Well, so far what I have seen is that those who became exMuslim here didn't take the time to change themselves using Quran. Just understanding a few verses and surahs is not enough. The two things which contribute to losing faith are aggression and pride. Becoming Quran alone does not mean we become so better than all others that God will forgive our urge to be smugs.

    Peace,

yes many people including myself, struggle with pride, and must learn to humble ourselves, there is a very good lesson in the quran, with the account of Qaroon, who god blessed, but he turned arrogant.

we should always remember to be humble, as god reminds us in the quran, just because we call ourselves a certain label etc, none of that matters, god judges us on our righteousness.

2111 And they said "None shall enter the Paradise except those who are Jewish or Nazarenes;" this is what they wish! Say "Bring forth your proof if you are truthful."
2112 No; whoever submits himself to God, while doing good, he will have his recompense with his Lord. There will be no fear over them, nor will they grieve.
2113 And the Jews say "The Nazarenes have no basis," and the Nazarenes say "The Jews have no basis," while they are both reciting the Book! Similarly, those who do not know have said the same thing. God will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in what they dispute.

this may be talking about the Jews and Nazarenes in this context, but it is just as applicable to us, just because we claim to follow the quran alone, noone gets a free pass on the day of judgement..

    we have to remember..

569 Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Sabians, and the Nazarenes, whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day and does good works; then they will have nothing to fear nor will they grieve.

262 Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Nazarenes, and the Sabians, whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day and does good works; they will have their recompense with their Lord, and there is no fear upon them, nor will they grieve.

2192 This is your nation, one nation, and I am your Lord so serve Me.
2193 And they disputed in the matter among themselves. Each of them will be returned to Us.
2194 So whoever does good works and he is a believer, then his efforts will not be rejected and We will record it for him.

we are all human beings, subject to judgement on the last day, and no one gets a free pass.

    Peace.

no actually what I say , if a person don't believe in God he will no fear of any thing and there are hard times come in the life and he probably plan to scam a bank or do fradlents things as he have no fear at all.. its not mean every atheist is doing it or thinking like it.. but what I say chances are more than believer.. a believer who afraid God and believe on judgement day will try to clear all debts of sins here . on the other hand disbeliever is carefree. which means he is clearly on wrong path and he selected himself a wrong way... not a case with every atheist in general.. I know some of my friends are atheist and they are really nice people

Peace, i see what you mean now.

i must say though, non-believers are not entirely carefree, i think many people fear critisism of others, and also probably fear 'the law' and many dont want to put their freedom at risk, or get caught for anything.. i know i used to be like this, so i mean i was not entirely carefree.

      Peace

Salam alikum, keep have noticed a dangerous trend among ex Muslims, us of them claim to have been followers of the quran only movement, in such any sunni or Shia who become a quran only they are more likely to be on the branch of leaving islam duo to the fact that alot of ex Muslims were quran only muslims before they leave the faith

Do you think this is the case?

Where did the Quran tell us to follow the books of people like Bukhari in the first place?

Nowhere in the sectarian interpretation of it.

Indeed, so why do people confuse the sectarian doctrines in name of Mohammed with the Word of God - the Quran in the first place.

I also had that thought, am i going to leave submission? Is this the first step? But eventually my Faith increased by the will of God. And obviously it was a test.

            May my Lord guide me.

            Peace.

God is surely test you me everybody...

when God is saying something he must apply it to us..

I havnt see anybody throughout the history and present age who can say he is satisfied with life... God know inside us so he put a test on us in which we taste extreme suffer, but its just a test we are usually unaware about resuls , In the cases of beleivers and patient one God turns the winds on the otherside and they win in long term,, here and hereafter..

few months ago I was very afraid of something it was a big test .. still going on but I decided not to worry about it.. as I know my lord is my God and he will protect me wherever I will go..

sometimes satan put ideas of hopefulness and this is the key of turning the faith , human being want results very quickly even somewhere in quran God was advising to prophet dnt be hasten towards my procedure of work , dnt you remember about the companion of fish who hasten,,

so patience is the key the laws of nature works slowly and it give long term benefit to the righteous and long term loss to wicked people...

Because Quran only Muslim do not get the right information always, i think that this will happen more often in the future and that is why i think we should have some topic that are discussed and for sure are researched should be in a extra section, maybe called 100 % True or investigated and confirmed. If 90 % or more feel the same about the meaning or purpose of a verse for a example, than this should go in this section. So that if someone who becomes Quran only Muslim can go and first read about things he or she does not have to investigate. I think this forum should take such a step.
We are followers of Quran, but we also do not have all the answers. So when a sectarian Muslim becomes a Quran only Muslim he expects that everything will be made clear to them and that it will go fast, like he is used to happen from a imam. They probably are not used to search for information by them self and they have many questions that nobody can answer, than comes the question to them, if this is Quran only and they do not have all answers, and they discuss so much, what am i doing here?
I also have trouble with many topics and discussions, but i am patient and i think very good about these topics, in 2 months i did learn some things, but it goes slow. So a section of topics that most of us agree on that the statement is true should have a special section. For example the word Ameen in Al Fatiha, i would like to know if this is from Quran or added. I want to know this and this should be a topic that is easy to investigate and to make a final conclusion about this.

It's added? Where do you read "Ameen" at the end of chapter 1? So that case is closed. Don't worry to much, because learning takes time.

It took me months to get to a better understanding of "Salaat", it took months..

So be patiente, because God is with the patience.

You need to go over the posts of exMuslims here to know what I am talking about. I don't see you falling under the category I hinted. The pride they had was becoming embarrassing because it was taking a radical as well as clownish form. Like me, I am sure most members here don't want others of different beliefs to be harmed. That's why, I always say its good that they are not part of the movement anymore.

I think we are all like this. We all wish to be served the final solutions, but life is not like that.

I also have trouble with many topics and discussions, but i am patient and i think very good about these topics, in 2 months i did learn some things, but it goes slow.

It is totally natural to have progress go slowly. Actually, impatience can be viewed as a form of resistance (although it might sound odd). Slow progress is the best progress.

... we should have some topic that are discussed and for sure are researched should be in a extra section, maybe called 100 % True or investigated and confirmed. I think this would be too much like organised religion, i.e. what we already have. It would be impossible to agree on things like this. Also, stuff that everyone agrees on, like one should not murder or steal, I think there is no need to separate such things and put them in a special "agreed upon box". It would be rather redundant.
Actually, deciding what is true and what is not true, in order for people to "buy" these packages is very much against the spirit of the Quran, and life in general. We are told to verify everything. We are told that the masses would lead us astray. We are also told to be careful not to follow our ancestors blindly.
We need to be careful to solidly declare things as truths. Even "truths" in science change when new discoveries are made. Reality doesn't change. God's truths don't change, but our knowledge and understanding does.
