'Logical Evidence' for the existence of God
-
Peace.
I have a close friend who is come from a shia background, but becuase of my 'religious' talk he has opened up and told me straight how he does not belive that there is even a God. So I havewritten and article for him, and after he's read it, he'll probably start to use his logic. I've congratualted him for not just following hisparent blindly, and I am encouraging him to carry on.
Basically his arguement was that all we are given is out goenes and our environmental influences, so what we do is not our fault, so how would this 'God' thing punish us for something like this. So what i have done is shown his a case studies of a pair of identical twins, who, although have exactly the same genes and have lived in the same family, house, school, everything. Yet their personalities are more contrasting than even normal siblings. One is really easy to talk to, the other is arrogant. One likes to go out, on likes to stay at home. One is usually found happy, the other prefers not to talk to anybody. I think these occurences give enough evidence that there is something beyond genes and the environement. What muslims would called the rooh/nafs, what christians would call the soul, and what hinduism would call the abha/atman. This exists, and there is clearly evidence for this. So we can safely conclude that when he judges us, he will be perfectly just with us.
Now the issue of the existence of God. From the way I see it personally, logic and rationality inevitably fade out at the two extremities of time. Thelogic we use in this world is acceptable this world only, for example, we can say that in this life 1+1=2, but in another dimension, this could be 3. Although it sounds obsurd to say that 1+1=3, it may actually be true in another dimensions logic. Logical thinking, when used in conjunction with Gods message which have been revealed to mankind since thestart of our existence on Earth. Using the logic of this world, we may see how our message has not changed even a single word, as proven by non-muslim scientists. This could be coincidence, but a miracle is when this coincidenceis coupled with intent, which God intended when hesaid that he will preserve the 'final testament'. So using this worlds logic it makes sense to consider our message as being 'divine/holy' (although I'd prefer not to use words like this, but if it makes the concept easier to understand). So using this logic wecan safely assume the this is from God, and not written by any human. So does this prove well enough that there is a God.
Aside from this, without looking to any from of 'religion'. Recognising the inapplyability of this worlds logic to theextremities of timeshows that there is a God as the only explanation.
The general consensus among scientists is that the unuiverse began with a big band, and that it is still expanding, as stated in
47- With power did We construct the heaven, verily, We are expanding it.
51-The Dispersing, 47Simple logic tells us that the concept of the red shift when looking at objects in spcae shows that the universe is actually expanding and was indeed created by some kind of explosion.
Now is that the limit to what weshould consider our creation? Or do wee need to apply moreligoc and try and work out what brought this big bang about. This is where I think my arguement for the existence of God may become personal to me, and many people may not take this point so easily. I say that there is a God, becuase nothing else can explain the big bang, and the fact that with this worlds logic we can work out that themessage has indeed been sent by God, to explain what our worldly logic cannot tell us.
It would be good if anyone out there could share their views with me, and any suggestions would be extremely useful. I have decided not to let this opportunity go, becuase I think the guy upstairs will love it if I manage to get somebody to realise that he exists!
Peace.
Natu on the line. -
Peace Natu,
The problem that this friend could be having is that the Quran is a book that teaches people once they accept it. Therefore once we accept the Quran as being from GOD we accept it as being true in contents. As for your friend he doesn't accept that explanation. He requires a scientific proof or something very simple that requires him not to believe but rather base his actions solely on reason.
Personally I prefer this method, about leading life and living for a reason rather than doing things by blindly following something without sufficient reason. I think he needs to witness something that is incredible or have a personal experience while seeking truth. I think that the miracles present within the Quran are amazing, the detailed embryology and accurate astronomy etc Also the controversial claims for 19 patterns should also be studied. These are signs and he needs signs. Or maybe he wishes not to be Guided. Or I think that anyone who seeks in a truthful and honest and non-ignorant way should find these signs towards the Divine.
BTW superstring theory doesn't really support the BIG BANG at the moment but it agrees on the expanding part. Also the fibres or 'strings' of energy are supported by the QUran in a certain verse.
These existence arguements can go on forever!
