    Salam Everyone,

This explanation of ayat (877) can be found in Ibn KHATIR's tasfir
"O Muhammad," said God, "we teach you the Koran, you will not forget it" and this is a promise from God that he will teach him the Koran and never forget it "unless may Allah willing him. "Subsequently, the Prophet (may Allah bless him and greet him) recited the Quran without omitting anything except in the event that God wanted it." For He knows the visible and the invisible Nothing is hidden from him from the acts and words of His servants. "

this verse has always posed a problem for traditional exegetes on its interpretation and for the Orientalists who see it as proof of successive additions to the original text.

I hope once again to prove to you that the set of symmetries implemented in the Quran makes it possible to solve this problem. Once again, the Koran has a structure and a way of organizing the speech proper to it (called "rhetorical analysis" or "Semitic analysis&quot with which we are no longer accustomed (linearity # symmetry-paronomase among others ..)

Sura 87 is paired with Sura 88. Now it happens that Sura 88 also contains a passage that could be as ambiguous (88 21-26) but easier to understand than the passage of Sura 87. This set of inter-suras symmetry is a sign of god to better understand the ambiguous passage sura 87.

    Sura 88 (21-26) A - B - A' - B'

    Only you (are) a reminder,

You are not over them an controller.

Only whoever turns away and have been ungrateful,
(coz) Then God will punish them (with) the punishment greatest.

Indeed to us (will be) their return,
Then, Indeed, upon Us (is) their account.

    Sura 87 (6- A - B - A' - B'

    We will make you recite,

    so not you will forget,

    Only what God wills,
(coz) Indeed he knows the public mention and the hidden.

And We will ease you to the ease.

So, now we can read the text by associating the A with the A 'and the B with the B' and another understanding is raised (specially for surah 87).

    Example with surah 88

    • Only you (are) a reminder, Only whoever turns away and have been ungrateful, (coz) Then God will punish them (with) the punishment greatest.

    • You are not over them an controller. Indeed to us (will be) their return, Then, Indeed, upon Us (is) their account.

    Example with surah 87

    • We will make you recite, Only what God wills, (coz) Indeed he knows the public mention and the hidden.

    • so not you will forget, and (because) We will ease you to the ease.

    A last remark

    • it better illuminates the end of Sura 87 and its allusuion to the ancient writings of Abraham and Moses

The word "apocryphal" from the Latin apocryphus, itself derived from the ancient Greek ἀπόκρυφος, apókruphos ("hidden", "secret&quot.

I refer you to my thread which identifies (with a credible hypothesis) what these writings were, rediscovered during the last 2 century.

    Historical view

    • The period of the revelation of the Quran (beginning of the 7th century) is, according to the historians, in the period known as "late antiquity" (4th - 8th century).
It is a period of strong religious syncretism with many groups and sects around the Middle East.

    Peace be upon you

Both highlighted are not there in the original text. The later bold is in fact futuristic event while in Original text the verb is past perfect.

      سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ .8706٦

Our Majesty will keep reciting, time and again, to you the Messenger the text of Qur’ān. Thereby (text being internalized), you the Messenger do not and will never forget it—

      إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ

The reason for not forgetting is none except that Allah the Exalted did not so will.

Both the verbs are Imperfect, Indicative Mood and the first verb is prefixed with future and recurring particle. The second object of first verb is elided since understood, Qur'an.

        Salam Mahzar and others readers,

        Traditionnal view is illogic..Proofs

        (1) common sense

Muhammad ASAD (probably the best english traditional translator) stated (i agree with him on this part of the note 4 of ayat 874)
        "
The classical commentators assume that the above words are addressed specifically to the Prophet, and that, therefore, they relate to his being taught the Qur'an and being promised that he would not forget anything thereof, "save what God may will ". This last clause has ever since given much trouble to the commentators, inasmuch as it is not very plausible that He who has revealed the Qur'an to the Prophet should cause him to forget anything of it. Hence, many unconvincing explanations have been advanced from very early times down to our own days, the least convincing being that last refuge of every perplexed Qur'an-commentator, the "doctrine of abrogation" (refuted in my note 87 on 2106).

        (2) illogical with the symmetry of the piece of Surah 98

        Only you (are) a reminder,
You are not over them an controller.
Except whoever turns away and have been ungrateful,
(coz) Then God will punish them (with) the punishment greatest.
Indeed to us (will be) their return,
Then, Indeed, upon Us (is) their account.

=> In your logic, Muhammad is not a controller/Punisher EXCEPT for "non-believers". But god says he is "only a reminder" and God will be in charge of their punishment. CONTRADICTION.
=> Re-read my first post and meditate on symmetry of God's signs.

        (3) Literal context surah 86-87 and 93-98 "the prophet in crisis"

we are at the beginning of mecca preaching and he is rejected massively and even prevented from preaching in public at least.

From The Monotheist Group (The Quran A Monotheist Translation)
933 Your Lord has not left you, nor did He forget you.
934 And the After is better for you than the first.
935 And your Lord will give you and you will be pleased.

969 Have you seen the one who prohibits,
        9610 A servant from praying (reciting god's messages) ?

8615 They are planning a plan.
        8616 And I am planning a plan.
8617 So respite the rejecters, respite them for a while.

        etc...

876 We will let you read (futur proche !), so do not forget.
=> the word "sanuq'ri-uka". The same root word than IQRA (Call-Recite!).
=> This root calls for public preaching

------- Conclusion My comprehension ! (fictitious speech from God to Muhammad in this literal context -------------

We know that you are going through a very difficult time.
You thought you were listening and heard by yours but this is not the case and you despair.
However god is the best of the allies. He has the mastery and the power over everything (creation ...).
So, we will soon allow you to recite IN PUBLIC the divine message with ease, without constraint.
So, during this difficult time, hold on to the reminder and my messages (9716-19 "No,you desire the worldly life although the life to come is better and more enduring. This has been revealed in the previous scripts. The leafs of Abraham and Moses.) it is your only life-saving.
This reminder is not new (pleonasm!). It is already in ancient writings that they want to hide from the public. Take support from the model of ancient messengers (Musa and Ibrahim) for having courage and persevere. Remember how they succeeded despite great difficulties with their own family for Ibrahim (father) or powerful leaders (Firaoun).
What you are living is the sunnah of the messengers who came before you.
        Be patient..God is with you.

=> A Lesson for us, at our level, in front of difficulties. The traditional vision does not bring out lessons for us (historical fact limited to Muhammad)

        Peace

          .
Again against the original word. شَآءَ is Past/Perfect verb The previous verb is Imperfect.

This is Restriction/Confining Particle, also termed الاِسْتِثْنَاءُ Exception. Its use and meanings are quite near to core meanings of English word "Except" a grammatical word indicating the only person or thing that does not apply to a statement just made, or a fact that modifies the truth of that statement; further denotes excluding other than; and as a transitive verb means omit to leave out or exclude somebody or something.

What is excepted or excluded is called الْمُسْتَثْنَى and that from which it is excepted is called الْمُسْتَثْنَى مِنْهُ. However, in Arabic this particle can be used in two situation where الْمُسْتَثْنَى مِنْهُ is earlier mentioned or is not mentioned

Exception is thus of two types

1.تَامٌّ both the things, that which is excepted and the thing from which exception is made

          1. مُفَرَّعٌ The thing from which exception is made is not mentioned. Declension in this case is as if exception particle was not there.

First type can further be of two types

مُنْقَطِعٌ Both are of different kind; or مُتَّصِلٌ both are of same kind.

مُتَّصِلٌ When both are of same kind their declension is determined by nature of sentences

If the sentence is negative, prohibitive or interrogative, the excepted is either accusative or will match case of thing from which exception is made,

If the sentence is affirmative, the excepted object is always in accusative case.
