My translation 2:183-187 Siyam..
-
Salam...
Here is my comprehensive and almost ultimate conclusion on verses 183-187 which is termed as SIYAM.. I am much content and within my knowledge and guidance it makes sense from all aspects..
First .. let me translate or interpret then let me explain briefly..
2183 O you who believed! instituted for you self discipline / Abstinence / contemplation / meditation (Siyam) similar to what was instituted to those before you in order that you become concious.
2184 Three days (Ayyamin madudath). So whosoever among you became / was physically sick (temporarily) OR on a Journey (during 3 assigned days) other days. But on those (sick and on journey) who has the capacity /strength to IT (for feeding) provide food for a poor begger. And whosoever willingly contribute more then it is better for him. Anyhow to (Siyam-look above) better for you if you perceive.
2185 A full Moon of intense blaze / flare / brightness in which was sent down the Quran a guidance for people and a proclamation of the guidance and the Criterion / Evidence . So whosoever witnessed among you The full Moon (every month) then Siyam (look above) IT (three full moon days). whosoever among you became / was physically sick (temporarily) OR on a Journey (during 3 assigned days) so the assigned number (idda) from other days. The God wishes for you simplicity and not wishes for you difficulty, in order to execute the assigned number (idda) and in order for you to magnify the God as He has guided you and so that you be thankful.
2186 When he asks you (singular), my servers about Me, then indeed I am near, I am responding supplication of the caller when he calls, so let them react / answer to Me and let them believe in Me in order that they be rightly directed.
2187 Permitted for you nights of the Siyam (look above) the sex to your wives. They (wives) are fortification for you (husbands), and you (husbands) fortification for them (wives). Allah knows that you used to be treacherous / betraying amongst yourselves (wife and husband), so turned towards you pardoned / forsake you (husband and wife), so now rejoice with them (wives) and desire what God has destined/assigned for you and eat and drink until manifest the brighter shade from darker shade of the dawn. Then fulfill the Siyam (look above) to the night. Never rejoice (thubashiruhunna) with them (wives) while you are devoted / committed (Aqifun) in the state of submission. This is limits of the God, so never near them (wives). Like thus makes clear the God His verses to the people in order to be conscious.
++++++++
So obvious what expected from the people before Quran and after... Yes.. God wants those who believed to cultivate self discipline / abstinence through meditation and glorification and magnification on every full moon three days as checkers from dawn to night by forbidding from sexual pleasure which is a direct hindrance and disturbance for meditation and but not food and drink..
Ayyamin madudath seems a well known phrase in anceint arabic to call three days. 2203.. Undeniablely Full moon is visible for three days without being able to distinctly claim it is wanning..
Shahr and The Shahr in the verse 2185 is intentionally placed by Allah without AL (The) at the beginning just to indicate that no one will ever know THE full moon on which Quran was revealed.. That's why called A FULL MOON.. but Allah placed THE Full moon for witnessing.. It clearly indicates whoever WITNESSED a definite thing (The full moon) . So Whoever witnessed THE full moon fast IT (means 3 days earlier verse elaborated).. 2186 is directly related to Siyam as well.. Reflect..
Thank you.. Any comments or clarifications required are welcome..

O leaned ones, and those who research about siyam Salam
Here is an eye opening point.. While I was researching on Haj verses I realized one important factor.. Let me share..
In 2184 Ayyamin madudath...
And in 2203 FEE ayyamin madudath...Well.. How perfect God is.
2184 is clarified by 2185 stating what those ayyamin madudath is...
But 2203 in front of the phrase placing FEE definitely indicates the truth of three days..
Try to perceive it..

Salam..
I am updating my knowledge of Siyam in QURAN.. As of now it stands.. But I have gathered lot of knowledge in this regard.. For some Ayyamin madudath means critical scrutiny and for some RAMADAN means suppressed days or intense difficult days.. And thus shahr may mean like I translated 2194 before as Notorious evil etc. Whatevr.. I appreciate their efforts and they all not going against core of Siyam and I am also of same track..
If you have noticed Siyam is involved Fundamentally as expiation to reform in other verses.. That's a hectic point reflect and not to neglect it..Below is part of verse where everyone has translated as 'equivalent of fasting'...thays so biased.. But truth is as under.. And it clearly explains what SIYAM is..
595
" ..... or an expiation of feeding of needy people or the equivalent. (Dhalika) that is / such is Siyam (Self control) , in order that he may experience consequence of his deed...."They took the word Dhalila and joined the siyam and made it to go in line with their invented faith.. Buitt QURAN clealrg says "That's Siyam in order that they experience the consequence '
But lool at verse 589 they separated Dhalika ..
589
"But whoever cannot find then a Siyam of three days. (Dhalika) That is the expiation for oaths when you have sworn...."So in 595 God clearly says so step one two three and if you doing then "That's Siyam (Self Descipline / Self Control)
Note all translations of 595 states "OR THE EQUIVALENT OF THAT FROM FASTING "...reidiculous...it should be after equivalent a fulstop. And start with Dhalika..
Also note that everyone has translated TASTE CONSEQUENCES in 595 ... Well.. What to do taste as consequence of feeding and Siyam.. But it means EXPERIENCE.. so they experience consequence of what they violated by self controlling...
Reflect.. No compelling..

Peace Everyone..
The most significant point that I perceived of late pertaining to the word KUTABA / KUTIBA is that it is so specific to an individual or group who in fact potentially involve in it and not to everyone or every believer who never would be in that conundrum or situation. .
You can refer wherever KUTIBA is worded in Quran.. For example KUTIBA for you is Fighting.... We can't take it and apply unconditionally to everyone regardless when and where they live.. I presume you get what I am trying to bringforth... Similarly the same KUTIBA is worded in verse 2183... KUTIBA for you Siyam as it was KUTIBA before you... And it is not necessary that to everyone on earth Allah KUTIBA before this verse revealed, the siyam.. Similarly it doesn't necessarily mean that for everyone from now onward the Siyam is KUTIBA..
KUTIBA could mean DELEGATED / RESERVED / ASSIGNED etc..
So if already something is KUTIBA to an individual or group they are bound to execute what is meant for them specifically... For example the one who murdered an innocent then SIYAM is impulsively KUTIBA according to instructions of Allah.. Or another example if one is on the verge of death and writing a will is KUTIBA for him and not for everyone.. Cuz he didn't write a will.. If he has already written a will why to write a will on the verge of death.. Or if he doesn't have anything to write why to write a will.. So KUTIBA is glaringly indicates it is conditional and not meant for everyone.. -

3154
" Say, "Even if you had been inside your houses, those RESERVED /BOOKED (KUTIBA) to be killed would have come out to their death beds...."So you can clearly perceive without any blemish that KUTIBA is specific to whom it addresses..
Further you can take into consideration verses 2178 -179 ...its about Qisas normally translated as Legal Retribution / Retaliation or law of equality.. But to apply one has to commit such an evil act to another innocent person. For instance.. One should have removed a tooth of a person so retaliation applies.. So KUTIBA is specific to the one who committed it. Not for every belever though it is addressed "O you who believed " .. So in 2179 ir states Qisas is paving inroads for one to "la'allakum Thatha'qun " generally translated as so that you can become pious... But it is indeed 'in order that you become Concious / cognizant "..
So who are BOOKED / RESERVED (kUTIBA) to such a situation in life while being believers can indeed be cognizant / concious if maintained either Siyam or Qisas..
So it is sheding light on the WORD SIYAM and what could it really meant when it was revealed without having to encounter mutations with time.. Yes.. Indeed Siyam is SELF CONTROL / STEATFAST but when one is in such a situation where he needs to apply his quality of steadfastness..cuz it is KUTIBA on those believers who committed or involved in such atmosphere.. -
You go complicated, its so simple, kutiba = decreed, written down, meaning it cant be changed, refers to the rule of nature or laws that cant be change as per owns will, this is same in other languages too, like those sculpted/written down has more value than whats passed orally which can be forgotten easily.

Not complicated brother..let me elucidate further in detail per chance you get what I am up with the word ..
Yes.. KUTIBA does mean written down as well... We all know that and am not to deny it.. Even if you take written down and thus never to be changed, it won't make any difference to the verses' core meaning..
See.. When addressed "Ya ayyuhallazeena Amanu / O you who believed ", it doesn't mean every believer is mandatorily confined to it regardless of what the message is.. . And it depends what comes the command or info along with..
For example 443 "O you who believed don't approach Alsalat when you are intoxicated...... "Note well here.. It doesn't mean every believer is intoxicated or everyone are free to get intoxicated, but it confines the command to those INVOLVED in intoxication.. Would this ever matter to a believer who never get intoxicated? Nope.. So common sense.. SIMILARLY, when "ya ayyuhallazeena Amanu and KUTIBA" is stated alongwith it directly addresses to an individual or group who are believers and they are bound to or as you say written down to abide by it.. Not for those it is not meant with..
"O you who believed fighting is KUTIBA for you "" it's not for everyone. It's confined according to situation and scenario and meant to those who are to defend themselves and other innocents.. If there is no aggression or violence throughoit one's life time in a place where he lives, then why to fight.. It's not meant for him.. It's not written down for all regardless of situation.. Conditions apply.. Fight with whome, why, when, how, individually or collectively? ..all these depends on to a person or group who is/are in a situation where there is no other option other than fighting against another who initiated unrest or fought with you first .
Written down or booked / KUTIBA is not for everyone but targeted... Why can't we get it right.. Why it should be KUTIBA for everyone Qisas / legal retribution as if everyone on earth are bound to revenge on others and as if it happens in everyone's life.. Nope.. No incident happened in my life to revenge from another person.. i wish it won't.. It's KUTIBA IN case you are in such a scenario.. No no no.. It's written down / KUTIBA so at least one time in life we have to fight or legal retribution .. ...That's why I really admire the article I shared earlier written by Dr. Kashif Khan (201 for the phrase "Ayyamin madudath = Critical judgement or condition "
So everyone won't face this critical condition to Siyam /Steadfast or toil. Yes I do know it's totally different to my above translation but sooner or later I will know with the guidance of Allah what exactly Allah meant.. That's key..Dr. Kashif Khan who was in this forum also Probably in the past has written below article..

All I have to say for you all to reflect that if verse No. 2178 and 183 starts with "Ya ayyuhallazeena Amanu " and ends with "La'allakum Thatha'qun " and stress the word KUTIBA then both these verses cannot be for everyone... Neither the QISAS nor SIYAM is for everyone but for those who involved or witness such situation... And KUTIBA is indeed for a purpose IN CASE one encounters and not always.. And not something that must be performed always in life, I doubt Allah would have used the word KUTIBA. For example salah/connection not worded KUTIBA unless I missed.. Cuz Salah /connection is part and parcel of ibada/Serving God alone..

Yes.. We all know feminine singular or plural of each word if we look at specific words.. Same statement 280 singular and 324 plural..
Even verse 1220 where ma'du'dath is singular..One thing we should note that ma'du'dath is not always number and it can mean reckon or recognize giving importance of...
As in verse 1220
"They sold him for a price low of notable / recognized / reckoned (ma'du'dath) Dirhams... "So.. In 2184 also it could well and truly be taken as " Recognized / Reckoned / Notable Days"
So what are these recognized days? Three full moon days? Can we deduce it based on verse 2203 ..since two days is immediately mentioned after ayyamin madudath... Or yaumain doesn't mean two days?
Even 324 they probably state that the Nar of Hell won't touch them save notable / recognized days ..ie not more than three days so they take it so simply..
-
Do math, it’s proof shahr is not full moon.

Thalāthati 'Ayyāmin — group of three days -
I want to reiterate the fact that AYYAM MADUDATH seems a well known phrase for specific reason ...
It's like shining night of the sky.. So.. What brings us to think.. Yes full moon nights are the brightest nights of the month.. It can be called Notable Days with a reason.. Indeed three days.. But normally these three days are not called thalatha Ayyam since it is joined with a well known background phrase.. Yes Quran has mentioned in verses where "Three days" are mentioned but they are normal three days and nothing specific about it and there is no reason to call them Ayyam ma'du'dath ... So.. "Brightest nights" are always three.. Suppose if we call "No moon nights " in English we know it is three nights and needless to say three no moon nights.. Similarly this Ayyam ma'du'dath could be used for anything which is specific OR notable..In modern terms we call week days or week end and we know how many days they are..
When moon is full, days are called Ayyam madudath...
Note, haj verses ..haj normally starts with new moon and ends with full moon. Continuous four months.. Great day of haj is last day ie last day of full moon.Anyway .i have explained within Quran my take.. And people are free to choose what they want and Allah knows the guidance and misguidance...

Pls note a very significant point. .
If SHAHR RAMADAN is the month to fast, then logically ponder... There is NO NEED of the verse AYYAMUN MADUDATH... Reflect.. Month Ramadhan is assigned to fast and lunar calendar it may fall 30 or 29 as they say and what is AYYAM MA'DU'DATH IN CONNECTION with RAMADHAN which is complete month. Meaningless and needless phrase to Say in verse 2184 as Ayyamin madudath.. It won't make any sense..But it makes lot of sense if Ayyam madudath means a phrase assigned for full moon days... So Allah said full moon days in 2184 ..but when? Yes.. 2185 clarifies whoever WITNESSED it..
And not fot those who didn't witness it for any given reasons..What indeed people have to do in these THREE DAYS? yes I keep saying Self control / Stead fast etc is the meaning of SIYAM.. but what to do from dawn to dusk..
Indeed MEDITATION.. why one does meditation? Reflect? You can imagine the ramifications of meditations... It will definitely rejuvenate the person who does it.. Cuz he reflext a lot about his past deeds during the month.. So so much of repentance and asking forgivebess and glorification will involve with the person who MEDITATE..BUT what is the direct obstacle for the meditation? Yes.. Non other but SEX... NOTHING ELSE.. that's hudud Allah / LIMIT of Allah. So do meditate and enhance your STEADFASTNESS or SELFCONTROL.
indeed Allah had clarified verses.. Unfortunately a religion called Islam has ironed out the truth of God's verses .. They couldn't erase the verses of Allah cuz Allah promised to preserve it but all they invented is fabrication based on verses.. And that prevailed for centuries. No difference to Christians and jews, the Muslims they all follow not path of Allah ... Path of Satan.. Indeed who follow path of Allah is guided.
Anyway... People have their own business in everything.. Doesnt Allah Know the guided ones..

Also my fellow believers, just reflect... No compelling.. Apart from 2183-187 there are other SIYAM verses in Quran.. None of those makes sense to fast as skip food and drinks but MEDITATION makes sense so they self control.. Why would one who killed an innocent fast skipping food and drink? Is it punishment? So fasting means a punishment? No.. Allah wants him to meditate and reflect a lot and perform continuously repentance for two months... Same other Siyam verses in Quran which are sort of EXPIATION for a valid reason...
-
Consider improving basic reading and writing skills, particularly regarding the usage of plurals (3+).
If only three — then the set contains three!
We need to keep count days (3+) of fasting.
2184 Ayyāmāan Ma`dūdātin
days of counted (feminine plural, three or more!) -
My fellow true believers.. Salam..
Anyway.. My fellow true believers, if you love truth seek guidance from Allah alone... Having said, I want to question again the below from whoever who is a true believer ..
Question No 1
Suppose if you consider like the conventional Muslims that SHAHR RAMADAN means month of Ramadan, then what is AYYAM MADUDATH? is Shahr Ramadan = Ayyam Ma'du'dath.. If so for what reason? If not what is the reason of Ayyam madudath verse in Quran while month of Ramadan verse is full month? Reflect if Allah said fast in the month of September.. Isn't that enough? Does Allah need to say "Limited number of days" in another verse.. What for? Don't they know how many days in a Lunar month.. Why to call it days while month has its specified days and that's why it is called MONTH..
Question No. 2
If you say you follow Quran alone and nothing else, then how did you deduce that Shahr Ramadan means the 9th month of Hijri calendar according to Quran alone? So you consider you follow Quran alone still?
Or else, if some would say we don't take it 9th month but we fast in a hot month. . So hot months are not one ..arent they? And it differs region to region..Just two questions... I know you have answers...
BTW.. Reflect my fellow true believers.. Wasn't the Quran decended on a blessed night... Would a night of darkness ever suit for revelation of Quran... Simply No.. Shining Night is the ideal time.. If not full moon night what else could be a shining night? It was not decended during day time first ever.... Quran never revealed / decended all at once too. Within Quran itself many glaring evidences ie verses to substantiate it.. So Quran was not decended on the so called Month of Ramadan but QURAN was revealed on the full moon night of Shining Brightness.. (Inna Anzalnahu fee lailathil Qadr) So clear And it was a Night in which Quran was revealed and not a Month.. Quran was revealed in a blessed Night and not on a month.. Why should Allah consider a pagan month to claim proudly that it was revealed in the month of Ramadan.. What's so special in the pagan month of Ramadan for Allah .. No chance. .. Allah never changes His sunna. . And it seems all previous scriptures initially decended on blessed night of brightness . . Allah says Siyam of yester people are same to you.. So.. All of a sudden people of the book doesn't need to shift to arabic month of Ramadan.. No changes... They were doing Siyam in full moons so did prophet Mohammed and his people... New religion.. Islam No., 02 invented a lot sadly within Quran itself.. ..
Keep reflecting fellow true believers.. Guidance is not for those who sleep, but for those who seek it and for those who reflect...
