Quranic Quotes/ Verses.
-
Greetings, All!
I was thinking that with it being Ramadan, it would be nice to put some Quranic quotes (not really looking for verses as they might be too long-but I'm open to suggestions!) on my work intranet pages for staff and students (I work at an University).
Ideally, I am looking for quotes/ verses which reflect universal values. I have a number which I intend to use, but would love to hear any ideas!
I've been off work since Ramadan started and I am off for the whole of next week too-with the exception of being in tomorrow morning and early afternoon, so any prompt suggestions would be greatly welcome!
Thank you in advance, folks!
Ciao.

Peace es,
Here are some verses/portions of verses I like that you might want to consider using (many of them speaking about topics such as how we behave as humankind, our own morality, our places in the world, and what we should be doing to be good humans ))
287 "So how is it that, whenever a messenger brings you something you do not like, you become arrogant, calling some imposters and killing others?"
2177 "Piety is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west, but pious is one who gives money out of love to the relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and those who ask, and to free the slaves; and who contributes towards purification; and those who keep their pledges when they make a pledge, and those who are patient in the face of adversity and hardship and when in despair."
2190 "And fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not aggress."
2195 "Do not contribute to your destruction with your own hands."
2256 "There is no compulsion in the system."
2263 "Kind words and forgiveness are far better than a charity that is followed by harm."
2271 "If you give charity openly, it is good, but if you keep it secret and give it to the needy in private, that is better for you."
325 "Every soul will be paid in full for what it has done, and they will not be wronged."

3117 "A frosty wind strikes and destroys the harvest of people who have wronged themselves."
419 "It is not lawful for you to inherit from the women by force. And do not make difficulty for them so that you may take away some of what you have given them, unless they commit a clear lewdness. And live with them in kindness. If you dislike them, then perhaps you dislike something while God makes in it much good."
475 "And why do you not fight in the cause of God, when the weak among the men and women and children say 'Our Lord, bring us out of this town whose people are wicked '"
486 "And if you are greeted with a greeting, then return an even better greeting or return the same."
58 "Be witnesses for justice, and let not the hatred towards a people make you avoid being just. Be just, for it is closer to righteousness."
532 "Anyone who kills a person for other than murder, or corruption in the land; then it is as if he has killed all the people! And whoever spares a life, then it is as if he has given life to all the people."
545 "And We have decreed for them in it that a life for a life, and an eye for an eye, and a nose for a nose, and an ear for an ear, and a tooth for a tooth, and wounds to be similar; and whoever remits anything of it, then it will cancel sins for him."
548 "For each of you We have made laws, and a structure; and if God had willed, He would have made you all one nation, but He tests you with what He has given you; so strive to do good."
638 "And there is not a creature on the earth, nor a bird that flies with its wings, except they belong to nations like you belong."
861 "And if they seek peace, then you also seek it."

1658-59 "When one of them is given news of the birth of a baby girl, his face darkens and he is filled with gloom. In his shame he hides himself away from his people because of the bad news he has been given. Should he keep her and suffer contempt or bury her in the dust? How ill they judge!"
1676 "God puts forth the example of two men, one of them is mute and he cannot achieve anything, and he is a burden to his guardian. Wherever he points him, he does not come with any good. Is he the same as one who orders good and he is upon a straight path?"
1715 "No soul will bear another's burden."

1071-3 "Have you considered the person who denies the Judgment? It is he who pushes aside the orphan, and does not urge others to feed the needy."

Salaam "Comrox",
Due to having an extremely busy day at work, I completely forgot about publishing quotes/ verses on our intranet pages. Thank you so much for your contribution, and taking the time out to write such an extensive list. Much of what you have written also reflects the parts which I most appreciate of the Qur'an.
God bless.

You're very welcome Sajda. I was happy to do it. I appreciate a lot of these verses too - that's why I included them. I'm sure looking back sometime in the future I'll thank myself for compiling this list as well.
Peace. peace
