        Salaam Fahad,

I read the article today and felt my heart jump. Truly astonshing stuff. And yet more proof that the Quran is a mricale and been preserved.

I read a verse today and immediately remembered the article and self reference.

        5920

5920 The inhabitants of the Fire and the inhabitants of Paradise are not equal. The inhabitants of Paradise shall be triumphant.

        It is similar to

        3520

3520 The blind and the seeing are not equal,

The blind - mentioned 8 times
The seeing - mentioned 9 times

According to the article, well actually, according to the Quran's perfect self reference there should be more 'inhabitants of Paradise' words than 'inhabitants of Fire' words.. (1 more in fact, if the trend is followed)

I have a Quran with an index at the end, and a quick look however doesn't look good. A quick count shows that 'inhabitants of Pradise' is mentioned 14 times. 'inhabitants of Fire' is mentioned 20 times.

In the verse itself, self reference holds true. 'inhabitants of Paradise' mentioned twice, 'inhabitants of Fire' mentioned once.

Shouldn't it hold true in the whole Quran?

I have checked the count from one index, my assumption is that it is a right count.

            Salam,

Verse 5920 mentions Ashaab Al-Jannati twice, bringing the total count to 14 I think.

Talking to a friend tonight, he put forward the idea that the reason the phrase count of 'inhabitants of Fire' is more than 'inhabitants of Heaven' is because after Judgement, there will be more people in Fire than in Heaven.

Sounds reasonable..... but why the big difference in numbers? 20 compared to 14 in my count, and 19 compared to 13 in Hati's count?

Difference of 6............................ in the other 'unequal' things in the Quran (blind and seeing, depth of darkness and the light) the difference is only 1....

In my search for the answers regarding Hadith and Sunnah (see my intro, my story), after reading this article, I am now sure that it is the Quran that will teach us the Quran, with God's willing and help.

It also shows that to understand a verse, you have to read the whole Quran.,,,, proof is that you can not understand the meaning behind 5100 without looking and counting all the Good (Al-Tayib) and Evil (Al-Khabeeth) mentioned in the Quran. Then only would their equality in numbers surprise you, thats the 'surprise'in 5100.

Now logically, doesn't this hold true for every verse? Therefore you can not say, we need hadith to explain Quran.

            I'm learning everyday!

              Peace,
              Respectfully.

"Say If the whole of mankind and jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur?an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support." (Qur?an Al-Isra 178

Why do they not study the Quran carefully? If it were from other than GOD, they would have found in it numerous contradictions.

Glory be to our God, The Exalted, The Forgiver.
Glory be to The Exalted God, The Most Merciful.
              Peace. jedi

                  Salam,

The count of as hab alnnar to be 19 is significant because it now clarifies 7431 particularly the reference to

"We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, ..."

It speaks of the number of as-haba alnnari and the count of its occurrence in the quran is 19! and in the preceding verse 7430 "Over it nineteen" the more clarifies.

Note also I will not tackle the issue of fitna here.

                  God bless

                    Salam Hati,

Interesting! I will certainly double check the count of Ashaab Al-Nari again!

19 angels guarding (mastering) the fire, for 19 Ashaab Al-Nari, (1 angel for each group - ashaab)

                    So 19 - 14 = 5

                    5 more than Ashaab Al-Jannat.....

                    Regards

                    Ramzi
