wakadhalika awhayna ilayka ruhan min amrina ma kunta tadri ma al-kitabu wala al-imanu walakin ja'alnahu nuran nahdi bihi man nashau min ibadina wa-innaka latahdi ila siratin mus'taqiminAnd thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command. You did not know what is Al-kitabu and not Al-imanu, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed you guide to a straight path -
I'm in the process of trying to understand the nature of 'al-kitab' throughout Al-Quran and I'm wondering if anyone has any opinion on this ayah regarding 'We have made it a light Do you think the 'light' in this ayah is referring to said Al-Kitab or is it referring to Al-iman or is it both?
I'm leaning towards it being both but I'd appreciate any input or ideas.

Peace...
It seems both but practically it cannot be both... And even grammar does not support for one(unless arabic has different rules)..
Compare the verse with 1930 and 2535 only book is mentioned.. Coz Isa and Musa were believers even before the book... That's my understanding..
But Muhamed and his companions were on the edge of hell fire before guidance came to them..
Muhamed never read any book of God and he was not even aware what iman is...So.. It is perfect to say what the verse 4252 indicate...
Anyhow in the verse light is book only.. Book/s revealed by God is always guiding light...
Iman get cultivated by such guiding light.. Iman itself cannot be a guiding light.. Coz for iman it needs a guiding light.. Be it book or be it God's inspiration etc..So.. I take it as one and it is book which is light..

Peace jkhan
after thinking abouut the ayah for a couple days I see that it may be, in fact, referring to the awhyayna ilayka ruhan min amrina perhaps the inspiration itself is the nur that Allah is referring to here.
Al Kitab is a part of that wahi
God knows best.
