    Salam,
As usual every year I fast three days of Ramadan in September-October.
I post the dates on my timeline in @Twitter & the eve of my beginning the fast I post it here as copy & paste of my Twitter feeds...
This year is harder for me as I have an older sister of mine who is quite sick & myself have health issues as well plus suffer from anxiety...
anyway may Allah have Mercy on us all...

I believe Calendar Muhammad (P) used was luni-solar, with month meaning full moon, & Ramadan fixed as closest full moon to the Autumn equinox.

Verse 3639 of YaSeen from full moon to curved palm stalk.
Month starts with full moon & 10 days to disappearing as inverted curved crescent.
3639 As for the moon, We have ordained ˹precise˺ phases for it, until it ends up like an old, curved palm stalk. https//pic.twitter.com/xYGlJxpJDq

    Luni-Solar Ramadan 2022
Worked out using closest full moon to Autumn equinox, harvest moon is on 10 September 2022, in this case sixth full moon after Spring equinox.
I used to follow a strict 7th which would have been 9 October, but I feel more comfortable with closest. https//pic.twitter.com/bqT4MnrhKn

Though I might also fast for October 9 as well - I will fast in-cha-a-Allah 11, 12 & 13 September & maybe if up to it 10, 11 & 12 of October - the minimum is three days (ma3dudat) & the full period is 10 days like Hajj.

The period got over, the reddish bright moon is a treat to watch. So Hajj should be possibly December end, matching Winter Solstice.

        Salam theNabster,

        Muhammad (P) can't have used luni-solar calendar
because the moons in the calendar are a product of nasy (3637)
and they are all a lie. Muhammad (P) knew that full well.

Take the earth's revolution around the sun in 2015 and 630,
it has 13 full moons. But the luni-solar calendar has only 12.
So the 13th (full)moon has to be canceled on paper.
But it is only a whim, no cancellation takes place in the sky.

moon in the sky................moon on paper.....full moon time
        13th full moon >>>>> Rabiul- Awwal........25 Dec 2015, 630

        As is seen,
the moon the luni-solar says is Rabiul-Awwal
        is actually the 13th moon.

All the moons after that follow suit, they are a lie

moon in the sky....................moon on paper........full moon time
        Rabiul-Awwal >>>>>>> Rabiul-Akhir..............24 Jan 2016, 631
        Rabiul-Akhir >>>>>>>> Jumadal-Awwal.......23 Feb 2016, 631
        ...
        Shahr Ramadan > >>>> Shawwal..................... 19 Jul 2016, 631

              Peace Brook.

              When JinnJinn said this,quote

"Another ritual. better to find out what Ramadan and Sawm is rather than worrying about months"

This would have been a good idea if JinnJinn gave a reason, like his take on it which will be helpful and will compliment what he said. Especially if it is done with some "Sultan Mubeen"/good advice i.e people will be corrected with some evidence/better knowledge.

Left as it is reminds people- me at least- that there is no benefit/learning/constructive... behind what was said to people.
GOD teaches us how to have fruitful .amicable and useful conversations, like
" Call to GOD s way-the best way- with wisdom, good solid advice and debate with them by a better knowledge/argument"
Not this, and this is general, it can apply to any of us

"They argue against God's revelations, without any basis. This is a trait that is most abhorred by God and by those who believe. God thus seals the hearts of every arrogant tyrant.
Of course if one gives some basis, any basis ,at least they would have tried.
              GOD bless you.
              Peace.

No one ever discussed what Ramadan and Sawam or Siyam is all about in this forum and on top that you want me to infuse and drag me to your never-ending debates.
So you give your opinion what Ramadan is rather than pointing at me. I know what it is and I am following it and I am not going to be bothered with your rituals, but I will raise voice against it. Because I know what I am doing.

                  Peace JinnJinn.

I will gladly quote Qoran for you about Sawm and Ramadan, and I let you wrestle with it with your own faculties. This is either a ritual or life like you say about many other habits we do in our life.
                  Here are the verses-

O you who believe, Sawm is decreed for you, as it was decreed for those before you, that you may attain salvation/ taqwa.

Good luck in your life and with your journey.
                  GOD bless you.
                  Peace.
