God's Help
-
Peace everyone,
I have a question I need your help with.
Through out the Quran we can see that God will ALWAYS help those who call upon God alone and those who are righteous.
That was the reason God helped the Children of Israel and brought that out of Egypt from the tyrant pharoh. However, Adolf Hitler killed a huge number of Jews once again mercilessly. Many of the people he killed were innocent children and even innocent adults whose only crime was believing in one God (our God).
Why did God not do anything to save them like they were saved in the past from the pharoh? Its the same scenario, innocent being killed for beiliving in God?

peace
pharaoh killed a lot of them before they were saved, including innocent adults and children as the signs (ayat) of the reading (quran) say, likewise with Hitler (btw crime is far from the word I'd use for belief in God) plus the Jews in Germany weren't killed or exterminated for believing in God, and the Jews were in the situation and now they aren't because Hitler crumbled much like pharaoh did so how can you say they weren't saved? Germany collapsed due to its military dictatorship that turned on them and the Jews left Germany to form their own land where they began oppressing people much like the children of isreal did in the stories of the reading (quran), so actually the story matches up quite perfectly with what happened in the Holocaust and after
P.S.-i don't think children of isreal=Jews

I can use God's help right now, but it seems God is busy helping other people (as always) and forgetting all about me.

Salaam Green Leaves,
I can use God's help right now, but it seems God is busy helping other people (as always) and forgetting all about me.
Oh, No, no! Don't think that way! That is despair, and despair is the opposite of faith (not hope, sorry! Because hope means uncertainty but faith means SURE D )
Help is on the way, GL. You only have to trust the timing of Allah, that is all! Allah wants to teach you patience and to teach you few good lessons till then. I have been in situations where I would cry" Where are you, Allah? Why don't You do somthing?" But I know now that there are lessons that I have to learn before having my prayers answered ?Taj

Peace Green Leaves,
While I have no idea of what it is you're praying for, please allow me to offer my view.
God is not some Genie where you make a wish and the wish comes true. If that was the case, there would be no poverty, no sickness, no tragedy, no oppression, etc. We'd all be millionaires who live to be a thousand years old. Think about it.
The way I view it is, there are laws in place, put there by the almighty. One must strive to understand the laws. Knowing God is knowing the universe. Whatever your wish is, there is probably a way to achieve it. You have a brain, and a will. Somewhere deep inside you, you have the passion to make your wish come true. My suggestion find someone who's succeeded the way you wish to succeed and study his/her recipe for success.
God helps those who help themselves.
Peace,

Salaam and Good Morning Green Leaves,
First of all, I want to tell you that your avatar is awesome. Look at how it breathes beauty and peace. A scene of Paradise, I imagine
About your wish not coming true as well as mine and many others I'm sure, let me remind you of this There are no disappointments when there are no expectations! So I think it is good to lose hope (in miracles) and start to find other ways, ways that are more realistic!
A close relative told me once, and whenever the subject is up, that Allah doesn't answer prayers! And why would He (Hu)!? The prayers, according to this relative, are a way to paralyze and immobilize people. Not just prayers but also Hajj and other rituals. "Forget about God!" The relative would cry at me!!! roll
I was seeking this relative for advice!!! And look what I get! rollSalaam Tay,
My suggestion find someone who's succeeded the way you wish to succeed and study his/her recipe for success.
If it is possible, that advice is great ?
Now back to Green Leaves
I want to ask you, GL, are you in good health? If you are, then that is all you need to have your wish come true. As a matter of fact you should consider your paryers as being anwered when you have good health because good health is the only means to reach your goals, right?Taj

Peace Green Leaves,
You asked, regarding "God helps those who help themselves"...
I wish that were true. Where you ever in such a situation?
Yes. Many, many, many times.
Granted, there are things that I hope and pray for which I have not attained. But I can see where I need to put in the effort to reach those goals.
Nevertheless, this is about your despair. My guess is what you're wishing for is something that you have little control over, or so you think- which leads you to feel helpless. This, in turn, leads you to wonder why it is you aren't getting what you so dearly desire. You may go through the checklist of good things you've done that might be deserving of a little reward. This is the wrong approach. Your frame of mind is self-sabotaging. You have to understand that your own mind is your best friend, or your worst enemy. The mind is an answer machine, not an answering machine, but a machine designed to give answers. Ask yourself a question, and you will give yourself an answer. This doesn't mean it's the right answer, or the wrong answer, but an answer nonetheless.
So what happens when you ask yourself a negative question, such as "why do bad things always happen to me?" You are putting your mind in a position to offer only one possible outcome, and that is, a negative answer. You will come up with things like "because God is punishing me", or "because I don't deserve good things", etc.
I hope you get the point.
One must be very careful in selecting the right wording and content of self-inquiry. Instead of asking, "why does God not answer my prayers", you should be asking, "how can I achieve what I want?".
Peace,
Tay -
Salaam Tay,
One must be very careful in selecting the right wording and content of self-inquiry. Instead of asking, "why does God not answer my prayers", you should be asking, "how can I achieve what I want?"
But it is not always possible to achieve what we want, and that is the problem. Sometimes there is no way but to completely deny/ignore our wish or need in order to have some peace of mind even if for a moment of time! Maybe the question should be"How can I have peace of mind?"

Peace Taj,
But it is not always possible to achieve what we want, and that is the problem.
It's difficult to discuss in the abstract like this. Please provide an example of something that is impossible to achieve.
Sometimes there is no way but to completely deny/ignore our wish or need in order to have some peace of mind even if for a moment of time!
Again, I need an example. If we're talking intangible concepts such as friendships/companions, then there are ways to channel our energy, shift our focus. What we think we are missing is often staring us in the face.
Maybe the question should be"How can I have peace of mind?"
That's always a good question to ask oneself.
Peace,

Peace Green Leaves,
what I am (or better put I was) asking for was a very spirtual thing, an understanding, but 6 years and no help...makes one think what's God doing all the time...? From a 15 year old, I'll be turning 21 this month and no help from God.
I think my original reply still holds true. Do you expect God to just download an understanding to you?
If I can work my best to achieve things, then what's the point of having God in the first place, no?
Again, it seems you view God as some wishmaster who has left you out. God is within, and all around you- closer to you than your jugular vein, yet omnipotent. He's not an old man in the sky striking with lightning bolts and spawning rainbows.
But again, the "thing" that I want is something to the best of my knowledge no human has been able to understand/obtain, so I guess I won't ever too.
No offense, dear Green Leaves, but at 21, I sincerely doubt you've explored all your options.
I won't ask God for anything nor will my prayers ask anything no matter how much I want it.
There's a big world out there. I wouldn't give up so soon.
how do you Taj and Tay maintain such high spirit when it comes to life?
As bad as it gets, it can always be worse. I'm grateful for what I have, for what I've been given. I can read, and write, I can walk and talk, I can work and go to school, I can ask questions without fear of being executed for it, I have food and water, and clothes on my back. That puts me in the top 10% of the world's population. For that, I am eternally grateful.
I could have been born into poverty, disabled, orphaned, hungry, and helpless, like millions of people are. I didn't get to make that decision. The Creator blessed me with it. Life is good. I suggest you take a good look around you and take a few moments to reflect.
Peace,
Tay -
Peace all,
I appreciate your responses and like I indicated in my previous messeges, I was feeling a bit dull (you know one of those depressing days) and I guess I I lost a little hope in God for that time being.
But that being said, now I am feeling a-okay and have your good comments. This wouldn't be the way to start a new year, so I'll drop all my previous posts (just so it doesn't beocme a bit like 'God doesn't ever help me' because God has helped me a lot - all the time and I am very thankful for everything).
God is within, and all around you- closer to you than your jugular vein, yet omnipotent.
What's a jugular vein?
Thanks for your replies.

Peace be upon you Green Leaves,
First and Foremost, can you send me a large copy of your avatar??
It is fantastic!! I would like it for one of my wallpapers.
Now to the topic.

Perhaps the Jews were taught that a man was going to LITERALLY spilt the Sea for them, so while they waited for it to happen LITERALLY, they were killed.
I hope those who see these stories as literal will get the message.
The God tells us his help comes trhough patience and SALAAT.
WHile others are content to accpet any old understanding of salaat, the God clearly demonstartes to us that ths "salaat" is the PROCESS of learning. Knowledge is Power. If they were patient and continued to study the God's Laws in the universe, He would have given them the help they needed, as He does for us all.
Never despiar of the God's Mercy. The God's Mercy is not forgiving of breaking rules, it is in His making the World BASED ON LAWS so we can LOGICALLY find our way through this life.
