Salam to All,
It may be a stupid question but hope people will not hit on me.If in the middle of your fasting suddenly you had a severe toothache and you took a pain killer, can you continue with your fasting or your fast is broken.
Thank you all in advance

I do not think it is possible to say with certainty. I consider eating/drinking to be consuming something which nourishes you or satisfies a craving for food/drink. If it did none of these then it's likely one's abstinence remains intact, but as I said it is not possible to state with certainty. Also depends on intention, so if you had a legitimate reason, then again it's likely one's abstinence remains intact.
As a side note, clove oil is very good for toothache (applied topically directly on affected tooth with cotton bud). Most cavities are caused by bacteria which can be eliminated by gargling with colloidal silver (2mins, then spit out, 3 times daily).

It is simple. If you have a bad tooth ache you are ill. Therefore you are excused from fasting as per Qoran.
Just make it up after or use alternatives to fast.
Remember "Ill" is general, you have to go with your conscience and intentions, how ill are you? Only you can decide.
For me a really bad toothache makes a person ill.
GOD bless.
Peace.
