I am glad found this site. I have been here for a while now but decided to introduce myself anyway.
I am a Quranist right now. I am from Azerbaijan but I have studied in Germany. Currently, I am back in my homecountry. I got inspiration from my grandfather as he belonged to the Shia sect of Islam. However, he was quite fond of learning and interested in science (elementary cosmology, nature etc.). I guess my family influenced me in a way so I did not become a Salafi kind of guy. The family did not really teach me religion or anything.
Yet, I did become an atheist. For me religion was something that did not interest me at all. I did not care for it. I disbelieved in God after I started hating him. It did not last long (atheism). For me, atheism was illogical. So, after some time I decided to look at the Qur'an once more. It seemed fine but I struggled with context (''violent'' verses) and tried to give up on the idea. However, I observed patience and was able to understand the aspects of the Qur'an. Finally, everything became clear to me.
I decided to observe Qur'an alone and not the hadith/sunnah. I thought there was a vast difference between the two. But even then, I did not know that the Quranists existed. After some time, I found out about Mr Yuksel and his translation of the Qur'an. At the same time I found translation of the Quran by monotheist group. This translation was clearer to me than classical/traditional.
Articel after article, I ended up finding articles related to this site. I decided to register. That is how I ended up here

I wonder what are the key ideas of life as an atheist, if you happened to have some thought about life as an atheist, in comparison to life as a Shii. Did you feel any differences ?

Not really as I wasn't religious in the first place. I just think I belonged, somewhat, to shiism before I became a Quranist. -

Not religious... that's a very valuable asset...
Beware though.. Quranism has started to become a religion of it's own.. -

I advice you to not call yourself a Quranist, and i also advice you to read the Quran in the Guidance and Light of the Gospel, Psalms and Torah.
