What is the diffence of the verb tawaffa in 3:55 and 6:60
-
Peace cent50.
It just means that death is like sleep.
The only reason 660 is taken as sleep is because it says "He resurrects you in the morning(day". In 355 It says "and I am raising you to me" i.e not to wake up yet.So if you go to sleep at night , you wake up in the morning . If you die you wake up on the day of judgement. That is the only difference.
GOD bless you.

I'm reading that God is calling back l-ru, it reminds me of something being EXTRACTED. When l-mawtu (death) comes to any one of us, God has instructed his Messengers to commence EXTRACTION of l-ru, and they do not flinch or fail in their EXTRACTIONS! God is the CONTROLLER and the messengers are the EXTRACTORS. Yikes! Sounds like it could get painful!
660 "He is the One Who calls you back the soul by night and knows what you do by day, then revives you daily to complete your appointed term. To Him is your ultimate return, then He will inform you of what you used to do." (The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab)
661 "And He is the Governor over his servants, and he sends guardians over you. until l-mawtu (the death) comes to one of you, Our rusulun (messengers) tawaffathu - ( EXTRACT), and they do not fail. (Scrappy-doo)
1785 "They will ask you about the Ruh. Say "The Ruh is my Lord?s concern. You have only been given a little knowledge." (Aisha Bewley)
So where do we go when we sleep? Interesting! jedi

The living part in us is not"ruh" but "nafs" as per Quran.

660-61 do not mention the word "Ruh" in it. Translation quoted by you is not as per original Arabic text.

1785 "They will ask you about the Ruh. Say "The Ruh is my Lord?s concern. You have only been given a little knowledge." (Aisha Bewley)
The verses from 1782 to 1786 are talking about revelation so AL-Ruh here is referring to revelation and not to spirit or soul as understood in English language.

We do not go anywhere but our consciousness is taken away. Physical body is still there with all the organs functioning and live.
Peace
