When I was in school being brainwashed with hadith, I'm not gonna lie some stories of him were so beautiful. I based my love of him on that.
That love almost vanished when I found out the the awful hadith but came back when I discovered the truth that he never actually said those awful things.Still, now I have nothing. I like how verses in the Quran never refer to him as warrior/leader/politician but simply as a messenger. But that's all. I wish some of his good stories could have been mentioned instead of those self serving verses. I know ofc the explanations for those, but still I feel as if there simply isn't enough.
If I look into actual historical evidence, well I'm terrified of that. They'll probably be full of him taking sex slaves, jizyah and conquering. Irony is even in the historic evidence that IS islamic it'll say the same.
So where do I go to read about him? I don't understand, if sex slaves and jizyah are forbidden in the QURAN then why are they non hadith accounts of him doing so? We always speak of this... "true"..."non sectarian" islam. Has it ever actually been practiced?
Maybe that's how it's suppose to happen. I mean we barely know any of the other prophets so maybe the same case should be with him. But then that doesn't explain the self serving verses though...
How much do we actually know about the 4 caliphs? How really did Islam spread?
Something else is really scaring me.
Was south Asia forced into islam? Am I only a Muslim because my ancestors were forcibly converted? That's what the historical accounts say..I'm not door concerned about history, still I feel so confused about it. What do we know and what do we believe about the history and spread of islam?

Hisotry is a weapon. They woill tell you it is a human science, nd indeed it could be a human science, but like everything else, it is a weapon, religion is a weapon, ideology is weapon. Everything under the sun is used in war. So history.
So, plenty of history we are taught is not history but war and political propaganda disguised as history. That was done always by thos without scruples. an it is mostly those without scruples who clib to the top of the power scales. They will use every weapon to manipulate people and to maintain and increase power.
So history will say whatever the powerful ant it to say, or whatever those who win wars want it to say.
Of course, there are still people who investigate and research history and know things, some things, but they are not ever listened to unless power changes hands. And then official and mainstream history will change but not necessarily to reveal the truth, may be some truths, but again most likely will fall in the hands of uncscrupulous people.
So, if you are going to rule yourself by history, think a little. Think what you live now, how it changes, how unpowerful you are to make any point to want to make and how you have to accept mainstream whatver, and yu will see, that if you can hardly do anything now, imagine with the past...
It is the sme as religion, find out yourself and do not take ANYTHING at all for granted.
We are told verywhere muslims won adepts by war concretely in my country Spain. Tht is false, absolutely. But the official histry fabricated for the prolphit of the temporal power of the Roman Church is tken for granted. It is absolute nonsense but youc annot undo it, because the interest to keep that myth are to great, and peopple will not find out themselves and who cares.
And there is something else, Christianity did away with all religions it come into contact with long, long time ago. Tht is conveniently forgotten, and instead we are insistently unrelentingly fed the muslim conquests, most of them probably not such, like in the Iberian Peninsula, which is a trick and absolute nonsense. And fo course, while there were muslims in some power in Spain and Portugal, there were three religions. As soon asRoman power asserted itself, who did away with whom?
Hisotircal islam, like most things, has been a mixture of many things, but please, spare me (nt you, baitachal, in general) the tle of muslims conquests. They are crumbs compared with the rest.
