Each inheritor has a part in inheritance, his or her part. There is o such a thing as a part for two people. Therefore there is o such thing as a single part for two females. It is a part for each female. The original says to the male as the part of the two females. The two females have each one her part, thhis part is the one the males part is like, not twice that part.

The formulation used in the translations of aya is many times that the male gets twice what the female. That is not what the text says.

And in fact that was what was done historically up to the beginningof the abbasid era, till that time the females got a full part but the Abbasids for their own ends changed it and made it the male twice the female.

As you will have noticed the distribution of inheritance is made to revolve around the female inheritors, first they are provided and then the rest is fitted around.

    Salaam

Wait so daughters getting half of the sons is the default system UNLESS the parents want to give them equal?
And they can change it if they want to? That does sound more fair.

the first principle is , its not a law that is practicing by lot of muslims today..(the shares ratio)

if a father wills to give all his wealth to daughter , due to a reason that sons are money waster/gambler then its his choice to do whatever with his money/inheritence..

but if he miss the will then a general rules is there , in most of the cases i see the male is doing duties for things like , maintenience/food buying/doing work and lot of stuff..

the author of book sounds intelligent and aware about everything whats going on..

It is not so, The default is as stated in my previous message. The number of daughters determines what themales get. Sameas with sisters and brothers, and if there are two female daughters annd one male the three of them get the same. Nobodyinherits a part to shar with another, each inherits her or his part. Each daughter gets her full part nota share inncollective part that is an invention of the politicans of the Abbasid era. Very convenient for male interests and pride of course.

Whether theythe males support their family or not it is neither here nor there. There are and there have always been many families where the female supports or even she is the only support, and she bears the children, sothat events out completely the male "support". If she is going to get afterwards of her inheritance, what is the advantage of a support that may or may not exist?

On the other hand we know the drift of the whole "traditional" thinking on the female half the male. Very cnvenient and suitable. Themale always gets his previleges at the source and the woman must beg to get a little of hers.

We know and we see how it works.

            Salaam

I seriously have no idea what you are saying here.

I have 12 dollars left for my children
              case 1 --> 3 daughters and 1 son
              case 2 --> 2 daughters and 1 son

Isn't it in both cases that the male and female get the same amount?
In the first example both male and females get 3 dollars each and in the second both the male and females get 4 dollars.
So I do not understand what you mean with the number of daughters determines what the males get, am I missing something?

I mean why not just say the males and females get the same.

I know there is wisdowm behind girls getting half inheritance. however does that wisdom stand today?

Is there any wisdom in it?
Because woman is a sub-male, lower in ranks than male, not as wise as male and not as good as male especially in terms of fighting a war...
That was the 'wisdom' within patriarchal culture.... which is the dominant culture on the earth today...

On those tradition, all inheritance goes to women and men got nothing..
And surprise surprise one of them is a muslim majority society.. yet still maintain their all inheritance goes to women tradition...

i dont mean to deny anything Allah said, but can someone just shed more light on the half inheritance for a girl.

                Why did you say that?
Do you have FEAR that Allah will get angry because you've deny his writing in a book and torture you for all eternity after you die?

Not I am saying. You are as good as I am at reading the Qur'an. The Qur'an formulates it that way. God has chosen to formulate it that way.
The Qur'an says is, as far a I can ascertain

"God instructs you as to your children to the male like the part of the two females, and if there are women more than two, to them two thirds of what left and if it is one woman to her half...

According to that and aside as to why God says it the way He says it (not me I say), in fact it seems that your numbers are wrong. If there are three daughters and one son, if two thirds go to the women one third would go to the son, each woman would get abit less than the son, but on the other hand if there are three women and three sons, two thirds would still go to the women and one third to the sons, so each sons would get noticeably less than each woman. So the Qur'an formulation does make a difference. The part of the females is fixed first, then on what is left the parts are allotted to the males. It says so, doesn't it?

To me it seems that what is attempted is to give more to those who are numerically weaker, asif expected that those of the same sex would be more amenable to share in their fortune or to pool it for the whole. For instance if there isonlyone woman, and to her were given less she could easily become destitute. Butif there are seven women and they would still get two thirds, they might be able to get along sharingon thhe whole, or at least some of them might do better if they are able to pool resoources.

                      Salaam

Location has clearly been described in that article.. start booking your flight ticket and see it with your own eyes...
Oh you want the 'muslim majority which defile Allah law of inheritance by maintaining their tradition of all inheritance to women'? Grab a flight to Singapore then another flight to Padang, Indonesia.
