Ayat 65, Surat Nisa'i: We Owe This to The Prophet.
-
As-Salaam alaikum,
In Ayat 65 of Surat Nisa'i of the Holy Qur'an (465), Allahu Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says--"BUT NO! BY YOUR LORD! THEY WILL NEVER TRULY BELIEVE UNTIL THEY MAKE YOU (Muhammad) THE JUDGE
OF WHAT IS IN DISPUTE BETWEEN THEM AND FIND WITHIN THEMSELVES NO DISLIKE OF THAT WHICH YOU
DECIDE, AND THEY SUBMIT WITH FULL SUBMISSION."Thus unlike what some might assume, that they can connect to Allah, Most High, without the necessity of following His Messenger, alaihis-Salaat Was-Salaam. "THEY WILL NEVER TRULY BELIEVE", in Me and you O Muhammad, "UNTIL THEY MAKE YOU THE JUDGE", ie make you the criterion of judgement regarding their rights; "..AND FIND WITHIN THEMSELVES NO DISLIKE OF THAT WHICH YOU DECIDE", ie they find no constraints or distress in what you have judged in your judgement; "AND THEY SUBMIT WITH FULL SUBMISSION"-- ie that they confine themselves completely and perfectly to all your judgements thoroughly, and be guided in all they do by your decisions, as a covenant between you and them.
This Noble Ayat seems to be an answer to those who claim that it is sufficient for them in their religion to follow the Book of Allah only, without following the Sunnah of His Messenger. They claim that the Sunnah and the Prophetic Traditions have weaknesses and obscurities. He who claims thus could face the danger of disbelief as this Ayat shows... Beware!!

Whatever it is you follow, it doesn't matter as long as you are right/in truth. Because the truth is one.
But how can you even tell you are right, if all you do is just follow ? Or because it is written 'this is right'. How comes ?What if you have the ability to tell without a single doubt that THIS is right ? Wouldn't that be convenient for you to be SURE that THIS thing that you follow is right ? Far away from just adhering to certain ideas simply because of these same ideas telling you to adhere to them, or because you were born in a place where everyone is adhering to these ideas, etc.
Think about everything that you think makes you right, and everything that you think makes others wrong. Figure out if you are truely right and if others are truely wrong. Be humble.
When I was a sunni, a lot if ideas didn't make sense, but I just ignored them and kept on following what made enough sense for me. However, one day I thought to myself "We (sunna) say that we are right and that shiia are wrong, and shiia say they are right and we (sunna) are wrong, then I said to myself 'I'm a sunni so obviously sunna is right' 'so who is right and who is wrong ?'. This reflection and many others pushed me to make my own way to find out who is right and who is wrong and that has led me very far away from what and how I used to think.
So beware right back at you..

same type of thing happened with me but it took so long..
i dnt even know where i am now?
level by level things evolved and its kinda feeling like the shackles of mind slavery is getting free day by day..we are far away from truth every time we discover a new truth that supercede the previous truth..
in reality we dnt know any (truth)
truth become what we believe in -
You try to make an indirect case for the alleged Sunnah/Traditions from Quran. It's nice to know you cannot make a direct case, as there is no explicit command.
Have you ever asked yourself what did the prophet judge with? Answer is in Quran
...And whoever does not judge with what God has sent down, then these are the wicked.
?And We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, verifying what is before it of the Book and a guardian over it, therefore judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires (to turn away) from the truth that has come to you;?
?Surely We have revealed the Book to you with the truth that you may judge between people by means of that which Allah has shown you; and be not an advocate on behalf of the treacherous.?

level by level things evolved and its kinda feeling like the shackles of mind slavery is getting free day by day..we are far away from truth every time we discover a new truth that supercede the previous truth..
in reality we dnt know any (truth)
truth become what we believe inYou know brother when you do something wrong (sin), and you know you did it, you know it, you feel it as a sin, you are sure about it. you are guilty, that is the truth.
And so we know little by little that this is wrong and that is wrong and everything comes down to us being tested to do our best to adjust to the truth. Truth is from God; God speaks but we are also tested to listen and not get distracted by the loud voice of life and satan. -
You know brother when you do something wrong (sin), and you know you did it, you know it, you feel it as a sin, you are sure about it. you are guilty, that is the truth.
actually i want to add more insight ..
the sins allmost all of them nobody really want to do at first place (like , murder, theft, rape, disobeying parents, assault weak)and if somebody did it it become the guilt of life...
but one thing i must say in which i did not understand why most of people commmit it/or they want to do it../or they are strugggling in stopping themselves..
fornication, its strange even after knowing people commit it due to the force of emotions.. and beleiver only regret it after it has done..
and there is one unique type of sin..(SHIRK)
no feelings, no guilt, no defination, different people have different types of shirk, and thats the gross sin in all ( such a risky game)
at this point we must have to revisit our understanding..regarding blasphemy..
what is it( just not believing in God or associate something with him)
or
shirk is actually rejecting the commands of God like do not kill, do not rape, do not mistreat parents and neighbor, do not steal someone life saving.etc..

Salaam,
You cannot prove hadith and sunnah are truthful accounts of what Muhammad said or did. Would you rather follow books of men or book of Allah? The fact of the matter is that you would rather follow the religion of your ancestors. You can dress up your inclinations however you like but Quran says it is clear and detailed. This to me is the conclusive argument against people who say we need to follow other books besides Quran. To each his own. -
We can follow the message brought by the messenger, but the messenger we cannot follow. He is dead, in God's presence.
He did his job in his life. And he did it ery well, he deserves all the thankfulness and love of all sincere believers, but follow we can only the message he brought. He is not doing anything amonst us right now that we could attempt to follow. He dissapeared many centuries ago. But his message, the one he was charged with to transmit and he did transmit masteurfully, is with us. That we must follow. Follow the prophet is follow the message he brought for us. Because that is what is with us and what he was charged with.
It is beside his charge that we should try to resurrect that of his life, which in the first place we cannot verify nor consult with him whether he wants his privacy violated, in order to find out things that do not concern us nor God asked us to imitate. He was not a pop star or the like, he was a messenger, and transmitted most faithfully and effectively the message he was charged with. Anything other than that is abusing the Prophet and trespassing on his personal and private sphere.

Actually, this verse is about people who won't believe until they make the messenger a judge.
Let's start from the verse which comes before it okay?
And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allah . And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful. But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you, judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in submission.464-65
God is actually complaining how people won't believe until they associate a human with him.

Peace Abu Fauzi.
What is the role and duty of a messenger? Define this from Qoran and you have your answer. Do not hide other verses that make this clear to you.
A messenger delivers and follows GOD s message. Hence a true messenger will only judge according to the message not by any other means!GOD has clearly said to the messenger "deliver GOD s words","Follow GOD s words"and "judge by GOD s words" only.
No issue with the verse you quoted ,GOD is insisting to all of us to follow the example of a true messenger.Yes,brother, follow the messenger and accept his judgement by following the word of GOD and applying it to your life.Only the word of GOD.
Remember there is no messenger if there is no message. The message is the word of GOD. Not the private words of the messenger
GOD bless you.

As-Salaam alaikum,
This Noble Ayat seems to be an answer to those who claim that it is sufficient for them in their religion to follow the Book of Allah only, without following the Sunnah of His Messenger.
Do you know who made that claim first? It is God
Is it not (YAKFI) sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an), which is recited to them? Verily, herein is a mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a people who believe. 2951

Peace to one and all,
The Holy Qur'an is Allah's Word, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala... literally, it is a very deep Ocean from which one can take fish every day and will never finish. The meaning(s) of the Holy Qur'an are UNLIMITED and so are the ATTRIBUTES of the Lord who sent it to Mankind. Every Ayat of the Qur'an has at least 24,000 meanings. This I BELIEVE.From this perspective, I stand on every word I posted on this Topic and re-iterate that I subscribe/believe in Hadith-Nabiyy, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, as reported by Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Musnad Abu Dawud and 3 others, making up the 6 authenticated sources of Hadith.... meaning that I am not about to engage in Debates and/or Arguments, because I am on this Forum to learn and share knowledge only, not to debate and argue..especially noting that--
(a) "NONE DISPUTE ABOUT THE SIGNS OF ALLAH, EXCEPT THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE" (404)
(b) I CANNOT contradict the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasllam,...
"IF ANYONE CONTENDS WITH THE MESSENGER EVEN AFTER GUIDANCE HAS BEEN PLAINLY
CONVEYED TO HIM AND FOLLOWS A PATH OTHER THAN THAT OF THE BELIEVERS (ie the Companinons
and those who follow them), WE SHALL LEAVE HIM IN HELL. WHAT AN EVIL REFUGE"(4115)In the Hadith ( Ohh!! Hadith again?? Yes..), the Leader of Mankind and Jinn, Sayyadina Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said
"A People never went astray after being upon guidance except through disputation" and then, the Messenger recited this Ayat--
"THIS THEY SET FORTH TO YOU, ONLY BY WAY OF ARGUMENT. NAY, BUT THEY ARE A CONTENTIOUS
PEOPLE" (435We Shall follow the Noble Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, at all times.. to the end. We/You may keep to our respective understanding(s)...
For those who care, the Holy Qur'an teaches--
"...AND WHOEVER OBEYS THE MESSENGER HAS THEREBY OBEYED ALLAH", since "HE DOES NOT SPEAK OUT OF CAPRICE" (533)
"..WHATEVER THE MESSENGER GIVES YOU TAKE IT AND WHATEVER HE FORBIDS YOU, REFRAIN FORM IT" (597)
-
"..WHATEVER THE MESSENGER GIVES YOU TAKE IT AND WHATEVER HE FORBIDS YOU, REFRAIN FORM IT" (597)
exactly ...
if he married with 6 years old then you too married with 6 years old..
if she was nine then do it at 9 .. if you dnt beleive first source
if she is 11 then use this source..carry on untill 19.. yeh thats logical.. my favourite one is 19 ..
coming back to whatever he gives you take it .. if he found himself killing the people on hot dessert while they killed the camel owner , even after getting their health recover from the urine of camel as per prophet advice..
then you do same .. make sure mix camel urine with milk for better health...if you kill the way he killed him then its mean you follow the messenger exactly how he should be followed..
he cut the hands and legs from alternate sides while the criminals are on hot dessert and he dig their eyes out with sword (oh my gosh) not suitable for kids under 13.. its horrible..some more things but these two are enough for nailing the coffin...

"..WHATEVER THE MESSENGER GIVES YOU TAKE IT AND WHATEVER HE FORBIDS YOU, REFRAIN FORM IT" (597)
That's referring to his role in distributing spoils of war among the people
597 Whatever God bestowed upon His messenger from the people of the towns, then it shall be to God and His messenger, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the poor, and the wayfarer. Thus, it will not remain monopolized by the rich among you. And you may take what the messenger gives you, but do not take what he prohibits you from taking. And be aware of God, for God is mighty in retribution.
