A question about the Quran

I have a question. Could be quite wierd because it is usually the first one you would ask when you go to the forum. But anyways.

What do you think is the main purpose of the Quran?

The scripture does mention that it is a reminder and that the prophets are the bringers of the ''reminder'' to the people.

Is it a moral reminder or rather a reminder of the idea that there is only One God?

I mean, if human beings can be moral without religions, and that the good behaviour can be inherent then - why did God send us scriptures?

Considering this, the Quran is simply encouraging to be moral but the main message (or a reminder) is that there is only One God.

Another argument to support this idea is that God reminds us about the prophets who brought the same message. They never talk about morality, though they do fight oppression (which is technically shirk - Men who thought to be gods). Not to mention the verses which encourage to observe nature to find God.

From another point, We can't just take genes as factor for morality (good behaviour). Nurture and external environment is as necessary. For example. Those people who are atheists but moral is simply a result of good nurture from parents who were more religious (spiritual at least). Not to mention their grandparents who were even more religious. All I am saying is that their good behaviour is based on the religious instructions that came to him/her from former generation.

It is like a natural selection. Genes adapt to natural environment and change, providing altered traits to their children. I think, a religious practice over generations could be an intrinsic part of our brain, at least in a pshycological way. All we can do is wait for atheists to have grandchildren and compare their morality to which of their parents, grandparents or great grandparents.

Thus, Qur'an does act both as a moral guidence and a reminder of truth. As God tells us to be rightoeus. Again, verses like God guides whomever he will can hint to not simply prayer or faith but also good behaviour.

God is one, everything is one. Your proposal as to the reminder divides existence between us who are already naturally endowed and God, who if He did not exist we would not even notice.

It is not so, and the Qur'an tells us it is not so. Everything is one. If God did not create every single instance our ecistence and everything else's existence, everything would vanish, nothing would be. God is the One source of everything and anything. If the source ceases everything ceases.

We are not alone, we are not eings alone, we are beings that are part of the One thing.

We are tied to God whether we state tht in words or never thing of stting such a thing or even the idea of God.And our intimste self knows it. Tht is why "atheists" can be moral. And that intimate being tht knows is the remembrance of our real being, the remembrance of God, of our continuous source. The source of each one of our instants.

The Qur'an is the proclamation of that. If we find it it guidance n and relief so much better for us, if not too bad for us on tht count.
