Out of Body Experiences/ Lucid Dreaming

I've experienced one end of the spectrum, and I was happy with that. But a good friend of mine actually reached the point one summer where he could do it at will. He decided to test his superpowers. He would summon monsters and kill them off, especially the ones that used to haunt his nightmares. Long story short, he was sorry that he did it in the end. In lucid dreaming, one has the ability to manifest his/her thoughts into being. You wanna see a ninja supermodel, you'll see a ninja supermodel. If doing bad is what you want, doing bad is what you'll get. Not much different than material reality.
More importantly, I think, is the function of the realm. I've heard stories where people would have full blown conversations with their mirror images. And these images would apparently possess abundant knowledge, true wisdom. That's what the lady in the program I watched mentioned. She said the place she visited seemed to possess all knowledge, albeit, unspoken.

isn't that always the impulsive answer of scientists? It's ridiculous that everything always has to fit into that same old mold. On the bright side, the program showed interviews with neuroscientists who presented themselves very open-mindedly.

I did at one point many years ago practiced telepathy, clairvoyance, psychometry, etc., during which I found or 'felt' myself afloat. When conscious, I was quite cold and tensed.
Fascinating! I'd love to hear more about it. Were you able to actually move things, see things, and what is psychometry?

I see your point. To be honest, my experience took me beyond even the acknowldgement of body. I was a floating soul without limbs, without structure whatsoever. I just was, and didn't realize in that moment that I was missing a body. It's really hard to explain. My lucid dreaming was different. I was still me, in my dream. It's just that I was consciously in my dream, capable of doing whatever I wanted to do. But the near-death experience was a whole different animal.
I was having sex and dare not mention the physical result, the other was a dream where I was flying very close to the ground, I gradually became aware that it was a dream and was very unhappy to finally "awaken" from that dream into this one

I used to lucid dream a lot - over ten years ago now.
I'd got so I could keep the dream running in that state for several hours - that I could hold myself on that point between sleep and consciousness and direct the dream. In the end I had to stop it tho cos it was frankly getting addictive. I'd start to wake around 8 and not be out of bed till 11 or later cos I was lucid dreaming. It was messing up with my work and in realised I was gonna mess up badly if I didn't start paying a bit more attention to reality!

I have noticed that near-death experiences and the readings description of judgement day/ressureection mirror eachother.
What I believe is interesting is that those who had these experiences often said words can not describe these events, rather they could only use examples to elude to it. This to me brought some clarity to verses I took as solely literal.

Out of Body Experience is possible and it's not hard as you think. I read a really good about this by Robert Bruce called Astral Dynamics A New Approach to Out-of-Body Experiences. With a bit of practice it can work and it is "real."
I've had experiences with it and let me tell you its the best feeling in the world but like people who have experienced it that words cannot describe how it feels. Now I kind of understand when God says this world isn't real and its an illusion, believe me it is. Any more info on this visit this forum its really good http//www.astralpulse.com/forums/index.php

I used to lucid dream a lot. I would be dreaming, realise that I was just dreaming, and then do whatever the heck I wanted to do in the dream. I did this for years. I always wondered why I was a lucid dreamer and what caused it.
For some strange reason, over the past couple of years, the lucid dreaming has stopped. I admit sometimes I miss it. -

I can agree, in a way. The one aspect of my near-death experience that I can relate is the feeling of complete detachment from my Earthly self. I was without a definition. I could see no "me". All I could see was what was before me, and seeing and feeling were intertwined into the same sense, is that makes any sense.
This was far different from my lucid dreaming experience. In lucid dreaming, I was "me", except that I could do whatever I wanted. It seemed like the entire dream world was at my fingertips. I could manifest things simply by thinking about them. I could fly, I could float. I weightless. Yet whatever boundaries I thought existed, surely existed. I am sure that if I had decided that these boundaries should no longer exist, they would disappear.
You say you've done this quite a bit. Could you explain some of the things you did while in the lucid state? For instance, did you find you could manifest things? Did you find boundaries?

I agree wholeheartedly. This ties into the sufiism thread. I've often found myself propelled by reason and logic, and all of my studies and interpretations were painted with this bias. In truth, I'm realizing, reason/logic is only one tool of many that we have at our disposal.
It is mor responsible, I'd say, to allow for the possibility of a parallel existence before the Day of Judgement.

Not easily. As I said I used to enter a lucid dreaming stage as I woke up in the morning. You know sometimes you wake up and you take a moment to reaslise that you're awake and whatever you were dreaming about was a dream? Well I'd wake up and manage to be aware of my wakefulness without 'switching off' the dream state. Then in was like sinking back into something warm and wonderful. A very blissful sensation - even if the dream itself was something troublesome or strange. Because you're awareness of the moment as one of dreaming means nothing scares or worries you.

I also have experienced such thing (lucid dream), but not for long because then I woke up.
Kinda wish it could happen again.

Flying in dream is quite exciting. I pretty much often can fly in my dreams. D

In my dream last night, I was getting chased by a wild boar. As he was about to hit this puppy I was watching for some reason, I grabbed it and flew away. It was quite gratifying. I'm not sure how I just noticed this thread right now. I told everyone at work about it.

I used to have a recurring nightmare when I was kid that I was getting chased by a murderer on a unicycle. Seriously. I had this same dream like 5x, and the last time I decided I wasn't going to go through it. As he was chasing me, I ran into my friend's house, and straight deus ex machina, the entire neighborhood folded down like a pop-out book and I was at my dad's house at the beach.

I am not sure what lucid dreams are. But have you ever had a dream that you are dead, but you are somehow aware that you are dead? And then when you wake up you are confused as to how come you are alive again? And all that day you are like, expecting to die again, 'cause you figure you are not actually supposed to be alive anymore? hmm Had this a few times.

I've experienced my 2nd lucid dream.
It was longer than before. My 1st was very short if I'm not mistaken, I get nightmare and then I could realize that it was only dream and my nightmare became "erased/vanished" and I found myself in aware state in my own dream, but not long after that I woke up.
In my 2nd lucid dream, I could not fully control my dream (there are boundaries), l have to follow the events that occurred in my dream.
But I could "manipulate" the storyline, for example, I could change the color of a car as I want, I could transform myself, and then when there are some people seem tried to do something on me - I can't remember what they want to do - but I could defeat them easily only by touching them.
So, it's really exciting! It's more like a game, it feels like I took a walk enjoying the world in my dream, and I could influence my dream by using some sort of "magic tricks".

To them the experience is 'more real than living real' and 'not vague / dreaming' at all.And this is 'weird', a blind woman from birth was able to see for the first time during her Near Death Experience.
