Is it ok to believe in things like omens?

I was just wondering, what would your understanding of the Qur?an on things like omens be?

I think of a name of a particular woman and a few minutes after, I go over to the wall to read these poems, and at the bottom is the name of that person. The name was exactly as the one I thought of.

Carl young called it synchronicity, and he believed that that proves existence of a Devine power/s at play.
