    Salam to All,

If a person is on medication which requires him/her to take them, is it right if he took the medication and continue fasting, will not God reward these people for continuing their fast?

I do know if you are ill you can compensate it by feeding the poor or fasting other days.

But my question is what if people took their medication (tablets or capsules) and continued fasting. Will they be rewarded

    Input will be appreciated

    God bless you all

We NEED to underdtand what was the FAST ?

How nations/people before us performed it ?

Why doing something what make someone do something with force and who will gona decide the time span ?

Issue upon issues but we just copy cat our elders without our own reason and investigation are we LAZY ?

      Things COMMON during fasting?

FIGHT/ARGUE over cresent and first day of saum from the lunar calender which itself is contradictory in which seasosn never stay at fix pattern .

Fight over timinngs of opening fast sunset/night both sunni shia from last many centuries still not unanimous bout night and sunset.

Pricing of general commodities rise and boostup at extreme.
Mixing water in milk to make more yougart (dishonesty)
Fighting over getting things quick ( no rule of que )
      People absent from duties (doctors)
People sleeping a d getting lazy due to a reason they are hungry and while asking them to perform duties they said we are fasting lol.

THERE IS SOMETHING TERRIBLY WRONG WITH TRADITIONAL UNDERSTANDING.

People worship food more than GOD go on guys happy ramadhan to all of you group

If he can fast without detriment, he can take medication before in the Sehr and at Aftar.

Depends what you consider the purpose of fasting.

Does taking your meds breaks the purpose of fasting ?

What if he requires to take medication in between. Example is an asthmatic person. It can kick in any time? Can he use his/her medicine and continues fasting?

            God bless you

                  Thank you brother Imaran,

Some of the discussion over there is beyond my understanding capabilities I have to admit. But for the time being I am going with the traditional understanding of fasting to abstain from food and sex and to commemorate God alot.

                  God bless you all

                        Salam Brother.

Good if is you find in this tradition something to "...so that, perhaps, you preserve yourself by being cautious" in your daily life.

                        Peace

Where are you absorbed dear. I mean the timings I mentioned, they are before start and after end of Fast.

Sorry but quran doesn't mention " medication". In your understanding of these ayats if you are ill you don't need to "fast" (siyam or sawm or the same for you ?). Simple.
another crazy question if fast means to "prohibite of eat and drink and sex.." during the DAY time (sun is visible) what does means the "NIGHT of fast" in 2187 ?
