    Interesting.

Granted a private meeting with God maybe Musa was the first.

And if one attains believer status does one get a private meeting like that?

First homosexuality now this? Come on kid.
You're seriously doubting that Ibrahim was a believer? You are doing good things, keep it at kid.

Backbiter "Man, Abdul, will never get that position he's applying for, it's out of his league"
Real friend "Dude, that's unfair! Abdul has been working hard"
Backbiter "Yeah whatever! You and the rest are always sticking up for that lazy sloth and talking about 'how he is so qualified', I'm sorry, but an associate degree and 60 hours of volunteering does not make him qualified!"
Real friend "What are you saying!? Abdul is total qualified and I'll be the first to say it!"

Obviously Real friend knows he's not the first to say it, it is merely a matter of expression. Figurative speech to demonstrate the degree of eagerness to support...

Man I wonder how much people read...or perhaps is English not your first languages (it is neither mine however)

        Salaaaaam

Was Moses the first believer, or was his statement fallible? Is "first" a confusing translation for "foremost" or "strongest-in-faith?"

        a) What if the previous prophets were somehow forgotten by then and Musa did not really know much about Ibrahim? I can't recall Musa saying "I believe in the God of Ibrahim", please refer if I forgot.

        b) What if Musa is talking about quality (He will be the best one,"foremost" or "strongest-in-faith" as you wrote ) and not raking (the first one)? He is the first given a book after all...

Of course Moses was not a believer. Moses was a knowing man with confidence and a man of "God". He had "God's" spirit in him.

And those who do not care to believe that can read 3872. Your own sectarian interpretation says "blown into from own spirit". But it is one thing to live up to the expectations and not be misled by Satan. Who of you are like Rabb? How many of you behave like your Rabb? You will obviously not if you are emotional like this primitive primate you evidently are barred within.

The test is to Be Who Is, i.e. to actually use the spirit bestowed on you. Or otherwise why would you be blown into of "God's" spirit if I may ask?

            Come on. Wake up.

            Be well
            Amenuel

Of course Moses was not a believer.

An English translation of the Quran - 7143 So when Moses came to Our appointed time, and his Lord spoke to him, he said "My Lord, let me look upon you." He said "You will not see Me, but look upon the mountain, if it stays in its place then you will see Me." So when his Lord revealed Himself to the mountain, He caused it to crumble; thus Moses fell unconscious. When he awoke, he said "Glory to You, I repent to You and I am the first of those who believe."

An English translation of the Quran - 172 And We gave Moses the Book and We made it a guidance for the Children of Israel "Do not believe in any besides Me."

An English translation of the Quran - 4027 And Moses said "I seek refuge with my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning"

I wrote not a believer because the word amen does not mean believe but implies on confidence. Belief is that you think something to be true but is not certain about it and others can say "that is your belief". Faith is an English word better aligning with what amen means. "I find your lack of faith disturbing", corpus sample from Star Wars. Amen is close to secure and in some forms it refers to the feeling of security.

If you had used your brain instead of just replying something based on whatever immediately popped up in your mind with no due contemplation you would have associated it with what I continued to write about knowing man with confidence. He was certain about God as in being in direct communion, just like myself.

If I say I believe something it means I think something to be true, but I do not know for sure. When you no longer merely believe you know it. I know about God and my faith (confidence) is strong because of that. You cannot say my lack of faith is disturbing, but you can say my faith is disturbing.

                Amenuel

5822 You will not find any people who believe in God and the Last Day leaning towards those who oppose God and His messenger, even if they were their parents, or their children, or their siblings, or their kin. For these, He decrees faith (Emaan)into their hearts, and supports them with a Spirit from Him, and He admits them into estates with rivers flowing beneath them; abiding therein. God is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. These are the party of God. Most assuredly, the party of God are the winners.

I agree, the believer thing is very shallow specially in our days as you described. But you can see that Emaan(translated to Faith) which I believe is the origin of Muumin that is commonly translated to Believer. So a Muumin is the Faithful or the one who hold Faith

This is a common definition for "Faithful".....

                  http//www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/faithful

As mediocre as it is, it does fit the description of a "believer" whom God has given "Faith" in his heart.

Amen is a word meaning confidence, you are secure in something. Faith is a decent word in English, but also faith is two-faceted as it could connotes a little on belief. But belief is a very weak word in my opinion, it connotes stronger on assumption than actual confidence in something.

And the amen used in Quran strictly implies on confidence and security, that you are comfortable in yourself in relationship to whatever you are confident about, even if it would be confident in yourself.

In Arabic if it says that you are Mumin it means you are secure from within your person as opposed to restless and insecure. The condition is radiating in your calm and unemotional being.

Unfortunately, this is improperly conveyed as the word allah is taken to mean God while it means being and amen b'allah speaks of confidence in being, IN MY OPINION as according to my study. Anyway the main point is that the word amen does have to do with confidence and personal sensation of security in something. The word faith suits quite well because it implies that you are settled and peaceful with something as you trust it will be well.

Amen does not have anything to do with faithful as in reliable to someone's cause.

Amen as an exclamation means "be sure" and you could regard Muminin to mean "ascertained ones", people who have no doubts and are secure in whatever they are engaged in.

The word you are looking for is to acknowledge, acknowledgement
