Pharaoh in the severest penalty? (i.e. it is referring to a time that is before the day of judgement). It also does not refer to this world, as bringing them to the fire did not occur in this world. Therefore, it becomes evident that this happened after their death and will happen before the Day of Judgment, thus it proves the establishment of the punishment in the grave. When it is established and proved for Pharaoh?s people it will also be established for others, as there is no reason of distinction? (Tafsir al-Kabir)

?We shall punish them twice and then they will be returned to a great punishment? (9101)

?This verse is a fundamental evidence for the Ahl al-Sunnah wa ?l-Jama?ah in establishing the punishment of the grave?. (Tafsir ibn Kathir)

Day and night? In the grave day and night?

As I read it, I understand that the fire will face them day add night referss to this world, unless they repent. Of course if it is burning to ashes that they consider to be exposed to the fire, that is a material fire burning things, then if it is not in this life neither can it be in the grave, anybody has ever seen fire in any grave?

                Salaam

There is absolutely no life in the dead corpse, the Spirit has departed from it and will not return. Only exception is if God/Rabb had a plan for the Spirit to return to the corpse and it being reanimated. But that is not the optimal case and no one in the right mind would like to be reanimated but released from the bodily (dimension).

That corpses will be resurrected is an ancient idea which is several thousand years old and is evident in ancient Egyptian tombs when the mummy is saved for the day of resurrection. This is belief that caused them to do it. This is a very primitive, superstitious and worldly understanding, and erroneous. If you believe like this you are no better than ancient Egyptians some millennia ago. The deceased and withered bodies will never resurrect and no spirit will be placed in it again. One can simply burn the corpse and it will not contaminate anyone and then be easily handled to be spread by the wind.

But there is no need to wait, any praiseworthy (al-hamed) person can join God/Rabb's realm already at hand by doing the right things and developing their spirit. These people long towards losing their bodies and to never again be forced into one.

                    Be well

                      Thanks for your answer.

However, as I told you before, I don't believe in the possibility of metaphorical language applied to the Qur'an.

If there is a Hell or a Judgement Days they must be physical. Hidden in other dimension.

And no, telling you this don't means I support the sect of misguided Hadith-followers.

And I reiterate that I never told anything of a metaphorical Heaven or Hell. They are locations and even Hell is a physical one.

The problem is you understand the location of Hell around you, as being the consequences of your acts. On the contrary, I understand the Hell being physically hidden in another dimension, or a paralell one if you prefer.

when somebody is not satisfied with the life, his/her life already become hell .

one need to understand what azab is not necessary the fire or swear cold as it will give pain to the body , when ur body get dead there is no concept of pain in dead cells, its all about charater/spirit ,
God knows what is the weakness of every human being so their test or punishment always occur on their weakness same will happen when your stay of earth will finish , angels transport ur chaaracter/soul/spirit to another dimenshen , people call it alame barzakh and for the righteous it will be nice place and for wrong doers it will give them pain , i think about it alot its not my final conclusion nobdy really knows what will happen to a soul when they dead , nobody can come back from that dimenshen , nobody cant ,

and about the hour/judgement day its definate and that physical hell is not yet accomplish whatever it will be ,

it will be designed for wrongdoers and its not literally fire , as we know its unseen , its more worser than fire infaxt,

and @ lost in world about the reference you provided its nothing to concern with qabar ka azab or punishment of grave , ur body is just nothing more than a old garment that you throw after wearing, same on the judgement day the garment provided to you will be according to the need of thaat timezone , read the full context of the verses reference ,its just talking about the judgment day

                            and about this,,

We shall punish them twice and then they will be returned to a great punishment? (9101)

if jamat ahle sunnat jump in to well it doesnt mean , u also have to jump in well.

for a time being if we clearly look at the verse it talking about twice and great punishment
clear understanding is great punishment talking about judgement day and twice is not refering to grave . its refering to the worldly life , this chapter is talking about the people of makkah who first punished by muslims and again on the end second time they punished and defeated, hope it will help you make understand how to read quran.

Yes it's real-ly started by Ancient Egyptians..

                              http//australianmuseum.net.au/the-underworld-and-the-afterlife-in-ancient-egypt

After death the soul shall have a journey in the underworld before he finally reach the final destination where his heart will be weighted (read Judgement Day)
To survive in this underworld journey before the weighting of the heart, he need to provide a correct answer to a series of questioning..
And reciting correct mantra to spell away demon..

That's why a BOOK is the key to salvation..
By owning a holy book, authored by Gods and officially published and sold by the Temple, which is God's official agent in this earth, the soul can always look up to the God's authored holy book and provide correct answer to any question or reciting the correct mantra to spell away the demon during his perilous journey in the underworld.
The book however is not cheap, it cost $200,000, but it's a small money to pay for eternal life in paradise right?

Ladies and gentlemen.... that's how the believe in holy book started...

And the "Punishment of the Grave + Weighting of the heart" idea is a carry over dogma from Ancient Egyptian religion..

                                Peace Jafar.

Qoran does not support punishment of the grave.

Misunderstanding and ignorance of what GOD is saying from many leads to all sorts of fairy tales!!!!

Let me sum up for you what GOD is saying in Qoran

GOD created us for this test. He also created death to return us to Him.Death is temporary prior to resurrection.
GOD explains in Qoran that death is like sleep, complete with dreams and nightmares. When you are asleep you are not aware of anything except if you dream. then you remember some of what you dream when you wake up. Some do not wake up if their predetermined time is over.
Now, when GOD is talking about Pharaoh and those who died with him in the verse mentioned in this thread about"Hell will be shown to them day and night", it just means while Pharaoh and those who perished with him are asleep( dead)-- By the way at death everyone knows their destiny--They are having this nightmare /dream. When they wake up for judgement (resurrection) the matter will be settled .
Hope that explains the "fairy tale" for you.

                                GOD bless you.
                                Peace.

                                    Peace.

                                    bravo

Misunderstanding and ignorance of what GOD is saying from many leads to all sorts of fairy tales!!!!

Ignorance of actual fact and blind belief to clerics/priest and religion leads to all sort of fairy tales, from ancient times up to today.

I was explaining where did the idea came from..

Whether one choose to believe in such idea or not.. it's up to them..
As belief doesn't matter, it's the deed that count..
