Quranically, is there anything wrong with praying the traditional sunni way?
Besides attahiyatu when you say peace be upon YOU oh prophet but I already know their explanation for that. Is there anything else that seems wrong or shirky?

      peace,

I think that is a tricky question as it depends on a few things. For example if a person follows "Quran only" and prays in the Traditional Sunni way (except the praising of other than God in the content) then in my opinion it is probably ok if

      1. they do not regard it as the only obligatory way / the only acceptable way as per God
      2. they do not tell others the Traditional Sunni way is the only correct way

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Yeah makes sense as long as you don't tell others it's how they have to pray.
Also thought of the part where you turn your head to right then left saying salam to angels. That also might be wrong to do..

There is nothing 'wrong' with praying in any way, since there isn't any 'correct' way either.
If we want to label 'wrong' is actually on the attitude, thinking that my/our way is the 'correct' way thus the other way is 'wrong' or 'incorrect', that will resulted in 'superiority complex' attitude which then resulted in pride and fanaticism.

Thus to summed up if there's anything wrong with "sunni's way" is their attitude that "their way of praying" is the only "correct way" and/or 'their way of praying is the only way that's being accepted by the one and only God of everyone and everything'.

Also thought of the part where you turn your head to right then left saying salam to angels. That also might be wrong to do..

There is nothing wrong to say peace to angels / human or anyone.
What is 'wrong' is if you think it's 'wrong' for others to say peace to angels.

I do offer prayer the sunni way with some changes.

            1. I do not read the prayer words at the start of prayer and i start my prayer directly with Sura Fatiha
            2. I read Quran as much from holding a copy of Quran in my hand and choose randomly. Rather than repeating a very few verses in all prayers, because the purpose of prayer is to remember allah and read his message with understanding and meaning.
            3. During sitting in the last rakaa, I tend to shy away from sending "durood" to prophet and his all (children) because that makes me feel like am asking for a blanket forgiveness for prophet's aal. While the condition is taqwah for any one. However I understand that in many verses of Quran God himself has mentioned that he raised certain nations like AAL Omron over others as HE wishes. So who am I to question the Lord. However still I could not recite the so called "durood ibrahim". perhaps some folks can guide me further.

            thanks
