Dear all, the word Khinzeer is a well established word in Urdu with well known meaning. However, IMHU the language based understanding of this phrase is high lighted in red in following language based translation of given verse.

    2173

Only strict prohibition for you is that which is harmful for life, the idols and mending affairs with the help of cunning intelligence. And all that which comes with it, for making other than, one who doesn?t believe something is important enough to justify an imaginary form. However, whoever is compelled to it other than own will and doesn?t return to it. Then it is no crime for him. For sure, one who doesn?t believe something is important enough to justify an imaginary form is an all-encompassing compassion.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Brother you are asking your question to a wrong person. You need a Mufti to answer not me. I am only trying to translate text of Quran based upon its language. As I understand it. I share nothing more or nothing less.

            Regards,

              Greetings and Peace, all group

If the word khinzr refers to "harmful" then how would this meaning fit in 560?

560 Say "Shall I inform you of worse than this as a punishment from God? Those whom God cursed and became angry at them, and He made from them apes and and servants of evil. Those have a worse place and are more astray from the right path."

And what of the word walama? Look at 2259 and 2314.

2259 Or the one who passed through a town which had become ruins. He said "How can God possibly revive this after it had died?" So God put him to death for one hundred calendar years, then He resurrected him. He said "How long have you stayed here?" He said "I have stayed here a day or part of a day." He said "No, you have stayed here for one hundred calendar years! Look at your food and drink, they have not changed, but look at your donkey! And We will make you a sign for the people; and look at the bones how We let them arise, then We cover them with ." So when it was clear to him what happened, he said "I now know that God is capable of all things!"

2314 Then We created the seed into an embryo, then We created the embryo into a fetus, then We created the fetus into bone, then We covered the bone with , then We brought forth a new creation. So glory be to God, the best of creators.

I can understand from an interpretation view instead of a translation view, but 2173 seems to be literal and not allegorical. Walahma refers to flesh and l-khinzri refers to swine.

I love the distinction between flesh of swine and "all things swine" because it means no hardship in avoiding lard or gelatin.

              ALLAH knows best.

              peace

              ~Abdul-Hadi

It doesn't refer to "harmful", it means "cunning intelligence".

                  Regards,

In 560 apes (or even apelike) and cunning intelligence are more antonymous than similar. Are there any other usages of the word in AQ that could reinforce/support the meaning of cunning intelligence?

                  It doesn't seem to work in 53(6), 560(11, 6145(21) or 16115(7).

l-albbi, l-nuh, uk'man are some words that relate to intelligence, understanding, wisdom.

                  ALLAH knows best.

                    salaam

first of All, there is this verse

393 All the food was made lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel forbade for himself before the Torah was sent down. Say ?Bring the Torah and recite it if you are truthful.

so, its honor made to israel and not Allah not to eat khnizeer whatever it is. And Abraham and All prophets before Moses had surely the right to eat porc.

Now, the expression lahm el kheninzir in arabic make confusion between two meanings

                    • Eat the flesh of pork
                    • eat the flesh that pork eat

Allah would have probably said dont eat khinzeer and not dont eat lahm khinzeer.

now khinzeer comme from root Kh-z-r which mean look from corner of eyes. A pejorative looking as like we look to something bad.
similar root is kh-n-z that mean rotten. however, no derivation in arabic add an r

finally in hebrew, pork is khazeer. And i arabic khazeer in a plate eaten in old arabia with grease and fat. A plate for poor

                    and now conclude by yourself.
i recall however that no one have seen a pork in the sahara until now

                    peace
