Nubayyin=we will expound
Nubayyinu=we expoundNabaa=News/information/Message or announcement of great utility which results either to great knowledge or predommance of opinion and which inspires awe and makes the heart tremble with fear/tiding/announcement.
Nabbi=Declare(sing)
Nabbiu=Declare you.(pl)
Anbi=informs
Nabuwwat=prophethoodIf you remember some of the previous jewish prophets had their children
as prophets aswell(male children),So Allah (maybe) is clarifying that the deliberation from/of the prophet Muhammad is complete with him ,and there won't be anyone else associated with that deliberation/expounding.337
And behold we took of our expounding their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus son (of)Mary We took from them covenant a strong.Maybe a better meaning then qd's expounding could be used.

YUSUFALI And We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation, and We granted him his reward in this life; and he was in the Hereafter (of the company) of the Righteous.Looking at this ayat if the progeny continues then so can the prophethood
But what if the progeny ends then the prophethood automatically comes to an end , doesn't it?So,isn't the following ayat just saying the prophethood has come to an end in this case as the prophet Muhammad hasn't any male children?

If we know the real signification of the word khatam, then the problem will be solved.
This word is rich in meanings, the verb khatam can mean to conclude, khatima means conclusion.In my humble opinion, if we consider that this reading/quran is clear, fully detailed for our salvation, then we don't need others prophet with other books. Consequently, I lean toward the last as a meaning for the word khatam.

Why should propets be ended?
Seal of the prophets can mean that one is SEALED from getting to that level until they are truly appreciative(muhamadun).
Progeny is not based on blood line, it is based on understanding as can be seen when the God told Noah that his son was NOT his son.

Salaams idol,
if i may be bold ,a son is not your son if ,to me ,he is not from your loins.In the case of Noah , May Allah show us the error.
In the case of Prophet Muhammad ,i think Allah has said you(Muhammad) Don't have any male children so your progeny of prophets has therefor come to an end with you.
Unlike in other places Allah has said the oposite,(2927)hasn't he?
So if ,or can another Messenger come along as Allah hasn't said the Messengership has ended.Has he?
