I have a few questions
-
Salam Antar,
The topic is discussed here on so many threads. There are people who still believe in salaat as a physical movements, others believe its a learning process, others believe its reaching out to God, and so on.
Those who do physical movements some of them are doing it 5 times per day, others 3 times per day and others 2 times per day.
You have to study the issue and come to your own conclusions.
Best regards,

peace be upon you Antar,
Many people ask questions about salat based on al quran (the reading). In my humble opinion, the reason they ask these questions is they are unsure, and the reason they are unsure is that they simply haven't studied the topic thoroughly. It took me 4 years of gradual study to develop my understanding, but finally, it became clear to me.
The best advice I can give you is start with the basics try to lead a righteous life whilst studying al quran. Take your time, investigate, question yourself, seek help from The Knowledgable, and be patient.
There are people who still believe in salaat as a physical movements, others believe its a learning process, others believe its reaching out to God, and so on.
Incidentally, none of the above really encapsulates my view. However, I dont want to say more than that, I'd rather have people study it for themselves.
My article on salat is geared towards promoting self-study of the term (this to me, is crucial). It lays the groundwork from which to build on. The reason for this is I have found it to be the most fruitful method of learning, and I plan to do that for all my articles in the future, unless The God Wills otherwise. Peace Antar,
I think that is great, if it's no hardship on you then it is good and no-one should stop you from standing devoutly to recite GODs revelations or to think about GOD.
People are different and if you wish to pray 5 times which is more than people who pray 3 times or twice like me, then thats OK. You have your understanding and you don't have to explain yourself to anyone about why you pray 5 times or 10 times to GOD!
Peace
Nural
