There needs to be a site that translates the works of prominent reformist scholars from around the world in the english language so that it reaches the masses, changing ideas and pushes progress not just books but videos that discusses they're research otherwise no progress will be made. many movements that focus on the scripture are not doing enough to reach people while the traditionalists are found everywhere.
i personally have been trying to contact progressive islamic organisations from around the world to invite and spread the works of progressive scholars that i know of. WE NEED TO DO BETTER!. there are great islamic progressive scholars from the arab world that nobody knows of who are creating a revolution in islamic thought. -
Why not run for the "Quran alone" political faction and the president office in the U.S.? Why such limited ambitions?
whats that suppose to mean?. i think were running in circles nothing is happening. i'm doing my part in educating people i know as well as strangers. what have you been doing?.

We are not peoples "Wakils" nor have we got a monopoly of GOD s Islam. It is an open invitation by GOD to all "Al Naas".
The common ground/battle ground is "the best of you are the best in character and behaviour".

IM HAVING MY OWN FAMILY TELL ME THAT IM STRANGE AND LOOSING MY FAITH LOL JUST BECAUSE IM RELIGIOUSLY EDUCATED AND A CRITICAL THINKER WHO BASES MY THOUGHTS ON THE SCRIPTURE WHICH IS UNHEARD OF APPARENTLY. YES I BELIEVE WE NEED TO DO BETTER BECAUSE WE THE SO CALLED 'ENLIGHTENED' AND 'GOD ONLY' FOLLOWERS HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO EDUCATE THE MASSES WHO HAVE AND PREACH AN EXTREMIST VERSION OF ALLAH'S PATH THAT IS CAUSING MUCH PROBLEMS WITHIN OUR COMMUNITIES LET ALONE THE WORLD. WE HAVE TO FIGHT FOR TRUE ISLAM TO PREVAIL AND NOT STAY UNDERGROUND. THERE IS SO MUCH CONFUSION AMONGST THE NEW GENERATION REGARDING THEY'RE FAITH WHEN PEOPLE GET RELIGIOUS EDUCATION THROUGH TRADITIONALISTS HADITH PREACHERS ON YOUTUBE WHO DO NOT PROMOTE THE NARRATIVE OF THE QURAN AND THIS I FIND IS THE ESSENCE OF OUR PROBLEM AS BELIEVERS. THE TRADITIONALISTS SEEM TO ALWAYS WIN I GUESS BECAUSE GOOD PEOPLE ARE WEAK AND UNHEARD OF. Or you mean people prefer to listen to them?Regardless of how it appears, falsehood is falsehood, even if it is disguised as truth. The long term of falsehood is limited.
Again "Wa Yadraoon Bil Alhasanati Al Sayiati" is the best path.
I get your frustration, but cleansing ourselves and being patient with what others are doing is the hardest task.

Who are those scholars in the Arab world? Do they have any following? Do they get media coverage?
The only scholar I know of is Ahmed Subhy Mansur of Egypt, who lives in US. Has a website in Arabic & English. Even him is unpopular and get no attention.OR MAYBE IM JUST BEING DRAMATIC!.

You can start by promoting them on social media, getting involved with them or even donating to them.

Absolutely. Personally, I write critiques of traditional Islam and post on forums. That's as much as I can do at this point, since I work alone. It's practically not much. But I prefer it to reading verses and doing nothing, while those verses are exploited by fanatics to cause nuisance and violate people's rights.

I'd recommend you to tread carefully. You want to teach the masses but who told you the masses want to be taught ?
Be mindful to people who are open to new ideas, those you can discuss with, but don't even expect to change their minds.People who consider teaching others should be people who have mastered their craft. Most of the time it's bored people acting like kids trying to tell everybody what they just found. Or people looking for recognition. Or people who take their religion or whatever very personally, people on an emotional quest. These are not even fit to teach anybody but themselves.
There is no reason to direct your attention toward the masses, the attention should be kept on yourself. Do you think you have mastered your craft ? Question your reasons.

We have one big problem and, excuse the comparison, it is the same problem prophets, revolutionaries and reformists have always met. If we are where we are, and we have hat e have, it is because there are very powerful interests to have things that way. The powerful have the money, and therefore the manpower and the means to keep thigns the way they are. Those who want to t?hange have to do it at their expense and very rarely they achieve great change.
What good logic says is true, but hat yous ay is also true. e do hat we can. I do nto kno here you are. I am in Spain, I write where I can and Muslims in the Spanish and portuguese speaking American also share in publications, but there are not big mainstream press to reproduce hat I write, it does not go well with their interests. We are choked and on top of that we can count always on a lot of efforts to divide us, that at times e share unawares. Anybody who publishes hatever idiocy about terrorism and hijab, may get a lot of publicity for free and be spoken about everywhere. Publish anything serious and it will be buried under the worthless mass of fake news and clich?s.So, I guess our weapons are just be there and keep trying and doing hat one can. Is it comparatively little? Doing nothing would still be less than that. We have to trust God and His means. He has them and we do not. And at any rate it is better to spend efforts in what one believes than doing nothing, and certainly more rewarding. So do not get discouraged if you do not get much results. You are there, and that is no mean achievement. Faith moves mountains when it translates into sincere and moral action.

We do know things og the Qur'an that have opened our eyes, we are not as deluded as other people. It is not pride, it is thankfulness that we want everybody to benefit from it. Not just us. I thingk that is what the original poster wanted to transmit.
So in fact it is not lawful for us not to attempt at leas to get to other people what has been good to us.
I think we all agree on that, though sometimes we may get carried away in the argumentation, but basically we do have that duty in the same way that one ho hapens to be a passer by in an accident has the duty to help those harmed.
If we know, we should not keep it for us. No need to push anything down anybody's throat, but transmit yes.

Others are not as deluded as you think and you are not as enlightened as you thinkIf you have something that will be an 'eye opener' for others, share it..
But always be on the lookout for an 'eye opener' from others too.The truth is nobody is 100% enlightened or 100% deluded.

Correct, you don't know what you don't know.
Once you know something new, the more you realize there are more things that you don't know.If somebody claimed that he/she is 'enlightened', most probably he/she is more ignorant than you.
?Wondering is the beginning of wisdom. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.?
