Their usage is forbidden, as stated by the Prophet ?Do not drink from gold and silver containers and do not eat from plates made from them. Verily they are for them (the unbelievers) on earth and for you (the believers) in the hereafter.?

And he said ?He who drinks from a silver container, indeed (he) causes hell-fire to boil in his belly.?

And why those who drinks from silver container shall be boiled in his belly?

If an enlightened person ever said that, he probably said it metaphorically.

Gold and silver containers => Luxury and pride thereof / Extravagance

He who eats/drinks as such, whatever he ate, he will not truly benefit from it. And by benefit I mean the benefit of the soul. Such way of eating and drinking, on a higher level, will only make the miserable even more miserable because they only filled their belly with more food, and filled their heart with more pride.

          Contradicts Quran.

          http//misconceptions-about-islam.com/gold-silver-banned-muslims.htm

Misconception Gold and silver are banned for Muslims

Background It is commonly thought that Muslims are forbidden from owning gold, or wearing gold and silver or silk, especially Muslim men.

The following verse from The Quran makes it clear that enjoyment of gold and silver are allowed

Alluring unto man is the enjoyment of worldly desires through women, and children, and heaps of gold and silver, and horses of high mark, and cattle, and lands. That is provision of life in this world - and/but the most beauteous of all goals is with God.

Wearing of adornments/jewels is mentioned in the following verses , however there are no specific examples of wearing gold/silver in this life, only in the descriptions of heaven .

The ban on men wearing silk is not found in The Quran. According to The Quran it is important not to forbid things unless specifically forbidden by God

Say ?Who has forbidden the nice things that God has brought forth for His servants and the good provisions?? Say ?They are meant for those who believe during this worldly life, and they will be exclusive for them on the Day of Resurrection.? It is such that We explain the revelations for those who know.

You shall not invent lies about God by attributing lies with your tongues, saying "This is lawful and that is forbidden." Those who invent lies about God will not succeed.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Did he tell you that personally?

[quote author=owlwithbow link=topic=9609939.msg41242thing like those wquoted

Many things in life are said for particular occasions. Particularly in times of poverty and suffering, luxury is ostentatious an insulting for those who are experiencing much hardship. If somebody said that at a time such as those, it is understandable. There must be at least a semblant of concern for those most deprived.

At tiems when everybody eats to satisfaction and has a decent living, never mind who wants to enjoy luxury, or may be ertaint hings, if they mean so much for the person that he prefers to go hungry but have some gold. That his or her business.

              Salaam

                Greetings and peace, all group

Where in AQ is this found? You know, the complete, fully detailed, enough-for-a-believer Qur'an? Why should ANYONE take the sayer of a purported saying or those that propagate these sayings as a partner? Never mind. Enjoy this life!

                ALLAH knows best.

                peace
