Two criteria must be met, as per Quran

      1. from adolescence onwards
      2. sound judgement / capability in managing one's affairs / mature intellect (Arabic rushd)

      Background

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

So what does "Balagha Ashuddahu,Wa balagha Arbaeena sanatan" mean ?

Is this not an indication to a particular age of responsibility?

Why would GOD mention this "40 years" for the human as "balagha Ashuddahu" specifically?
        GOD bless .
        Peace.

Maturity is many times totally unrelated to age..

I have seen kids at the age of 13 being more ''mature'' then some 50-year old's.. (just think about how people behave during their midlife crisis)

I have also seen people being mature in one area of their life (like work) but totally immature in other parts of their life (like in friendships).

But of course from the point of view of lawmakers, they need to have a certain age in where most people can be expected to be somehow ''mature'' so in Denmark they have sat the age of maturity to that of 18 years old..

                  peace gl,

I think you'll find it quite clear

So what does "Balagha Ashuddahu,Wa balagha Arbaeena sanatan" mean ?

                  Note the "wa".

Is this not an indication to a particular age of responsibility?

No mention of this in verse.

Why would GOD mention this "40 years" for the human as "balagha Ashuddahu" specifically?

Example of an archetype, Quran is full of them.

Age of responsibility is obvious, e.g. if we can get married as discussed in the link I gave above, and are held to account for all the various marriage related guidance if we transgress them, then I think good logic dictates we are being held to account, i.e. we are being made responsible for what we do.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

                    Peace Wakas.
I agree that maturity can be reached at an age where one has sufficient knowledge and has reached an age of adolescence that can render the person old enough to marry/lead an adult life.
My query is there must be "another" /something specific to 40 years of age. What is it?
                    GOD bless you.
                    Peace

                      Peace,

If Allah says we reach the age of maturity at 40 via ayat 46/15 then

it is the truth. Our journey is to understand our creator's revelations.

                      peace

I supose there are deferent kinds of maturity. We may be mature from a certain point of view and not from others. And we should also be agreed about what is or means maturity.

                        Salaam
