Post what you believe is a contradiction in the Quran and let's see the answers

If you go by sectarian scholarship, you will find contradictions in it. But upon closer study, it becomes clear that they twisted the interpretations for their own benefit.
They use this verse for polygamy
And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline .43At face value, it contradicts
And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.243243 interpretation is out of context. It can be understood when we go to 41
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah , through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
In other words, 43 is addressed to entire community. It would be gullible of God to hand over the custody of orphans just to one man. There is more. If the man can't be just to orphans then he won't be just to them in the marriage either.
When I was a Sunni, I thought 43 didn't make sense. I asked people how one could be just in love to multiple women. The answer came out same and that's God isn't talking about love, but food and shelter. I must also say I had lots of debates with them on the importance of love in the marriage. They always go back to saying marriage isn't about love.
I am still in the process of clearing doubts on other official translations.
I am stuck onIndeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment, Except for those who return before you apprehend them. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.533-34

I will surely cut off your hands and your feet of opposite sides. Then I will surely crucify you all."2650
Pharaoh said, "You believed him before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic. So I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and you will surely know which of us is more severe in punishment and more enduring."2071
It doesn't make sense that God tells humans to punish others in Pharaoh's way.

There is pretty comprehensive list here.
http//www.answering-islam.org/Quran/Contra/And I am sure you'll find rebuttals on the internet too.
The number one over there has to do with sectarian teachings. There is one verse in which Solomon comes up with a bad idea of invading another country. But he amends through God.The lesson is that we are not supposed to take opinions of prophets as divine knowledge. Obey the messenger over there equals to obeying the message and not personal Muhammad. By changing the word obey into copy and do anything Muhammad says they made such conclusion impossible for themselves.
We did raise questions about majority of the verses they are showing there. We are slowly learning the real meanings.
A very boring exercise if you ask me. I think it's much better to discuss what ideas the Quran promotes and if bad ideas are just misunderstanding then why has it been unable to communicate them effectively.
The problem here is that the sects want Quran to say what they want instead of letting the Quran speak. We came out of those sects. So sometimes we become victim of their false interpretations.
All holybooks suffer from misinterpretations though. But the more I get into policies the more I see that Quran is not approached correctly. Its verses share similarities with how governments make laws. They have to use what is known as Legal language. Certain words in them are intentionally kept vague and general to leave broader scope for the agencies who make the rules and regulations based on them. They tried to make a dictionary for it, but it doesn't always help and more new words keep getting released. Sentences are designed in that same way.
Sample of legal language http//www.plainenglish.co.uk/files/legalguide.pdf
https//www.law.du.edu/index.php/law-school-learning-aids/legal-language/?I must also say that it is very important to take reality into account when interpreting. Plus, many from different fields should collaborate on the interpretations.

Agree with reel in about everything. Just one remark about marriage. It is not so much what it is about, love or what, but about what it is. It is, as per 4.21, sex and a mithaq ghalith, a solemn pact and a very demanding pact. To go into a very demanding pact which exacts so much exclusivity without any need for it, is asking for trouble.
The Qur'an indeed orders us to marry the single, although poligamy either feminine or masculine is not prohibited, but it is also not handled in the Qur'an as a common occurrence. Normal, ordinary marriage is monogamous. For poligsamous marriages there should be strong justifications, like a noticeable unabalance int he ratio of sexes., shortage of women or shortage of men.
On the other hand I am not sure that a person cannot love more than one at a time. Many persons can't others can, but the question is not that but whether they can afford acgting it out in simultaneous marriages, not merely on economic terms, but on emotional, psichological, social terms, etc. and whether that is going to be good for society at large. That one is capable of loving more thna one at a time does not mean that one is capable of carrying on simultaneous marriages. One thing does not have go together with the other. One thing is love, something else is to contract a solemn pact and abide by it.

Peace,
When I submitted, I submitted for guidance, how to live a righteous life, therefore I
look to the Quran for the guidance that Allah promised to the believers. So the
"interpretations" have no impact on my deen. Since I will not be chopping anyone's
hands and feet off on alternate sides or crucifying anyone or marrying orphans or
slaves those type of ayats are irrevalent for me. however I do understand those who
for scholarly reasons endeavor for the correct interpretations.peace

The Qur'an indeed orders us to marry the single, although poligamy either feminine or masculine is not prohibited, but it is also not handled in the Qur'an as a common occurrence. Normal, ordinary marriage is monogamous.
I can?t see how polygamy can be supported when the instruction clearly mentions to marry singles. Do you find any verse in which he says polygamy is okay? Only in Prophet?s situation we find that, but God is clear that it was only for him and not for others.
For poligsamous marriages there should be strong justifications, like a noticeable unabalance int he ratio of sexes., shortage of women or shortage of men.
That?s the claim mullahs gave me. They said there are more women than men and that?s why it is justified. But the study shows there are more men in the world than women. But even when the ratio is taken into consideration the society suffers. Polygamy tends to increase the population of immoral sex craving unmarried males. On the other side, a polygamous woman is vulnerable to abuse. The recent incident was seen in a place of India. They used to kill female babies. That?s how they decreased female population. All the brothers of a single family are now forced to have just one wife whose life ends up being a living hell under their demands.
It seems that even if someone is having trouble finding a mate God will help him or her
But let them who find not marriage abstain until Allah enriches them from His bounty. And those who seek a contract from among whom your right hands possess - then make a contract with them if you know there is within them goodness and give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek the temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allah is after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful. On the other hand I am not sure that a person cannot love more than one at a time. I have been quite used to seeing polygamous marriages. They are not at all different from today?s toxic relationships and promiscuity. The family never goes a day without issues. The problem is jealousy and constant fear of conspiracy. I feel God is quite clear that two people cannot be loved at the same time no matter how much one tries it. It is not just the feelings. Love has many ingredients. Study result from 69 cultures seems to clarify that there is nothing called happy polygamy http//www.jstor.org/stable/3773961?seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents

My answers in red.
But doesn't God say the people come in a relationship and its tranquility is sign from him? I can?t see how polygamy can be supported when the instruction clearly mentions to marry singles. Do you find any verse in which he says polygamy is okay? Only in Prophet?s situation we find that, but God is clear that it was only for him and not for others.
There are injonctions in 4.23 where simultaneous marriage to two sisters is forbidden, except for what is past. Obvioysly it refer sto marriages already ongoing, they did not have to disolve. With the prophet is the same, things were not more slack for him than for others, in fact they were stricter. In sura 33 he is forbidden from marry any new women or for divorcing or for exchanging one for another. Nobody else was forbiden divorce. So, if thre are special disposition for the prophet after that point it was to make them "harder".
And yes, again we are ordered to marry the singles, but what if there are no singles? And I am not talking about what mullahs say,. Your objection with mullahs is that you are saying that there can never be any unbalance in populations save for what the mullas say, as if mullahs were God, but that is nto so, nor do we have ny guarantee that it can naver happen. It may happen. So let us leave the mullahs out of the equation, they are no authority in population or demography, not even in Qur'an. Nor do they interest me in the least.
The fact is that there have been occasions and we do not know that there may not to be again, where proportion between the sexes has been very unbalanced. If the population is going to recover minimally and if you do not want sexual and social morals to run riot and have a lawless society you have to provide for some legal and social structure. I have a very clear example in mind. The war of the Triple alliance against Paraguay from 1864 to 1870. There were almost no males left between the ages of 13 an 70 and very few women. But still the few women left outnumbered the males by more than ten to one. The government of the time proclaimed free love as the legal family which was maintained till the population recovered. Of course there was poligamy, what else? And nobody complained aobut it but took it as the only fair and intelligent way to have a nation again. They shouldered their burden and carried on. Since They died for their nation, they did want a nation. Poligamy was the least of their worries and rather than a worry, was the only thing possible. So, no, it does not happen all the time, thank God, but that shows why it is not prohibited in the Qur'an.
You ask that there shoudl be some line saying it is nto allowed. No, that is not the way it works. It is the same when somebody asks where is a line in Qur'an that says that women can lead prayers or be judges or whatever. No. What is not prohibited, obviously is not prohibited and therefore is allowed. Each society makes its rules to suit the context and the circumstances, but we should not attribute to God something God has nto said. Marry the single yes, He says, poligamy is prohibited forever no, He has not said and I insist lest it be forgotten, neither feminine nor masculine. When there are no singles we can marry, then we may see to it, may be we would rather remain single ourselves. But if the ones who do not find singles to marry are too many, it may be that at some point they start spilling over and the general good should be looked after in the real circumstances, not in ideal sircumstances.
And this question is nothing to do either with the line about men being able to have children lal the time and women only once every nine months and so on and so forth. I do hope we are above that level of discourse.
YOu are wasting your illustration of poligamous marriages on me. I am not defending poligamous marriages even if to you it seems that if I do not say that they from God are forbidden forever, for all time and all eternity in the whole universe and all the galaxies and even in black holes, it means that I favour them. No, I am not favouring them (as if it mattered) nor do I need any tv sitcom to feel how awful those marriages are bound to be. In fact reading what you wrote I of the hell they are I sort of feel that ALL marriages should be forbidden because also monogamous marriages happen to turn that way many times. Obviously it comes from the reasons you do it. If it is to satisfy the egolatry or comfort of some person lacking self respect and assurance, whether poligamous or monogamous it is going to turn wrong. The poligamous merely touches more people and nearer.
Marriage of any kind is mediated very much by the circumstances of the society. Mature and righteous, fair minded people, generally will have happier relationships of every kind, than conflicted, fragmented societies.

peace reel,
it doesnt matter what god or satan tells us human to punish in whatever waymost disturbing thing is human always done it , doing it and will do it
i remember a story of "abdul haleem sharar" FIRDOOS e BAREE (eternal paradise) in which he draw a pic of the early islam and basically the corrupter of early muslims who created paradise similar to the picture what given in quran and hadeeth and they use other people to make them believe the paradise is original and if u need to enjoy a week holidays in patadise then do a murder of religious scholars ( imam neshapuri) is one key figure in that era who is being killed by his own nephew becoz his beloved was playing the role of "HOOR" in the so called paradise its a long story in short the root also hi ts towards the "bidda" of early muslims
in the end cause and effect being applied by nature in those times the cousin(female) of halaku khan find out these people killed his father so she take revenge with the help of halaku khan and they invade them and sheed a blood of them like shit
and in few seconds that paradise turn into historywhat i m trying to say the practice of cutting people from alternate sides wax the common way of killing for these people but modern tecnology gives u work without doing much struggle to cutting someone from alternate sides but with atom bomb " BOOM"
we suddenly think its illogical if God talk about polygamy
but what humans do? they do polygamy in past in present and also in future an average man/women sleep with 15 different partners before a wedding day and some of them continue even after marriage
ok coming back to the interpretation issue thats the most intelligent approch to twist the meanings or make the meanings clear in some cases look how i see it and when u give a likeminded interpretation ur inner design of faith will make you go for it now see
Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger = (Godly people/peacemakers) and strive upon earth corruption =( people like cyborg movie villans)is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides = ( cut/control/mark their resources/weapons as well as their manpower) or that they be exiled from the land. Peace,
I would like to ask others to post what they believe is a contradiction and see if it can be answered.
And please everyone Use this thread tor aledged contradictions in the Quran and nothing else.
Thanks
yes brother u will find lot of contraditions but only if u look it by human lens/interpretations/ideas for example
in some verses the will of God is absolute
and in some verses human being can also have a will becoz God showed us two ways to walkbut its somehow true for both of them as we see we choose what to wear, eat, study
on other hand we did not choose our face/race/religion/life/death
people try to understand this by different theories but not yet decided where to go
both sides of arguments have verses to support their claims
but funny part is this we are far from reality
let say i choose to wear a jean (cheap quality) is it the will of God that i wear cheap quality when there are plantey of high quality armani jeans there?
vice versathe will in which we believe human is unable to do certain things like death and life matters
ok how you will fit the suicide cases ?
who really wills/plans ?if God then why he considered as hell dweller
if its suicider then we are indirectly saying God is not in control?
i wish brother ayman here who write some intresting things about will of God vs will of human
-
Peace Imrankhawaja,
you are as I predicted struggling with what a contradiction is, you wish to claim a nonsense to justify your idea of why the contradiction exists, which i find un-reasoned, and still the contradiction remains.
"There is no god." this is a completed sentence, making it absolute, that no God exists, then a corruption in translation is used to write the next sentence forming a contradiction. No amount of unfounded explanations can remove this contradiction, only a correct translation can remove the contradiction, and god bother'ers can never accept reason over their unfounded fantasies.
-
peace abdun Nur
i dnt wish to claim anything i m telling you thats how language experts see what the author is saying.
forget about what they think you share your correct translation so that i see what was the contradiction.
-
peace reel,
its out of topic so i m addressing it here becoz i have something to say about the last line of your postIt doesn't make sense that God tells humans to punish others in Pharaoh's way.
considering this point you know author of quran said God is swift in punishment we need to understand how God manage to punish the wicked sometimes by direct "azab" like nations of lot, noah, shoaib etc sometimes indirectly by storms, earthquakes, floods and sometimes God send a person to punish another person like the travellor with moses and sometimes by wars or inavasionsand the torture of hell prison is supreme kind of torture in which skins get refreshed once burn fully
so what make you think its dosent make sense ? even if go for literal translationthe language and proverbs and poetry at that time draw a picture of horrors in a best possible manners tou can apply it today like when a judge give orders of punish someone on electric chair as a death penalty isnt it ?
there is something wrong with the way how we percieve the meanings and situations from individual to individual
-
"There is no god." this is a completed sentence, making it absolute, that no God exists, then a corruption in translation is used to write the next sentence forming a contradiction.
peace, can please point out corruption and contradiction?

Again a contradiction is assertion of the contrary or opposite. You have the absolute statement "There is no god." which is then contradicted by the false statement "Only/but the god."
Allah, used 2851 times, when the evidence is examined carefully, actually means ?one who doesn?t engage in worship?
