One example would be, "There is no compulsion in religion,"
Even though the word acceptance is not in the verse, people like to say this verse is only for an acceptance (since that's what the hadith say about the verse) and use this as an excuse to kill apostates.
There are so many other gross bending of Quran ayat by hadith offering "context" and "tafsir" of a book already so detailed.
It's bad enough hadith make up their own laws, but they also try to alter verses of the Quran. brickwall
