Why were we created?

An English translation of the Quran - 5156 I did not create the Jinn and mankind except to serve Me.
So God did not create the Jinn, and mankind except to serve Him. Well, the next question arrives What does "serving Him" mean?

That's the question right. Allah wants us to worship/server him but he doesn't need us to worship/serve. As even the angels mentioned they are already their to worship/serve him, so why create someone who will deny him. So that points to the fact that worshiping him is just for our own sake. So I don't know.

There are many "speculations" to be honest. No one can tell you exactly the purpose of God's creation to us, only God can tell you "why He did it" although God did say in the shown verses that the purpose is to "follow/serve/worship/" yet those definitions and their nuances themselves are quiet vague . Perhaps that is the point ?
One would be that, there are 2 places Heaven & Hell...God shall populate the two after Judging who merits going to heaven or hell after passing the "limited" test of life on earth. This one is heavily backed by the Quran or atleast, the common interpretation of it.
3973 Those who reverenced their Lord will be led to Paradise in throngs. When they get to it, and its gates are opened, its guards will say, "Peace be upon you; you have won. Therefore, you abide herein forever."
3974 And they will say, ?All praise is due to God Who has fulfilled His promise to us, and made us inherit the land(Al-ARD, the earth? or the land?). We can live in beautiful dwellings of our choice in this Garden.? How bounteous is the reward of sincere workers!The other one would be that Heaven & Hell are not "material" places and more like "states of being of the soul"...One who grows enough (God judges how much is "enough" in this world (spiritually i.e Godly i.e by following God's way) shall reach Heaven state, and the opposite for Hell state.
Now there is something very important to put in mind, surely the believers on earth are among those who "prostrate" to God "willingly" however God obviously doesn't need us to be "prostrating" to Him down here, then why ? Perhaps God is harvesting the good from the bad among His creation that has a free will. Man Of Faith has a view similar to this in more details. Or God is willing to populate two places, Heaven & hell....
This is asking on God's intentions...
It may be that it isn't revealed for us at all and we have been given a "small simplistic idea" on the matter.Finally, I find such questions digging too deep...it is the sort of question where the deeper you go the least you know and usually come out empty handed.

Our Creator loves to create and every creation has a purpose. Since every creation has a purpose, a failed creation gets destroyed.
Those who meet their purpose as required by our creation will get the following
A minority of us will become one of those given administrative rights. The world we live in is a test. Some do so well that they are given the rights to administer and become a viceroy of the creator.
Another minority (but larger than the above) of us will go to heaven and become the Creator's pets ie be provided for by the Creator without effort, minimal effort and less effort than what we encounter in this world.The majority becomes firewood because they failed to meet the purpose of creation, an eternal punishment for failure.
Some people argue that eternal punishment in hell is inequitable and cannot be the Creator's nature.
Since it is eternal punishment then the chances given must be many fold via reincarnation into this world until the end of days.The counter argument for one chance instead of reincarnation is the gift of life and the chance of becoming a viceroy or a beloved pet for eternity can never be reciprocated by the creation. The Creator has stated that humankind was made with hastiness as one of our attributes and it is us that accepted the challenge/gift in the first place possibly without contemplating the risk we saw the 'lottery' and grabbed it!
It is the absolute will of the Creator to grant and this cannot be questioned. Those who disobey can be condemned depending on the creation's closeness to the Creator. Unlike english law, we are judged based on what we truly know - true ignorance is bliss.Our Creator truly loves creation, chances are given many fold, in fact in a short lifetime of 60 years, countless chances are given. In fact it is enough to just escape hell than trying to strive for perfection, the advice is to change consistently and progressively - its a lifetime of change or to change progressively based on the minimal 10 commandments.
Purpose of creation? Read the Quran and reflect on yourself and ask yourself why am I here? If truly you can't find the answer - true ignorance is bliss - only you and the Creator knows who is lying.
Based on the 10 commandments alone one can reflect whether we are progressing or otherwise. The 1st commandment - many have already failed here (including myself). The fact that we work and support the current system of administration and economics mean that we have created another god. 'In god we trust' on the USD note is precisely the newly created god of today - money - almost everybody will say they cannot survive without money thus that is the evidence that you cannot comply with the 1st commandment.

he creates whatever he wills...
nobody can stop him/question him from creating whatever he wills...
he know why he create all this nobody else know....(including angels)a famous saying of God i know what you dnt know?
human being always think by his own understanding... thats y things get crumbled/confused..
when we come at the point regarding purpose of creation
scientists are creator they also create whatever they will in the limited way...and when they wanted to create something it is always a purpose behind it..
car created for the purpose of transport ..
machines created for the purpose of human ease..so we also look the same way and infact ask from God why he create us all..? whats the purpose?
people think he wanted worship. he wanted serving... he want to be high... and stuff like that...
but he is free of need.. our minds will never get answer of this myth untill it will upgraded to the next level...
a question based on human understanding can always give answer based on human understanding.. whatever the theory purpose answer we will say its just our thinking ..
God knows best what is the purpose for all this.. definately he did not created all this for mere play...

We and so does other things inside this universe, including billions of other living form and dead matter spread over zillions of galaxies and also to mentions the existence of zillions of other universes other than our universe to serve God's will.
Or in other words, because God will it so...
All of us (and them) and anything on any universe are servant to God.. each serve with their own specific and unique way..

I had this question since years. But I understood something but still it is not 100% clear.

If you notice in 2014 in the red highlighted part, the last letter is which indicates my or me in translation. Like to serve me which is missing in 5156. That means the translation of 5156 is
5156 And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to serve.
There is no me in it. Then two questions araise.
- Whom to serve?
- Why to serve?
Answer for question number 1
Either serve Allah or anyone other than Allah.Answer for question number 2
To survive / For our survival.That makes me understand we need to serve Allah only for our survival that He is the only provider of everything.
As we have lot of proves/signs to accept others or their properties, etc.
But we don't have any such physical proves / signs to know that Allah exist.By serving Him alone we can see lot of signs within ourselves and in our surroundings which makes us realize that Allah do exist.
I found many people who say that they know Allah is their Creator and they believe in Him are just saying so without realizing it.They never ask Allah to make them a superstar.
They never rely on Allah when they are sick but rush to the doctors.
They never believe that Allah could solve their problems when they are in troubles but they themselves try to resolve the problems.
etc. etc. etc...This is all because they actually don't believe in Allah.
They learned from their family/friends/others about Allah, but they themselves didn't realize Him.I think this is the purpose for our creation to realize Him by serving Him.

yes brother jaffar i fully agree with you , but .. i have a question or may b my understanding...
if we look in to this huge cosmos which is sooooooo huge that we have to calculate distances in light years and its million of light years from one galaxiy to another and millions of galaxies ... still expanding by huge speed...
if we see is it just for this small planet ... as i know one theory suggest that all life of earth cannot be possible if all that system of galaxies is not in harmony , on other words just for running this small planet of life all that stuff is there or it can be another reason behind this..
actually i i have an idea , is it posibble that the heaven/janna what God will create after the final judgement will be created by that stuff that y it all there getting purposeful ... so that we may pay heed that its like raw material for heaven.. may b i m wrong... but when scientist claim that all that huge system of cosmos is a neccessity of life on planet earth .. it makes me think deep .. although its another sign when God say us to reflect upon creation how we created it and perfected it...

Self Importance is the product of arrogance.
And arrogance is the product of ignorance..The ancient chinese used to think the entire heaven and earth were created only for them and they're in the center of 'everything', that's why they call their own country "Zhong Guo".. the "Central Nation". And so does other human in the past...
The actual reality might not be in agreement to their self-importance world view..When the planet called earth doesn't exist.. it doesn't cause any damage to the cosmos...
