Problems with the site?... Post em here

Hi all,

Lately(many a time) this site seems to be very very slow. I guess others are experiencing this as well, coz i have noticed many double posts(which i am guessing is coz users might be clicking on 'submit' more than once as nothing appears to happen for a long time). it takes so much time for every page to load up.

I used to have problems accessing this site but that's improved lately. However, since the introduction of this new format, I've stopped receiving notifications and alerts despite the necessary adjustments in the settings.

It is related to your personal settings. I have had a quick look and ticked the 'notify' option on your settings.

If this does not work, then check that your e-mail listed in the profile is the correct one.

and when do we get our good old emoticons back??? Coz these ones are really odd! They look like from the stone-age of the Internet.

There is a Problem in the Search feature of this Board which was not there previously

when We Search for 1649 to see all the references in forum to that verse it displays all the references to chapter 16 and 49 and all refereneces to Verse 16 of all chapters and verses 49 of all chapters

So In effect it is not possible to search for the occurance of a Particular verse in the forum
ANy other Short cuts?
Or is it a Bug?

Please solve it if possible..

Have you tried this type search on this forum (simple machines forum) before and it worked?

I think it worked on the previous forum. before the last crash. may not b simple machine forum. but If someone with knowledge of writing scripts can make such a search feasible..

I'm not sure what procedure to use to insert quotes in my replies. I looked in the Help section but that wasn't clear enough for me. It seems I can go to the message I want to use as a quote but I can't figure out exactly how that works. Could you please direct me to understand?

If you're replying someone's message and you want to quote the whole message, instead of clicking 'reply'... click 'quote instead.

If you want to quote someone during a message, that's not too many pages back, you scroll down and click on 'Insert Quote' at the top right hand corner of every post, just under the date and time detail on that post.

Another way is to highlight the part you want to quote, copy then paste it onto where you're typing your message, highlight it again and click the quote button, which it the balloon sign, second last tab just above the smilies.

Yet another way, is to copy and paste the message and insert this before the message Could you please direct me to understand? (no spaces in between the word).

Give it a try, and advice if you're still experiencing the problem.

I have another question; how do we access the articles directly from the forum now? Seems to me we could do this quite simply before.

I can't access the chat room. When I sign in, I get a blank page saying "error" or something.

i get some kind of error and it won't show me the chat room area. just the side column that says who's currently in the room

yeah. It says "404 Not Found." What the hell is 404? and can someone please find it?
