    Salam

I wish someone would help me understand that God is love not fear. I'm always scared that I will be punished if I don't pray or read the Koran or do this or that. Any verses in the Koran pertaining to love?

        Hello

When is the last time you read the Quran?

Daily and quiet a lot of it. El Bakra, Yasin, El Kahf every day. And sometimes others.

You will likely be punished, Confused. If you follow Quran's sectarian interpretation you will not find much love, but you may be unharmed if you perform the ritual unquestionably and devoutly.

            Salaam,

A lot of things we think are "punishments" and end up feeling like punishments anyway are nothing but the consequences of whatever we have done that results in harm to your own self or to others.

4230 And whatever befalls you of misfortune, from what have earned your hands. But *He pardons much.

*There is no equivalent for translation as God is neither he nor she, but that's what is usually preferred over translating as "it".

God is forgiver and pardons, overlooks much.

Of course there is no perfect example that fits but here is one, let's assume a child and their parents who are a normal, loving and healthy functioning family in society

Say a child steals something from a neighbor's house. The parent lectures their child on the wrongdoing and takes away a privilege say a playstation or a toy, whatever for a time period.

The lecturing and apparent sanction is not out of animosity or hatred or to "scare" the child, but to teach and to grow the child's personality and sense of morality. It is out of love.

God is not human and so the the love and fear concepts we get from the Quran are for our understanding. The way I understand it is, there is good for good and the opposite for the opposite. Don't get hooked up in such matters as "reading the Quran for points" or you must observe the so called "5 pillars" of "Islam" if you want to avoid punishments. Not everyone is able to fast and not everyone is able to do "prayers" as traditionally defined. All these things from the Quran are prescriptions and are flexible.

If you believe in God, do good works (helping others, being kind, being fair, being just to the best of your ability) and avoid major atrocities (murder, deceit, backstabbing, cheating etc) and expect the accountability, then you have no reason to fear nor grieve.

What would God want with your punishment then?

4147 What would God want by punishing you if you only are grateful and believe? And Allah is All-Appreciative, All-Knowing.

human being is faulty creation, we are weak and thats what we call test. this weakness is inside us. most of the so called strong humans refuse to give that so called test hence they do what their body desire.

bad deed= bad result( i can understand)
good deed= good result( i can understand)

              bad deed= good result
good deed = bad result ( i cannot understand)

then people make me understand its a test(wordly life) , y its a test when i fullfill all the requirements and i deserved to be passed , y fail then, y bad results, what should i do,

Continuously pray to Rabb to be shown the truth, be able to handle the truth, and to be cleansed from blindness and other heaviness /darkness. Pray for peaceful joy, not mere conditional happiness. Come to a deep realisation that you cannot achieve anything at all without the aid/sanction of the Rabb. Find joy in this surrender. Leave your problems to Rabb. Ask Rabb to save you, as you won't be able to do it on your own. Find peace in this realisation. Always seek guidance from Rabb, even in overcoming fear of not doing things correctly.

Confused Salamun aleykum/Peace be upon you

Consider the nature of Huwa - She, He, It. It is not simply "he". Translations are translations and have their mistakes of creative interpretation - gender polarised Huwa is not the nature of the Supreme at all. So the Supreme, being the source of the feminine and the masculine, encompassing these, presents the gentleness of the feminine with the power of the masculine. The Supreme is in no need of harshness, rather the Supreme, knowing its Infinite Power, is truly gentle. This being has the power to annihilate all creation in a single blink - with that kind of power there is no cause for it to fear mankind and then to be harsh to any of us, all that remains is to be flawlessly gentle. Rather, it is timeless infinite unconditional love. All else is a distortion.

human being is faulty creation, we are weak and thats what we call test. this weakness is inside us. most of the so called strong humans refuse to give that so called test hence they do what their body desire.

bad deed= bad result( i can understand)
good deed= good result( i can understand)

                  bad deed= good result
good deed = bad result ( i cannot understand)

then people make me understand its a test(wordly life) , y its a test when i fullfill all the requirements and i deserved to be passed , y fail then, y bad results, what should i do,

Was it a good deed directly for the Supreme Consciousness, directly to build reality in the way that is best?
If it is, there can be no error, that is the law of the Supreme.
If it is a good deed with any trace or seed of ego, or arrogance ("I am doing good" rather than "the Supreme has chosen to do good through me and I am thankful&quot then there will be the necessary results by decree.

Do good to effect positive outcomes, for the sake of the outcomes themselves, for the sake of the results. Then you will recognise your true power to channel the Supreme's Will through you, in slm/surrender.

may be this verse is for a situation like me,

if you find something goood may be its bad for you and if you feel something bad may b its good for you something like that, i already submit myslef to my lord, just i was asking the only need of my life , i wonder why God didnt even answer my prayer, i m not saying i lost it, but its so much tiring now , and at this point of life i must take some actions, i cant wait anymore so proabably i will go for alternate which seems very horrifying , anyway i will accept it as i know its only Allah who extends and block provisions,

may be i m not understanding my test , later time Allah will make me understand hope so inshAllah

                      @ Confused

Relax, you are still way "better off" than billions of Buddhists, Hindus, Christians and others who will be tortured in an eternal Hellfire, regardless of how many good deeds they do in their lives. According to the "Merciful God" of the "Noble Qur'an" rotfl

Just by believing in the Qur'an you have already firmly secured your place in eternal Heaven where you can have sex orgies all day long with your 72 virgins..

It's impossible to interpret the Qur'an in such a way that it will make perfect sense.

There are too many irrationally 'hateful' and threatening verses that are impossible to ignore.

                      Peace

Yes Recluse, unless you realize that a bunch of ignorant clerics fabricated their definition of a language to be as according to that fabrication then the language will sound that way. To know Quran for real one has to go to the bottom with each single word and work on what the language really says as the clerics made it all a mess. For that Quran itself is innocent.

Well, clerics have turned the already discriminatory, illogical and hateful message of the Qur'an into a real oppressive death cult.

Irrespective of how much "philological research" is done on the language of the Qur'an or Arabic, the core message that all good deeds of "disbelievers" (that is billions of people on earth who are not Muslim!!) will be in vain and that they will be thrown in an eternal Hell is enough for me to reject this book as being "revealed" from God. I feel stupid that I couldn't see and acknowledge this earlier. This shows that the power of indoctrination, instilled fear by certain dogmas and blind faith is incredible.

rotfl The Quran's message is there for everyone to see. "The emperor has no clothes."

Allah has let you go astray, He knows what's in your breast. Because of the evil you commit and enormities you utter, you have been averted from the Way. Such is the Way of Allah and never you will find in the Way of Allah any change and never will you find in the Way of Allah any alteration.

Now I see you, the disease within your heart has been exposed.
You have no intention of surrendering nor upholding the truth.

Laugh and enjoy for a little while, soon you will be returned to the All-Knower.

just to let you know that in the quran, association is the unpardonable sin

there's nothing hateful or threatening in sending those who have disbelieved in hellfire, considering those who have disbelieved believe they won't be there, so the quran can be saying anything about them, there's no reason for you to feel that way

                                disbelievED, not disbilievE

problems occur when people consider it to be ok to do anything to the disbelievers NOW as if it gave them a permit to do atrocities against them NOW, and this issue stems from clerics and sects not the quran, because ultimately we do not know who is indeed a genuine disbeliever or not, god only knows

                                  peace amanuel,

at first i was thinking not to reply you but if i did not reply you some weak minded people get confuse and hope so they will go so far away which is bad for health,

you talk about logic and did your logic say that how we need to investigate the boook which is actually very easy to understand. and in a language currently more than 40 countires speak, well enough to you logics , to your expaination, and to your honesty , good show my brother keep it up,

in last 14 hundered years i come across from lot of characters like rashad khalifa, and lot more and their mother language was arabic , they did not interprete the quran the way you try to discuss,

is arabic your mother language , but as per my analysis , i dnt think so its your native language, if its not then you need to provide evidence, and the alternation of words is child play in front of language experts , and words oonly give meanings i mean proper meaning when they use in a sentence and subject of topic,

for example amina means the womens who is peaceful.

                                  now see the sentence
                                  amina fight with me,
the women with peace fight with me,

now if i wanted to trick with words i can easily prove this women is not amina, becoz amna cannot fight.

i hope u get it what i try to say and plz for the sake of God bring a clear evidence before claiming such things , dont you know you are playing with fire.

red , yeh obviously quran is innocent ,
                                  peace
                                  God bless you

rotfl The Quran's message is there for everyone to see. "The emperor has no clothes."

elektro Allah is free of need,

we need cloth to save ourself from cold and heat. broad people investigate Allah through broad mind , like scientist , they wonder how the sun is there , how the moon star, galaxies , dark energy , dark matter, is there.

sick minded and hungry people investigate Allah with hungry and sick way showing their rank and caliber like how Allah sleep, eat, wear, be alive, never dead, so on,

so investigate Allah through pure heart,

                                    peace

Compulsive behaviour is not sound, and compulsive Qur'an bashing is not sound either. Those who suffer from that kind of thing should try to address thier own problems, bashing the Qur'an or whatevr ele is not going to solve them.

And ppeople are not idiots, they can recognize wisdom, compulsive beehaviour, bitterness, rage... every thing can be easily recognized.

                                      Salaam

                                        Salam

I wish someone would help me understand that God is love not fear. I'm always scared that I will be punished if I don't pray or read the Koran or do this or that. Any verses in the Koran pertaining to love?

I have been a follower of Quran for about 2.5 years. So far this is what I have understood

Nothing comes for free. If we want love from God we have to learn to love genuinely, for he knows when we are artificial. Loving God does not mean praising him all throughout the day , but being humble. Of course, falling in love with God can't stop the mouth from praising. It, however, is not his need. Anyways, this verse pretty much sums up everything

O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion ? Allah will bring forth a people He will love and who will love Him humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.554

The toughest thing for a human is to be humble.

                                        I say "date" God.

Get to know him but not like a narcissist who usually says prove to me why I should love and care about you. Use the brain and never separate him from reality.

Don't read the Quran. Instead try to understand its verses and apply them in your everyday life. Have faith in him and be self aware (reflect). Truth is that inner self plays a role in determining what happens to us.

That is because Allah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves. And indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.853

                                        peace

                                          Imran,

The Arabic you know and that millions of people know was distorted by malicious clerics, it is bogus and incorrect.

Arabic words basically have only one general meaning and not several different. They speak from their letters which in formation make up words. In case you at least loosely know what each letter means you can know what any unknown word would imply merely by listening to it and reflecting.

Evidence is in the eye of the beholder of course and it is a tough seat with me versus millions of people including so-called language experts (linguists). My knowledge comes from spending countless hours on deciphering Quran and comparing words against ancient Arabic lexicons and the result has been that I found another interpretation which does also form a coherent discourse which in addition sounds incredibly intelligible and more advanced than the standard primitive Quran version which you know of already and which story does not hold up even against simple logic, but become hyped due to the religious context.

I am however not playing with fire. Rabb has given approval and conveyed that "they will come". And also that "No one has interpreted Quran" about one year ago. Quran is a not previously interpreted scripture even if you might believe so.

                                          Amenuel
