Traditionally the women here in Morocco do not work. But i was born in Holland where the women mostly work.

I prefer a woman who also works and knows how to "survive".

How do you think about it? How can a man satisfy a woman with such a small salary left, he barely can satisfy himself with what is left?

      Depends what a woman seeks.

Also some women prefer to work, it would be something you'd need to discuss with your potential spouse.

I understand that. It's good to have independence (or at least the knowledge and capability to become independent if necessary). It's good for everyone to have certain goals and meaningful activity in one's life, and for many people, a career fulfills that for themselves and others.

If you want to have a working wife, then you'll have to let them know early on that's what you expect. Discuss how much you expect her to work (full time? part time?), how much she wants to work, what her career goals are (asking about goals can be a good assessment of drive/motivation, and an indicator of how well she plans/looks ahead as well), how much you each make now (if relevant), your personal debts and money management practices (if relevant), how you will budget/save money, how you will keep your finances (separate or joint accounts?), how you will divide up bills and housework, and what you will do if or when you have children (will one of you stop working? temporarily? permanently? if you both contribute to bills at this time, how will you prepare and adjust your spending for the expected drop in income?).

How do you think about it? How can a man satisfy a woman with such a small salary left, he barely can satisfy himself with what is left?

Look for a woman who won't care so much about what you can offer financially. (However, if you are really struggling, it may be best to wait on any major life changes - such as marriage - and get yourself more financially secure first). There are so many important qualities that a woman can and will consider about a man, besides the size of his wallet. And if she can offer something financially, then you can work on and improve your financial situation together.

Additionally, you might want to ask yourself/her how you would feel if you were not the breadwinner in your relationship (either now or sometime in the future, if you and your wife both continue to work and continue to do well in your careers). I've heard stories of women making more than men where the men/women don't take it too well.

A husband has a outlined duty for providing for one's Wife. How that is actually done is a contractual obligation between you two at marriage, and altered where necessary during marriage.

My Wife is the main earner, she works more hours than me, she earns more per hour than me, she pays the largest household bill. I work evenings and weekends where I can to make up the rest of the income, and pay for all the other utility bills. I'm left with virtually nothing after splitting food bills with my Wife, but I am content. That is because I'm not particularly bothered about money and I'll end up spending it on something useless like Video games anyway*

Our marriage works around more than just finances, and I give her other things than just financial security of her wage being topped up to have nice things. There is the emotional and physical sides to marriage that cannot be discounted.

Yes, North Africa and other Muslim regions are culturally used to having non-working Women, but this wasn't the case during and immediately after the Prophet's time where Men and Women worked pretty equally. If you are trying to find a Wife in Morocco, maybe there is potential spouses who would love your thinking and want to break into working on and forming a career path.

          • This is what I actually spend my left over cash on.

            Peace SeekingThePrayer.
            You say, Quote
Cool, i am still studying. Busy with the Tawrat, Zabur, Indjeel and Quran, busy with the languages Arabic, Aramaic and Hebrew..

Nice for you to find all this free time.
            However,you go on to say,quote
What else should they do in all that free time..

Would you not allow her free time to do the same .i.e Study Tawrat,Zabur,Injeel and Qoran with the languages?.
She will need a lot of free time.
I hope you will share all the house jobs with her for both of you to be able to do everything.
            GOD bless you.
            Peace
