Is there contradiction between two verses of Quran? 31:14 and 46:15
-
Hi All,
Could anyone please help me to understand the time period between two verses.
In 3114 God tells us "his mother bore him by bearing strain upon strain, and his utter dependence on her lasted two years"
But in 4615 the time period is different "In pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth; and her bearing him and his utter dependence on her took thirty months"
Is it two years or thirty months (2 years and 6 months).
It isn't contradiction????
Thanks

I think you ment within the 2 years and 6 month.
Note it says and his utter dependence on her lasted two years"

Peace NielsJacob, see below...
3114 ... and separation his in/within/< less than Aamyn/year two
4615 ... and carry his and separation his thirtieth lunar cycle ofp = pregancy time (variable)
s = separation/wean (variable) < (12 lunar months x 2) / day = 709 days
30 x (lunar months / day) = 886 daysp = 178+ days/25.43+ weeks (886 days - 708 days)
s = (709 - 17 * days = 1.45+ years < 2 years -
Hi all,
I think i got the answer. If you guys read carefully and read complete verses, you will find out that 3114 is only talking about utter dependency of the child on the mother but 4615 is talking about pregnancy and dependency of the child together. That is why it is 30 months which is 2 years and 6 months. 6 months for the minimum pregnancy and 2 years for the dependency of the child on the mother.
It is further clarified by 2233 which tells us that " And the mothers may nurse their children for two whole years". Therefore there is no contradiction. I am pretty surprised that modern science is now telling us that the minimum pregnancy to which a baby can survive is 24 weeks and all the research which they have conducted so far indicates that 24, 25 or 26 weeks babies can survive but any delivery less than that can't survive even after the medical advancement.
Thanks everyone for your contribution. You don't have to agree with me, it is my understanding. If you any objection and you think that my interpretation is wrong please feel free to challenge me and i am happy to change it if it logical.
God bless you all.

3114 We enjoined man regarding his parents. His mother bore him with hardship upon hardship, and his weaning takes/is within two years. You shall give thanks to Me, and to your parents. To Me is the final destiny.
4615 And We enjoined man to do good to his parents. His mother bore him with hardship, gave birth to him in hardship, and his bearing and weaning lasts thirty months. So that, when he has reached his independence, and he has reached forty years, he says "My Lord, direct me to appreciate the blessings You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do good work that pleases You. And let my progeny be righteous. I have repented to You; I am of those who have submitted."
Weaning = 24 months
Pregnancy + weaning = 30 months
Pregnancy (while conscious) = 6 monthsThus, that which is in the womb is not a conscious being/nafs within the first 3 months.

Peace, the above is bad math; look up solving simple inequalities.
p = pregnancy time (variable)
w = weaning time (variable)w < 709 days {3114 24 x (lunar months / day) = 708.73416 days}
886 - p < 709 {4615 30 x (lunar months / day) = 885.9177 days}
p = 177+ days
not about conscious/unconscious in wombs rather babies born early require more weaning etc...

If you would stop relying on horrible translations you wouldn't have such an issue.
And a believer never entertains doubt about Quran containing contradiction.
The contradiction if any would only be between one's ears.It is 2017 and if you are still using whack translations the blame is all on you.
There are plenty of tools available to properly study Quran.
Why would you be satisfied with a traditional translation?
Use word for word translations. Use corpus.quran.com., project root list, islamawakened.com etc..
But don't doubt Quran because you haven't learned how to use the tools necessary to study and truly understand it.
The title and tone of OP truly annoyed me...
