What does the quran say about superstitions?
-
Hello, i would like to know what the quran says about superstitions. I recently received a chain mail message which says "if you don't do x a beloved one will go". I believe this is superstition and would even say it's similar to doing association or shirk.
But what does the quran exactly say about superstitions?
Thank you

Those kind of chain mails are really silly, IMO. Their only motivating factor that keep them going is fear. I've been getting multiple spam emails from a so-called "prophet" who stresses the urgency of reading the emails and complying with what he has to say. It's silly.
Here's a webpage you might want to look at http//thequranthesolution.webs.com/superstition.htm (Although according to the Free Minds translation, not all those verses the author references about bad omens actually mention omens.)

superstitions are nasty things,
old supersticiousness, watching a black cat means you need to change your way.
number 13 is witchcraft number or bad omen
twising the eyes left or right indicate the bad and good news, now a days people are sharing the things if u send this message to 10 people u will get reward, if you dnt then face the consequences of punishment, wot the ,,,,,
infact the perosn who dnt take any action its sure nothing will gona harm him but its sure the perosn who send it and make a condition with man made laws , he/shewill defiantely face consequenses. so i suggest as sooon you see messages like this delete it as quick as u can becoz if you share it you are earning a shirk and sin , and all these are devils tools nothing else,
