Um i don't know if you heard this there is a sect called Scientism https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientism

    And also Scientology
    https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology

    Christian Science
    https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Science

    Divine Science
    https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_Divine_Science

The reverse also exist.. a 'movement' which then evolved to become a 'religion' where the founder advocate the use of "scientific methodology" without mentioning the label of "science".

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after your own careful observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.?
    -- Siddharta (circa 500 BC)
