I never got the reason behind killing animal for God..???? Why would God need humans to sacrifice poor animals ? Does IT enjoy such blood bath ? There was a time when humans were sacrificed...but now we just replaced it with animal.....how logical is it ??? OR am I missing some point ?

    peace

Peace be upon you Born Again,

I don't have the correct answer for you yet, I still need to study this further. I only have ideas right now, but I wil not share them just yet. I hope that you will be here for a while so that we can discuss it after we remove the veil that is on this topic right now.

        Peace be upon you

I've found this article by Aidid Safar. Here's what it says

The instruction in Chapter 5 Verse 2 says-

? Do not violate God?s decrees (sha-a?iril-lah) ie do not violate God?s orders.

? Do not violate the restricted months (shah-rul-harama) i.e. do not violate the restricted months on hunting

? Do not violate these guidelines (hadya) on hunting wildlife

? Do not violate the indicators (qola-ida) of the hunting restrictions.

? Do not violate the harmony of the sanctions in the system (aminal-baital-harami) when seeking the grace and pleasure of God.

? Do not be provoked by those who prevented you from observing the sanctions of the submission (anil-mas-jidil-harami)

Many words in this verse were distorted on purpose to characterize it as a ?ritual observation? of the so-called Haj pilgrimage in Mecca.

The innovators of the Arabic religion gave a new meaning to the word hadya which is from the word huda or guidance. They changed this word to mean an offering, or the sacrificial offering of an animal. God says in the Quran assigning food offerings to Him from crop products and livestock is EVIL -

They even assigned to God a share of the crops and the livestock He has provided for them by saying, ?This is for God?. According to their claim they also say, ?This is for our idols?. However, what was assigned to their idols will NEVER reach God, while that assigned to God invariably ended up to their idols. EVIL indeed is their judgment. (Chapter 6 Verse 136)

The word hadya in Chapter 5 Verse 2 refers to the guidelines. The root word is Hada, which means Guide, and Hudan is the guidance. The Arabs do not expect their mutilation of simple Arabic words in the Quran will eventually be uncovered. The word hadya appears in the Quran many times. The word Hadiiya in Chapter 7 Verse 186 and Chapter 25 Verse 31 shows the meaning is Guide.

        Man-yud-lilil-lah fala hadi-ya lahu wayazaru-hum fi-dhog-yanihim ya?mahun (Chapter 7 Verse 186)

Whoever goes astray, God will not GUIDE them (Hadi-ya lahu). And He will allow them to be in their wandering aimlessly.

        Wakazalika ja?alna likul-linabiayan ?aduwon minal-mujrimin wakafabirob-bika hadiiyan mahjur?. (Chapter 25 Verse 31)

We thus appoint for every prophet enemies from among the criminals. Your Lord suffices as the GUIDE and helper?.

But lo and behold, when the same word hadya appears in Chapter 5 Verse 2 and other verses, the Arabs twist the word to mean sacrificial offering of animals as a religious rite in their Arabic Religion.

Is this word (hadya) used in the ayats I gave before too? They are translated as "offerings" like in 0502.

Peace i think the animal sacrifice is authorized from following versus of Quran
2236And the plump animals for offering, We have made them for you as decrees from God, in them is goodness for you. So mention God?s name upon them while being orderly, so once their body becomes still, then eat from them and give food to the poor and the needy. It was thus that We have made them in service to you, that you may be thankful.
2237Neither their meat nor their blood reaches God, but what reaches Him is the righteousness from you. It was thus that He made them in service to you, so that you may glorify God for what He has guided you to, and give news to the good doers.
2238God?defends those who believe. God does not like any betrayer, rejecter.
may God increase our knowledge peace

Well from reading those verses it seems clear, to me, animal sacrifice isnt authorized. Those verses say to me that we should be thankful for food in general, you know how people sometimes say 'grace' before a meal?

It doesnt mean you kill and eat an animal for God, it says you must always be appreciative of food and give thanks to God.

            Also bear in mind translations...

YUSUFALI The sacrificial camels we have made for you as among the symbols from Allah in them is (much) good for you then pronounce the name of Allah over them as they line up (for sacrifice) when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such as (beg not but) live in contentment, and such as beg with due humility thus have We made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful.
PICKTHAL And the camels! We have appointed them among the ceremonies of Allah. Therein ye have much good. So mention the name of Allah over them when they are drawn up in lines. Then when their flanks fall (dead), eat thereof and feed the beggar and the suppliant. Thus have We made them subject unto you, that haply ye may give thanks.
SHAKIR And (as for) the camels, We have made them of the signs of the religion of Allah for you; for you therein is much good; therefore mention the name of Allah on them as they stand in a row, then when they fall down eat of them and feed the poor man who is contented and the beggar; thus have We made them subservient to you, that you may be grateful.
KHALIFA The animal offerings are among the rites decreed by GOD for your own good. You shall mention GOD's name on them while they are standing in line. Once they are offered for sacrifice, you shall eat therefrom and feed the poor and the needy. This is why we subdued them for you, that you may show your appreciation.

YUSUFALI It is not their meat nor their blood, that reaches Allah it is your piety that reaches Him He has thus made them subject to you, that ye may glorify Allah for His Guidance to you and proclaim the good news to all who do right.
PICKTHAL Their flesh and their food reach not Allah, but the devotion from you reacheth Him. Thus have We made them subject unto you that ye may magnify Allah that He hath guided you. And give good tidings (O Muhammad) to the good.
SHAKIR There does not reach Allah their flesh nor their blood, but to Him is acceptable the guarding (against evil) on your part; thus has He made them subservient to you, that you may magnify Allah because He has guided you aright; and give good news to those who do good (to others).
KHALIFA Neither their meat, nor their blood reaches GOD. What reaches Him is your righteousness. He has subdued them for you, that you may show your appreciation by glorifying GOD for guiding you. Give good news to the charitable.

              022.038
YUSUFALI Verily Allah will defend (from ill) those who believe verily, Allah loveth not any that is a traitor to faith, or show ingratitude.
PICKTHAL Lo! Allah defendeth those who are true. Lo! Allah loveth not each treacherous ingrate.
SHAKIR Surely Allah will defend those who believe; surely Allah does not love any one who is unfaithful, ungrateful.
KHALIFA GOD defends those who believe. GOD does not love any betrayer, unappreciative.

              thank u for reading peace

                Salaams beatnik,
i think the pagans used to offer sacrifices ,and the quran has been mistranslated to embody their ritual.

I don't think Allah wants sacrifices, but others might have more to say.

                From lanes and QD.
                Sawaffa=wool
                Wajanubahaa=set aside/discard
Wajabat = setting of sun. So regarding the animals its when they reach old age ?to me

                2236

And the Goats/sheep we have made them for you among the symbols (of)Allah you have in them much good so be mindful (of) the attribute (of) Allah upon them - wool (Allah is the provider I think)and when they have served there usefulness put them aside/discard (and) eat thereof and feed the poor men and the begger who asks thus we have made them to you so that you may be grateful.

                Bye.

                  Peace,

naxus, you show me the quote a second time, but have you read it truly yourself? An animal is made of meat and blood. The verse says neither reaches God. What does? Righteousness. What is righteousness? Being humble, appreciative, thoughtful, thankful. Righteousness is contained in our actions, not necessarily in our dietary habits. Alot of traditional customs in a blasphemous way seem to subtly signify that God needs us, i.e- we must pray 5 times a day in specific times, we must sacrafice an animal for God, etc, etc. When God does not need us, we need God.

So I stand by my previous post, thanks.

                  mz357, thats a good interpretation.

                  Peace.

It is the setting of the sun ONLY when the sun is mentioned in the sentence. This is according to QAMOOS MUHEET which is one of the sources for Lane and QD

                      Salaams latif,
you are right it is the setting of the sun when and if the sun is mentioned-i was merely giving an example of lane.

The traditional interpretation is the animals falling -similer to the sun going down physically. But to me , it is the end of the day thingy-the sun setting, which i interpret as old age with respect to the life lived.

                      Salaams.
