As-salmu alaykum my brothers & sisters of humanity! I like to ask a question boggling my mind for a while.

A lot islamophobic catholics claims that God (SWT) in Al-Quran is a moon god but in Surah 41 Ayat 37, God (SWT) says 4137 And from among His signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun, nor the moon; you shall prostrate to God who has created them, if it is truly Him you serve.

So where does this pagan moon god these so called christians are claiming come from?

      Salam,

      Here's an excerpt from wikipedia.

The notion of "Allah as Moon-God" has had some notability within certain currents of Evangelicalism in the United States since the 1990s. The idea derives from The moon-god Allah in the archeology of the Middle East (1994) by Robert Morey. The argument is that "Allah" was the name of a Moon god in pre-Islamic Arabic mythology, the implication being that "Allah" as the term for God in Islam implies that "Muslims are worshipping a false god".

The idea has been taken up in the cartoon tracts of Jack Chick. The use of a lunar calendar and the prevalence of crescent moon imagery in Islam is said to be the result of this origination.

Seek refuge with God from these people, they haven't read the Quran so they make false claims.

      Salam

I know but they keep claiming it its in Al-Quran and i shown a verse that refutes that wierd claim and also if you look in the arabic Bible, the name Allah (SWT) is in the bible as well. So the so called christians are not only accusing us as pagans but themselves aswell. Such hypocrisy. rotfl

Not only Arabic Christians are using Allah as The God. Christians on Malta are using Allah also, because it means The God. They were conquered by Arabs, but they keep using this Name.
Avoid discussing with such a people, they're kadhiboon. And we were ordered to stop talking with those who're making jokes on our 'iman.
On the other hand, our ignorance can make things worse, because most of us are following superstition, even if it's real Islam, without any knowlege why we believe/are doing something.

          Allah's bless and salam.

            Salam,

I would usually avoid these people, but if you insist D

Ask them for proof. If they say Quran, ask for verse. Tell them about Abraham's story and that 4137.

676 When the night covered him, he saw a planet, and he said ?This is my Lord.? But when it disappeared he said ?I do not like those who disappear.?
677 So when he saw the moon rising, he said ?This is my Lord.? But when it disappeared he said ?If my Lord does not guide me, then I will be among the wicked people!?
678 So when he saw the sun rising, he said ?This is my Lord, this is bigger.? But when it disappeared he said ?My people, I am innocent of what you have set up.?
679 ?I shall turn my face to the One who initiated the heavens and the earth, in monotheism, and I am not of the polytheists.?

            Salam

Yeah it gets more cartoonish when some of them say that Islamic symbol Moon seen in mosques and all is also a sign of us worshiping moon. That symbol actually belonged to Turkish empire. Nothing to do with Islam.

It means it is ignorance then.
