Do you think Quranic jurisprudence is compulsory? Specifically, laws of punishments.
What I mean is the laws punishing adultery, theives, oppressors etc.?
If I tell, I leave judgement to God, doesn't it make it right as forgiveness is better? Even more than punishing someone?

However, for example, lashing adulterer. Quran tells not to have pity on them. So it means it is compulsory and I can't say "i"ll leave it to God" or "I forgive"?

In some instances it is hard as we can't practice some of the punishments within some countries.

    P.S
Could someone more knowledgeable than me give me a list of things that are part of Quranic law? List of punishments ( that should be done by us)?

    Peace

Hand cutting is a myth , not sanctioned by the Book. People took a figurative term literally.

The only death sentences in islam is for taking someone's life, and to cause mischief and terror in the land.

As for adultery and fornication, well only if 4 witnesses saw the act then it's applicable. Keep in mind that there is no concept of morality police in the Quran so if they see it shouldn't count because spying is wrong.

Also the punishment of slander, being such a heinous crime is 80 lashes, thus people should avoid telling off an adulterers anyway.

I think sharia law is a myth perpetuated by hadeeth. Allah tells us to form a government based on consensus.

Some countries think stoning homosexual HUMAN BEINGS is allowed in islam. That is an abhorrent crime carried out by those countries, Allah orders no such thing. Same with apostasy and blasphemy, no where are these false punishments sanctioned.

Keep in mind by "lashing", no where does it say it has to be painful or public. Doing it with a blade of grass will still count.

One things I've noticed is that the punishment for rape isnt mentioned in the Quran, probably because they're too many factors to consider. Only a judge can decide. One thing though, many traditional Muslims think the law for adultery is applied to rape, and that a poor rape victims need 4 witnesses to watch her suffering in order to arrest her rapist. That is FALSE and absurd. Rape would come under the category of mischief in the land.

Sectarians and mullahs preach hate. Follow God and His Book alone. I know the adultery/fornication laws might seem harsh, but this is only if 4 people witness it, and it doesn't even have to be hard or public. Infact, no where does it say a court needs to even do it. Plus I think Allah wants us to be progressive and change and follow our fitrah.

Sorry I can't reference anything I said I'm kinda busy.

Nobody is obliged to report or to act as a witness for zina. The accuser must find himself or herslf the witnesses if he or she wants to accuse. Nobody is told if you see it accuse and act as a witness. What you cannot do is acuse if you do not count on four witnesses tht want to testify.

I think it needs more specification. For married couple, if there are no witnesses, then 246-7 should be applied.
          244 is for emancipated females.

          Salam

Perhaps if one lived in a land governed by Quranic law.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

What I meant to ppoint out was that where four witnesses are specified that it is not obligatory for anybody to report, or voice or testify. But that the onus is on the person who wants to accuse.

              Salaam

IN 17.33 I see that waliyyin has been translated as "heir". I do not feel comfortable with that translation.
