Quran says humans think by brain.

      https//www.miracles-of-quran.com/brain_functions.html

I knew one would bring this also...
Yes.. Don't deny the functions of brain also... 7179 is more than enough to judge what heart can do...
Go in line with Quran and don't go in line with science.. It won't take you nowhere..

Peace, its not about what majority says, its all about evidence , and proven science, not theory, One can believe in God and not accept quran, thats why jews and christians who have 3 parameters will not be sad according to what Quran says, and remember brother if a book says something opposite to whats proven science says, its the error of the book, not proven science , cuz creator of this science for sure, 100% is God, but humans can write a book too, but i insist that its poor understanding/translation

Because of the Mercy and help of God, im Medical student, so its not about blindly following what others says, if you doubt about that heart thinks or not, stop making funny theories and study science, i dont say that blindly follow what A,B,C says, just study yourself.

I'm already reading the whole paragraph together. And the Qur'an says that the thinking organ is the brain.

When you read the verses together, this picture emerges. I also have a Turkish article about it.

The thinking organ is the brain, according to God.

            Peace

Peace Mahdi20, your position breaks my brain heart.

Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel-for he brings down to thy heart by Allah's will,
a confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings for those who believe,-

When one hears some good news, do they experience joy in their brains or in their hearts? hmm
When one hears some bad news or hears of a loved ones death, does one feel pain in ones brains
or does one feel pain in their hearts?
When one loves someone, does one love someone with their brains or from their hearts? hmm
When one sends a message of love to someone, does one send the portrait of a brain or a heart?
When one is betrayed, does one feel or say that the person has broken my brain or he/she has
                broken my heart?
When one memorizes something, does one say that I have memorized it by my brain or does one
say I have memorized it by heart? hmm

Therefore whomsoever Allah intends that He would guide him aright, He expands his
breast for Islam, and (for) whomsoever He intends that He should cause him to err, He makes his
breast strait and narrow as though he were ascending upwards; thus does Allah lay uncleanness
on those who do not believe.

                peace

Peace hawk, i know what you want to say, you want to say its a metaphor and simile?

This would be true if those things wasnt there, as jkhan said, in so many place qalb came with eyes and ears, which they arent metaphors, it doesnt make sense that 1/3 of these are metaphors in this verse

Also in 2246, in addition to thing that i mentioned above, it says that qalbs which are in sadrs(chests?) , it cant be metaphor, or simile, cuz it says فی الصدور , it talks about the location…also in verse about embryology it says that God gave you hearing, seeing and fawad, it cant be metaphor .

And also origin of all of the experssions you mentioned above is because of the ancient belief that humans think with their hearts.when i say this experssions, the person that i talk with knows that i know that we think with our brain, but in quran the word for brain=دماغ isnt even mentioned,

                  Peace

You are lost in no man's land brother Mahdi..
I understand you in this manner.. You say God does exist and still you can be a believer and achieve success hereafter by rejecting all books that claim to be from God..
For example 7179 is clear.. Three organs and their main functions are clarified.. But for you based on science heart doesn't do the duty of understanding /perceiving.. So this book cannot be from God the creator but human invention or it is interpreted wrong.. It is not interpreted wrong but it is manifest..
One can be a Muslim without a God revealed book.. But one cannot maintain faith and become a believer a d muththakun without God's direct guidance.. Guidance through messengers that is to say without God's explanation literally..
One should know what happens if I do this and what happens if I avoid this.. All these explanations are in God's book then only a muslim cultivate himself to the level of believer and beyond..
But you say these books are lies.. Are you or not ?
So for a second let me come in your path.. Okay I believe in God like you believe.. So we are submitters.. Okay dude.. Cool..
What happens to me after death? Do you speculate OR you have your own senses..
Let me put differently.. I want to marry 10 women... Would you pls advise me what to do without book.. Is it okay if I do so? Is it our own wish or need to obey God.. If so how without a book?
So what is the gauranttee being good will take me to a place which is pleasant after death.. So I can live as my mind wishes and still expect some superior power would accept my behaviour.. Why believe in a superior power in the first place if that superior power failed to give the guidance in clear cut way..

Your philosophy is erroneous and cannot be applicable dude..
Just accept the book.. Scientists are human and they have not proved anything with clarity that brain is the reason for one to cry..
One challenged me recently Education can change the world.. No way.. Education merely cabnot change but heart should develop to become a human being..
Take it or leave.. Your way will not take you anywhere but loss..

Yes, when we read the paragraph in its entirety, we clearly see that the thinking organ is the brain. The Qur'an clearly states this.

But it also refers to the heart, all organs, even all our cells and even inanimate objects. The mind is concentrated in the densest brain, but in general, there is consciousness in all our cells and even in the entire universe. Even the universes created by Allah are like living organisms.

                      Peace

Peace jkhan, knowing of Good and Evil are in our genetic code, even quran agree with this right?i think its in surah al-shams, religious books and moral books are just a reminder, there are so many atheists who do good works/ charity why they do this? Cuz its in our genetics. There are so many animals which sacrifice their livesfor saving others, why they are doing this? Cuz according to their genetics they know that saving other lifes are good jobs, and we are no more than upgraded version of this animals, we are all result of an single cell mitosis, read chapter 4 verse 1 .

                        Peace emre

U said there is consciousness in all our cells and even in the entire universe

Wrong, unless you explain consciousness by another way that we usually explain, nobody think(تعقل) by his/her liver, nor by his hand, nor by his heart,

Still not mentioning of word BRAIN/دماغ/مخ in quran(unless you translate qalb as brain) , the verse you mentioned arent referring to brain, look at the interpretations of un-modern books, the explanaition you provided are a modern one which is after knowing the function if brain/frontal lobe, for more details Go read muhammad asad explaination of this verse by arabs language, which isnt reffering to frontal lobe of course.

No, the verses clearly refer to the brain organ. What is it to you and what is it to me from other people's statements?

Just read the Quran and study it yourself.

The Qur'an speaks clearly and clearly about the brain organ. Let only the Quran be your source.

There are some researchers that believe there is a two way connection between the heart and the brain and the human heart has a mind of its own. And these connections are not based on theories, but actual scientific experiments.

But in order to have a mind we have to be able to think, and for that we need neurons. It was once thought that the only organ in the human body to have neurons was the brain, but now we know this is not true.

We assume that the brain is controlling our emotions, but Professor David Paterson, Ph.D. at Oxford University, disputes this. He says that the brain is not the only organ that produces emotions. This is because the heart actually contains neurons similar to those in the brain, and these fire in conjunction with the brain. The heart and the brain are therefore connected

When your heart receives signals from the brain via the sympathetic nerves, it pumps faster. And when it receives signals through the parasympathetic nerves, it slows down,

                              says Paterson.

Neurons are associated with thought processes in the brain, but highly specialized ones have been found situated on the right ventricle surface of the heart. It begs the question, what are thought process neurons doing in an organ that pushes blood around our body?

These heart neurons can think for themselves.
In an experiment, a piece of right ventricle from a rabbit, where these specialized neurons have been found, is placed in a tank with oxygen and nutrients. The piece of heart manages to beat on its own, despite being unattached, suspended and having no blood flowing through it. When Professor Paterson shocks the heart tissue it immediately slows down this beating. Professor Paterson believes that is a direct decision made by the neurons as they respond to the impulse.
The heart also affects your mind
n a final test in the film, Someone looks at images, some neutral and some frightened. Some are synced in time to his heartbeat, and others are not. The results revealed that when he saw the frightened images in sync with his heartbeat he perceived them as being ‘more intensely frightened’ than when he saw them out of sync.

This would suggest that his heartbeat is affecting his mind, and processed a greater reaction in connection with the images and the heartbeat. During the test, researchers mapped the exact area of the brain that was affected by the heart, which was the amygdala.

The amygdala is known as the fight or flight brain structure and processes fear reactions, alongside signals from the heart. In this experiment, however, it is the human heart that is affecting the brain in the first instance.

However, there are still some scientists that argue having neurons in the heart does not make it a thinking organ. There are also neurons in the spinal cord and the nervous system, but they do not have minds either.

Yes my brother metaphors, similes, idioms, parables, similitudes and stories are used to convey meanings. yes

And also origin of all of the expressions you mentioned above is because of the ancient belief that
humans think with their hearts.when i say this experssions, the person that i talk with knows that i
know that we think with our brain, but in quran the word for brain=دماغ isnt even mentioned,

                                  Peace Mahdi20.
All I am saying is that Scientist are still researching the connection and the role of both the brain and the heart and the role of many other organs of our amazing body.
You say science has proved hat only the brain alone does all the thinking and controls all our emotions and other organs have no connection to our behavioural patterns. I am saying science is still researching the role of many organs.
I am not discussing specific Qoran or saying to you the heart is the main organ that does our thinking or that it has nothing to do with our thinking at all either

Hope you see the issue I am asking you to ponder.
Brother Hawk gave you another line of thought, which I agree with as Qoran uses either or both literal or abstract meaning. So it is up to you what to make of Qoran according to your own scrutiny /study.
For me it could br both as often science finds a lot of corrections and new facts as we are progressing with our search.
                                  GOD bless you.
                                  Peace.

                                    Peace Good Logic,

This topic isnt a topic for proving that heart beats, and this isnot the forum for discussing these matters, as i said before, if you want to learn science go study reliable books, not these funny articles from internet brother, my goal for posting this toping isnt to learn that what heart does or not.

I doubt that a professor says that “neurons think” , in one part of articles it said that heart beat even without being attached to brain or etc, this “professor” if he is 100% knows that its because why, around 1% percent of our heart cells create a system that create pulse and heartbeats, Nervous system only increase/desreace heartbeat, but it doesnt mean that heart thinks brother, when we were embryo, 100% of the heart cells had this abillity, but both me and you know that a 1 month embryo and etc cant think ) btw our nervous system and brain evolves and after this embryo begin to learn things, for example sounds i think.

Btw as i said my goal for posting this isnt to know that heart thinks, and i want to say again if you want to learn science, go read reliable sources my dear brother

                                    God bless you, peace

                                        Peace,

i have read lexicons and i saw that for the meaning of sadr they also say

                                        Hans wehrbeggining of something

Lisan alarab=اعلی مقدم کل شی و اوله

Steingass=the foremost or upperpart of anything

                                        Mufradat raghib=مقدم الشی

Dic of holy quran=upper part, higher point

As you see all of the lexicons above said in addition to chest, sadr means above part of something,

Why we cant translate sadr as upper part of body/head?

Will be thankfull if you guys help, peace

                                          Peace,

i have read lexicons and i saw that for the meaning of sadr they also say

                                          Hans wehrbeggining of something

Lisan alarab=اعلی مقدم کل شی و اوله

Steingass=the foremost or upperpart of anything

                                          Mufradat raghib=مقدم الشی

Dic of holy quran=upper part, higher point

As you see all of the lexicons above said in addition to chest, sadr means above part of something,

Why we cant translate sadr as upper part of body/head?

Will be thankfull if you guys help, peace

Now what Mahdi.. You want to take science and quran together so that people won't mock..
brother now you want to change Qalb = Brain.. Lol..
No simile OR mataphore.. It is easy to change subject by making things mataphore..
Can you tell me when God says we sealed their heart and what does it mean?
Does it mean god says brain is dead so he can't think and make decisions or his heart is sealed so he doesn't perceive.. But he still perceives..
They themself say that our hearts are sealed so we don't perceive.. Is it funny?
Quran verses are manifest.. Organ heart ♥ is the one which perceives according to Quran... That's the ultimate proof.. Let science say Whatever they want verses are clear.. Accept Quran is from God and say concocted ancient nonsense all same..

I would ask a question from brother Mahdi young fellow and all.. Allah says in Quran when he wants to create something He says "BE" and it is.. Is that possible according to science.. Just say and it is.. Lol.. I don't think it is possible according to science.. No way.. Science cannot accept it.. No way..
