Why did God choose Hellfire as a punishment specifically
-
Why the punishment of fire? what is the logic behind this?
Why isn't punishment such as extreme depression, misery, anxiety, fear, other forms of torture mentioned?
Also, we will not be wronged by an atom's weight...
But I don't remember burning anybody with fire? Why do so many people deserve to be burnt by fire?

Salam/Peace dear sister Sarah. I don't have a specific answer on why Allah (SWTAY) chose Hellfire but know that in 9215, only the most wretched will face it. Check the entire surah, it's has 21 verses. http//quranix.org/92#1
Al-Ashqa (الاشقى)
Shiin-Qaf-Ya = to be miserable, be wretched, in distress, be unhappy, unblessed, disappointed. ashqaa - most wretched.
shaqiya vb. (1)
perf. act. 11106
impf. act. 202, 20117, 20123shaqiy n.m. (adj. comp. ashqa) 11105, 194, 1932, 1948, 8711, 9112, 9215
shiqwah n.f. 23106

In certain context, it's someone who is unhappy or miserable but in other context, it can mean someone villainous.
It may not give you a direct answer but it could give you something to look at. There is a article from Joseph Islam on the Punishment of Hellfire

God says, the first time He speaks about hereafter, He says that jnna the fire are mathals. He also says that whatever we have done, even an atom we ill see it. It says also of a fire which fuel are men and stones. The fire is not alien to the sufferer, it is himself, or herself that fire.
We through our behaviour become that fire, e turn ourelves into that.
On the other hand, there are many words in the Qur'an that are translated as fire, so it is not a mere exchange coin. e will get our mesure. He says he will nto punish but the exact measures of evil deeds, but that He will give more than the measure back for good deeds.
It seems as if being bad forecloses or at least makes more difficult any further evolution for those condemned, and that being sincerely good opens the possiblity of further evoution to betterment.
Lastly it ll turns out to our own acknowledgement of our own nature and our condition with respect to God, the acknowledgement of Truth, and God is The truth. Where we live consistently in a world of twisted fantasy and take it for reality where would we expect to end? Fantasy is good as such fantasy, in fact it is very good. It is fantsy that allows us to imagine the horrible fire and the blessed bliss of the janna, but where we force reality out and we want our wild imaginations of ourelves and the world around to be the basis on which we behave and feel, there is no escape from ourelves and our fire.
In fact when we do not open our hearts up and insted become enclosed in our own smallness and meanness we shrink, shrink and shrink, what is that? black hole? May God guide us and not let us fall into that spiral, and open our hearts for His tender Mercy, for ourselves and His whole creation.

Salam Sarah,
Please have a look at this article on Hell, it may answer the questions you have raised

Salam brother Layth!
I started reading this beautiful article but stuck where 756-9 is mentioned. A bit puzzled with the word moon eclipse. How would you explain it? Do you think the moon and the sun would crush the earth between them? Appreciate your reply!
Peace! -

I had a look. The word is "Khasafa" which is used to denote a collapse/sinking (see 16272, 1768, 2881, 2940, 6716).
"Eclipse" is a wrong translation.
