FM Quran Contact prayer to "Law-giving"

Salam all,
The older FM Quran physical version uses "contact prayer", example 56.
The online version, which is updated regularly, has "law-giving" instead of contact in many verses, including 56.
What is the "law-giving"? The word doesn't exist in dictionaries and translators, and it's really hard to understand what it means.
(Please everyone, no comments that the FM Quran is incorrect etc. I'm just looking for the definition and meaning of the word and meaning of the word in the context. Thank you!)

I imagine it relates to The Quran and its recitation in some way.

I am looking into this as I am not happy with law-giving.
Will revert in a couple of days as "learning-process" is most likely replacement.
I was thinking the word Salat could mean 'support' or 'reaching-out/follow closely'. A colleague of mine believes as-Salat refers to the Reading (Quran) itself. I can understand why you picked 'law-giving'.
But why not just leave it as 'Salat' in the English translation and let the reader decide? It's obvious Salat can have a wide meaning. What you could do is include an extra page in the preface with an explanation about the possible meanings of Salat. Seems like the best decision in stead of changing it every now and then )

actually i was also suggesting you to let the word salat in its original form in translation and whatever best understanding you have you make a side note for them... it will help readers to understand and use their own reason/sense/aqal... traditional translators also translate it to namaz/prey which is also require questions in most of the places...
although the decision is up to you..
becoz it may be difficult to comprehend for the one who is beginner to quran... salat /zaka/ sabar are words in wide extenshion vary from situation to situation...

Thank you all for the input. I needed to translate the word else it is not really a translation of the Quran.
The final thought I have settled on is "education-process" and "educate/education" as its verb.
You can see it now in the PDF version online to get a feel of how the meaning flows in the various verses.
