    Peace

I tend to like Qur'an-alone websites. I often learn more or am reminded of what I already know. This is great and helps me stay on the right path. However, sometimes Qur'an aloners will state their opinions and worldviews, etc. as if they're facts which I think comes across as big-headed and ignorant.

For example, I read the following article on race

    https//www.qurania.org/race-and-tribe-in-the-quran

Now I understand what s/he's trying to say. God created different nations/ethnicities. This is a blessing from God. It helps us recognise one another. But then they bring in their own opinion of how 'miscegenation' is wrong (of course they haven't written this literally but that's what they're implying). Now I understand how someone of a single ethnic background can easily fall for such a mistaken view. But as someone who is born of 'miscegenation' (notice the dictionary definition for this word is classed as derogatory), I can easily see how wrong they are on this subject. Yes, God made us into different nations and tribes so that we can get to know one another. But this does not mean that 'race mixing' is wrong or destroying/ altering God's creation. It doesn't mean we have to preserve a certain race or ethnic group. We all came from Adam and Eve. We are the same human race.

The writer of the article then quickly brings politics into the equation, how liberals and modern society encourage race mixing, and how they compare this to other forms of diversity such as transgenderism, etc. As if two individuals who happen to be of different races only marry because they are under the influence of liberalism and modern society. Surely they can't have a mind of their own or can't happen to have fallen for the person as an individual who just so happens to be of a different race? Everything about mixed-race relationships is seen as some sort of 'trend' by the author.

As a mixed-race individual, this article made me feel like my birth was a mistake. I know that there's nothing in the Qur'an that forbids a mixed race or mixed ethnic marriage.
The writer of the article brings up this verse

(3021) One of His signs is that He created for you spouses like your selves so that you may live with them with affection and mercy - there are signs in this for people who reflect.

The writer is using this verse to imply that God made spouses for us of our own race. But obviously, it can't mean that. We are all from Adam and Eve after all. The verse clearly implies spouses of the human race.

'On a related note, the concept of multiculturalism leads to the destruction of all distinct peoples and cultures.'

How about, it can bring about new mixed cultures? Why is that such a threat? There will always be people who desire to marry someone of their own race and there will be people who desire people of other races. Why can't both homogeneous and non-homogeneous cultures exist? When I personally go out and I see british and chinese, white and asian, black and white, black and south asian couples, etc. I think wow, look at the beauty of love and humanity. I don't think, 'Society is corrupted by the satanic system that is seeking to destroy cultures!'. I see a positive change in society compared to how it used to be when people were segregated and when Hitler committed the holocaust.

'The Satanist globalists that rule over us are no different from the pharaohs of the past, all wishing to transform and alter mankind.'

I think 'the Satanic Globalists' are a little more peaceful now than Hitler was and I think Hitler was more like Pharaoh than they are. So now being mixed race is 'altering mankind'?!? Why does everything turn into a conspiracy theory with some Qur'an aloners? So basically, I and other people being mixed race means we're not 'proper' humans, we're 'altered' humans with altered genetics? I'm such a flaw, oh no! Lord forgive me for being mixed race! This is exactly the type of thinking some Christian extremists have who think that race mixing is a sin. Even most practicing Sunnis realise marrying people of other races/ cultures is not a sin.

S/he mentioned one small part of a study about why race mixing is apparently bad and didn't bother mentioning many other studies that show how it can be healthy for future generations. They are picking and choosing. The truth is, there are advantages and disadvantages for both sides.

'Surely, a questioning mind will ask, what would be the purpose in the creation of different peoples if humanity mixes and destroys the diversity that God created?'

It happens naturally. It's not like people say let's be 'trendy' and marry x race. People fall in love. People connect based on factors outside of race such as religion, intelligence, emotional connection, shared life experiences, looks, etc. Again, s/he seems to demonise mixed-race relationships and seemed threatened by them. It will 'destroy' culture and existing races! etc. whereas the reality is that nobody is forcing anybody to marry outside their race. There will always be people who marry within their own race (the majority as of now) so the existing cultures in the world will most likely not die out. But what's wrong with new cultures and ethnic backgrounds emerging simultaneously?

'While we have determined that being racially conscious is a natural and righteous act, it must be stressed that there is no racial or tribal preference in the Quran.'

I don't know if it's 'natural' to prefer your own race (maybe if that's what you're most exposed to?) but it's not 'righteous' to prefer your own race, it's neutral. It's like preferring vanilla ice cream to chocolate. Or your own country's cuisine instead of other cuisines. The latter I can agree with. There is no racial or tribal preference in the Qur'an so why is the rest of the article contradicting this statement?

After having read this article, I felt like I'd lost some brain cells. How can a Qur'an aloner be this ignorant and race-obsessed? It can't just be me, surely the writer of the article is racist?

      Salam..

You are sentimental... Sorry to say that... That's what I sense by what you have written.. But fortunately you have grasped who she is... You have given your judgement on her by what she has written... Why it made you to say is coz you realized that what is written in her article is wrong... So blamed her... I am not against your understanding of her... You are absolutely right and not she..

Let me remind you again.. There is no Quranist... If anyone calls him/her self as Quranist then I doubt their faith.. Only one thing is true.. That is to say we believe in Quran and we believe in God.. Muslims / surrendered person to God and then God will become believer etc... Call always a Muslim...

Well... Everyone who says who follow Quran alone for guidance won't become the follower of Quran... (everyone who has driving licence won't become good drivers) Those who in fact follow Quran is indeed believers (similarly those who follow driving rules always are indeed good drivers and not those who have licence) .. In a simple way... Those who believe and do righteous good deeds are in fact the followers of Quran (I am not talking previois generations who lived in the past)..

Well difference of opinion is no harm... But giving one's own understanding and be adament without debating with others who give their understanding through Quran and give a thought to is absolutely eccentric unless he or she has a strong point which was not outclassed by other views..

For example... I don't want to pinpoint others.. Let me bring my own way... So.. As per my understanding ZAKATH is never OBLIGATORY CHARITY or even Charity at all.. I am convinced on that... But I never leave no space to take the opinions of others who follow Quran. But I accept truth not just flimsy opinions and they escape without debate ..

So sister never accept such articles or even listen to if your mind says wrong.. But if possible question them and if they not allow you to question or not responding logically then discard... Difference in opinion is no harm.. But if you differ from another fellow who believes in God alone then question him why you accept like that while I understand like this.. So perhaps you can stengthened your faith through his ubderstanding or leave him as junk /fake.. Be honest and seek guidance... While you do so you would go through loads of phases where you change yourself to the right path.. Coz right path is not placed on us but we are to seek right path so we have to leave at certain point the wrong path if convinced...
For example.. In my case one of the most intense issue for me was understanding what Siyam was in the past.. I never had form understanding when I opted only the Quran is guidance.. I was perplexed even after reading many dozen timea the verses... I never got it right but slowly and gradually God paved me in roads to the exact point.. I have debated with many in this forum and many medias basically to get what is right.. Even in this forum who got that right I talked against them coz I didn't get from them the exact picture.. Coz they were unable to explain the exact picture though they got it right.. But.. not anymore.. I realized it... And even I payed apology to those who got the Siyam right then... So go hunt for guidance eith true sense.. If we have chosen the wrong guidance while looking for right guidance.. It doesn't matter.. I am sure God definitely open the right guidance if you insist honestly for guidance...

Ask to your heart.. Did everything become crystal clear to you within Quran overnight...? Yes or No... In my case I would say No.. So.. It goes on.. So don't give up until you get convinced of every verse of Quran if God wills...

Guidance is from God and if you feel you are guided aright be satisfied with it and if anyone talks agaisnt your understanding of Quran then question them interrogate them in order to get what they say is right or wrong...

So... You have realized she is wrong.. Just leave her... But if there is any kind of opportunity to have a debate or discussion of clarity then don't hesitate.. Coz clarity comes with debate and thorough discussion..

So sister never slacken by difference of opinion... Coz of difference of opinion voiced by certain true believers in the past made us to understand the real shame of following hadith... So respect opinion and question them until you yourself satisfied with all logic and truth without any influence or rather compulsion...

      Thank you...

Nobody, regardless of the label, is always 'right' on every subject.
Given to the fact that what is 'right' is subjective anyway.

Based on historical pattern, prohibiting or forbidding cross racial/ethnicities/cultural/religion marriage is usually driven by the motivation of "Guarding the purity of our superior race/ethnicity/culture/religion".
Thus it will not be contaminated by inferior race/ethnicity/culture/religion.

        Some cited historical example

        • Superior caste is forbidden to marry inferior caste. (India, still prevalent up until today)
        • Royal is forbidden to marry peasants / servants (Feudalistic Europe)
        • Aryan is forbidden to marry non-Aryan (Nazi Germany)
        • Free people is forbidden to marry a slave (Roman Empire and American before 19th century)
        • White is forbidden to marry colored people (America, still prevalent culture wise until today)
        • Chosen people is forbidden to marry the goyim / unchosen people (Israelites)
        • Catholics is forbidden to marry the non-Catholics
        • Muslims is forbidden to marry the non-Muslims

And currently rising on this forum

        • Quran alone is forbidden to marry the Hadither / non-Quran aloner.

The motivation or driver is similar, the actual implementation varies..

As long as the humans existed and as long as they exist there will always be objectives
          and goals ,hence competitions.

Humans always push their priorities on each other. Or at least to their nearest family and tribe.

Those who try hard to free themselves from this life priorities can only do so to a certain limit. They themselves will have to push ,even if by peaceful means, their way of life.
However, regarding choices of who to marry, this has changed throughout the world to a certain extend. Most people are choosing who to marry regardless of their societies rules of marriage. The more the races and tribes mix the more the changes are taking place towards freedom to marry whoever one wants to marry regardless of race, religion or rules.

So can we ever eradicate racism of religions,nations,...? Never, as long as there is competitions and comparisons.

So one will have to persevere,if they want to be fair and straight, in competing in righteousness above all else.
If each submit to the rules of nature-I call this GOD s rules-they at least will compete in peace, friendship and tolerance of other peaceful people regardless of their views, religions and race.
So we all differ in our views about lots of subjects,is this not natural?
Take or leave is the choice we all have. Forcing others to take or leave is clearly taking others rights and dignity.
Sister Sarah, nothing wrong with having different views. or criticising other views as long as we dot enforce our views on each other.
So you deduce s/he is wrong and I think Qoran does not endorse it either. and I am not even a Qoran Alone believer only. I believe in all GOD s scriptures, messengers and system. I also believe strongly in freedom of choice for all.
          GOD bless you
          Peace

I felt gaslighted by the article lol...

You said that having a difference in opinion is not harmful however, I felt the article was harmful as it is full of racist opinions and racism is wrong.

You're right, nobody is always right

But wouldn't interfaith marriage be hard for people who practice their religions? I can see how it would be easy for a non-practicing Muslim and a non-practicing Christian for example to live peacefully since if neither practices their religion, there would be no clashes. But if a practicing Muslim has certain religious obligations to fulfill i.e. teach their future kids how to live as a Muslim and then this clashes with the Christian parent's views, there would be a lot of conflict? People can live harmoniously in mixed-race marriages but faith has to do with what your soul believes. For harmony, the soul has to be similar to connect, does it not?

                GOD bless you
                Peace

                Peace Goodlogic

'So we all differ in our views about lots of subjects,is this not natural?'

Yes, but it doesn't change the fact that stating an opinion such as 'race mixing is destroying cultures!' is TOXIC and immoral. Opinions can be wrong. It's important to speak out against toxic ideas. I felt gaslighted by the article as it clearly gives one a false perception of reality so I felt the need to critique it. There's nothing wrong with critiquing a racist article. It helps and reminds others to avoid toxic mindsets.

I'm not forcing anyone to adopt a non-racist mindset. I'm just showing the way. When we see toxic mindsets we should speak out against them otherwise we're just standing by, doing nothing. They still have a right to be racist but I have a right to speak out against false views.

One can date and marry an individual of one's own race without having racist views or being a racist. You don't have to date other races to not be racist. Just don't tell other people that marrying outside their race or culture is destroying existing cultures. It's not. Don't make mixed-race people feel like they shouldn't exist. Don't be like the person who wrote the article.

                  Peace Sarah,

Allah has not forbidden people to intermarry based on tribe, ethnicity, class, race etc., those prohibitions are not in the glorious Quran, our book of guidance.
That article should be titled "My biases against others" )

                  God Bless You peace

The Link you have provided does not explicitly state that Islam is against miscegenation. However, it does suggest that preserving one's racial or tribal identity is a natural and righteous act, and that this may involve remaining largely exclusive from other groups. The Link also emphasizes that there is no racial or tribal preference in the Quran, and that a person's righteousness is what matters most in the sight of God.

It is important to note that while Islam does not explicitly endorse or condemn miscegenation, it does promote the values of diversity and equality. Islam teaches that all human beings are equal in the sight of God, regardless of their race or ethnicity, and that diversity among human beings is a sign of God's greatness and power. Therefore, it is important to approach the issue of miscegenation with an open mind and to respect the choices and preferences of others. Ultimately, a person's choice of partner should be based on compatibility, mutual respect, and the willingness to enter into the marriage of their own free will.

                    Cheers

Sister Sarah, of course you are entitled to stand for what you believe is right.
I did say you were right . i.e I agree with you as well that Qoran does not endorse the view of the link.
I just added that it is better for different views to coexist for better choices and reflection. The test comes with choices and diversity.
We are individuals claiming to belong to a certain group/faction/religion/...How can we possibly synchronise our mind to one agreeable view about every subject?
Different minds ,character ,loyalty, sincerity commitment, search knowledge,.... lead to different views and it is part of the test to all of us.
That is why Qoran is tailor made to our test by our creator. different interpretations and understanding by different minds and characters.
                      GOD bless you.
                      Peace

I felt gaslighted by the article lol...

You said that having a difference in opinion is not harmful however, I felt the article was harmful as it is full of racist opinions and racism is wrong.

Well... Still I have to say difference in opinion of any nature even within Quran No harm, if that is what they feel right... Knowingly giving an opinion agaisnt the truth is sheer disgusting act... That's why I said, if one has difference of opinion just try to debate with him or discuss with him and give you opinion as well... After all searching truth should go through those phases..

But on to your second sentence.. Well.. Racism or any subject, people can right what they want as long as they have the freedom to do so... It is up to the people to accept and discard.. We can't shut the mouths of people. If anyone publish erroneous quran and distribute can we call he is misguiding people.. Everyone has knowledge and let them use jt right.. Who follows thinga blindly, has never followed the right thing.. So... Don't try to stop the freedom of people.. But stand against the violation and injustice act if possible coz violation and unjust act is not allowed in any law... But don't touch freedom of people even it is wrong what they do in broader sense..
Just chill dude.. Is it spring in London.. Lol.. Just go hunt for your guidance... Don't worry about those who are misguided...

Any type of relationship is hard (or doomed to fail) without the existence of mutual respect and care/love towards each others. It's the principle of any type of relationship ranging from inter-country / nationality relationship up to friendship relationship. Harmony or balance exist if mutual respect and care/love towards each other exist.

A video on Xi Jinping telling Trudeau why "relationship between our two nation is not working".
                          https//youtu.be/4YkzzhI2EoI

Now let's zoomed in to marriage, children is NOT the ownership of the parent.
No parent has been able to control their children, especially their 'belief' and they are not supposed to!

I know this is in conflict with Judaism->Christianity->Islam tradition.
It actually started by Judaism which stated that the parent is punishable by Yahweh's law if their children worship other god(s).
In Islam, specifically Sunnis and Shiites this is manifested in "The parent will be held responsible on Judgement Day if their children became a 'murtad' ".
This drives parent to control every little thing about their children, including their thought, opinion and assumption / belief. Because they're afraid that they will be punished on Judgement Day.

Yet this also shows that there's a lack of respect from the parent to the children.
The parent need to respect that their children is not their property, their children is an independent entity which have their own independent thought.
It also shows there's a lack of love between the parent to the children.
By love here it means 'unconditional love', truly loving parent will never had any desire to control their children's thought and respect their independency including their rights for their own thought, opinion and assumption / belief.

Thus there's some truth in your saying that when a fanatical Muslims married with fanatical Christians or fanatical Jews, such relationship will not work. Because each parties will try to control / overpowered each others, including other's thoughts, opinion and beliefs. And when they have children they will compete for control over their children, trying to control their children thoughts, opinion, assumption and belief. Both will never have respect for each others and also respect towards their own children.
