    Peace to every one here bros n sis here i came across the following verse Pm Translation

    6151 Say ?Come let me recite to you what your Lord has forbidden for you that you should not set up anything with Him; and be kind to your parents; and do not kill your unborn children for fear of poverty, We provide for you and for them; and do not come near lewdness, what is plain of it or subtle; and do not kill the soul which God has forbidden, except in justice. That is what He enjoined you that you may comprehend.?

    the other translations of 6151 r as follows

    006.151
    YUSUFALI Say "Come, I will rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you from" Join not anything as equal with Him; be good to your parents; kill not your children on a plea of want;- We provide sustenance for you and for them;- come not nigh to shameful deeds. Whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.
    PICKTHAL Say Come, I will recite unto you that which your Lord hath made a sacred duty for you That ye ascribe no thing as partner unto Him and that ye do good to parents, and that ye slay not your children because of penury - We provide for you and for them - and that ye draw not nigh to lewd things whether open or concealed. And that ye slay not the life which Allah hath made sacred, save in the course of justice. This He hath command you, in order that ye may discern.
    SHAKIR Say Come I will recite what your Lord has forbidden to you-- (remember) that you do not associate anything with Him and show kindness to your parents, and do not slay your children for (fear of) poverty-- We provide for you and for them-- and do not draw nigh to indecencies, those of them which are apparent and those which are concealed, and do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden except for the requirements of justice; this He has enjoined you with that you may understand.
    KHALIFA Say, "Come let me tell you what your Lord has really prohibited for you You shall not set up idols besides Him. You shall honor your parents. You shall not kill your children from fear of poverty - we provide for you and for them. You shall not commit gross sins, obvious or hidden. You shall not kill - GOD has made life sacred - except in the course of justice. These are His commandments to you, that you may understand."

    i will like to know wut r these gross sins/indecencies/lewd things /shameful deeds/lewdness where r they explained in Quran kindly explain this part of 6151 peace

      Salaams nexus,

      If you haven't before then;
      Try using Burhans (Go to 6151 and click on the Alfahsha)I find it very useful for research.Then the context of the verses tells a lot plus if you have a lanes or Quranic Dictionary.

      God Bless.

          I can't tell you the final answer. However, a friend and I decided to use the search function on the free-minds.org Qur'an site to look for the word
          "lewdness". Perhaps you should go ahead and search for "gross sins" and "major sins" as well....most of it was referenceing sexuality. I posted the link below. Again, it may not be the final answer, but its a start. Perhaps someone will be able to provide you with their knowledge. wink

            Peace naxus, all

            As was suggested before, you can take a look at the list of verses containing the root "f h' sh " . It will help you see the context.

            http//www.openburhan.com/pages/ob237d.html

            P.S the list of occurence may not be complete.
