All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

i have read many posts but still i need some explanation
        please someone explain to me

what is the meaning of Rawāsiya
i have read the post about the meaning of Rawāsiya and tamida
        but still not fully satisfied

according to huruf the translation was wrong
        some says its right
uq said that Rawāsiya should be translated as firmly grounded
but some says it should be translated as stabilizers

what is the real meaning of the word
plus i don't know Arabic grammar please answer me on this question
i have used many dictionary's but no one says that Rawāsiya means mountains

i know there is no errors in the Quran but still this verses are confusing me
and anti-Islamic sites like wikiislam.net and answering christianity are making fun of that verses

i am very sure that the verse is not talking about earthquakes because tamida does'nt means earthquakes
its means moving in turns or circulating or shift or move voilently
and 'An' means that or so that why the translator translated as lest

According to Quran mountains are erected out of the ground not threw from the space
        As According to the Quran
        8819
        وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَت
        translations
        dr.kamal omar
and to the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm
        I.B.Irving
Nor how the mountains have been erected?
        meadows rodwell
And to the mountains how they are rooted
        Sahih International
And at the mountains - how they are erected
        links to more translations
        https//islamawakened.com/quran/88/19/default.htm

so Quran suggesting that mountains are rooted or erected not come from space or
so what does laqqi means in a verse if its threw or cast then it cant be applicable to mountains
please right me if i am wrong
i am waiting for the answer

            Peace .
And of course this view add to your repertoire of views
            https//wikiislam.net/wiki/The_Quran_and_Mountains

I suggest you find your own pondering what is out there .
Qoran is not a book about mountains. Qoran is a book about salvation first. Verification of certain things that we humans are still investigating and trying to learn more about is no proof that Qoran is right or wrong from our theories. Look how many times Science have corrected itself in the past 100years.

People therefore argue for and against and will keep doing so.
However,If one believes Qoran is authored by GOD ,then GOD cannot be wrong by definition.
            GOD bless you.
            Peace

Thank you for clearing my issue
                but what does rawasiya means

if this means peaks or immense structure this can be mean lithosphere plates because they are also immense and above the surface of earth

they also move and oscillate and also shift all this meaning can be applicable to lithosphere plates
im no geologist so if i am wrong correct me

                Peace!

peace, it's obviously talking about an above ground land feature.

rawasiya/high peaks (uninhabitable) source of rivers/drinking water

l-jibali/the mountains (habitable), hills, plateaus, highlands, etc.

I think Rawasiya are Plate Tectonics as Quran mentions them being huge and placed on the top of Earth just like mountains. Plate Tectonics are made up of Crust and Outer Mantle we call Lithosphere, which are 125 km think on average. Far more thicker than Mountains. This will fit in with the description of 'that they shift with you' instead of 'lest they shake with you' if the correct meaning of 'An' is done. Plate tectonics do indeed continuously move. Mountains also move but they serve as pegs for these plate tectonics, not the whole Earth. The tectonic plates keep them from drifting further down in subduction zones and therefore are pegs for tectonic plates looks more accuarte. 'Rawasiya' literally means anchorage while Mountains are their anchors. Jabal is mountain linguistically as well but Rawasiya is in no shape or form literally and linguistically mountain but an anchorages. So the Mountains act like anchors for Rawasiya i.e. their anchorage. Furthermore, no where in Quran Rawasiya is singular but always plural, unlike mountains where there is both single and plural used for mountain in Quran. As far as the argument goes that it looks like an above ground feature, this is not necessary. The rivers and roads are formed over mountains as well as on land, which is plate tectonics in reality. So rivers and broadways can form on all land not just mountains. This argument is even closer to Plate Tectonics than Mountains. God shouldn't have said we created roads and rivers in it for mountains alone as these features are not specific to mountains but apply to the whole Earth. Even the Mid-Atlantic Ridge looks more like a road or Broadway or path caused due to divergent plate tectonic boundaries. As far as I know, Rawasiya is not the 'source' of rivers as asserted, but God says that he created on them roads and rivers. And Allah knows best.
