Earliest scripts did not have vocalisation/tashkeel which means theoretically they could be recited in different ways however there is only a limited number of ways that would cause no contradictions etc, perhaps even only one way. There is very limited research done on the various readings and reconciling any issues by intra-Quran comparison.
We can theoretically use whichever reading makes sense / results in no issues, so if that is the most popular one then we can use that.

Salam everyone, does anybody know good sources or articles to understand quran variants/qiraat from a quran only perspective. No ahadith. Also which qiraat/ recitation is accurate?
